Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Stayed here overnight while doing the Hauraki Rail Trail.
Motel is in a great location, just 5mins walk from the main street of Waihi, where there are lots of shops and cafes.
Room was small, but very clean and had everything necessary including a small kitchenette which is handy to heat up dinner and make a simple breakfast.
Manager and staff were friendly and helpful, and I left my pannier bags at the desk for the day so i did not have to ride around with them for the day.
While the motel is on the main road, i found with the window closed that there was little if any traffic noise.
Would happily stay here again.

Really enjoyed our stay here in a one bed unit. The beds were very comfortable, there was a couch and chairs for relaxing and watching TV and a proper bed in the lounge for whoever ends up sleeping there! It was spotlessly clean and with a proper kitchen (although we did not cook). Two couples or 2 friends or a family would be very comfortable there. The bathroom had dual access from the bedroom as well. There were THREE sets of outdoor furniture for the unit! A little bistro set of 2 chairs and small table was at the front and back and also at the back a picnic table in a cute little courtyard. Staff were friendly and helpful.
There was air con so we could cool down the rooms at night. It was very well equipped with everything you might need. I thought it may have been a bit noisy from the main road but it was not.

It's a little like going back to the 70's! All a bit dated, but still clean and comfortable. No towel rails. I thought there would be quite a bit of road noise being on the main road, but there wasn't. Probably wouldn't return as I thought a bit pricey for what we had.

Stayed for 3 nights at Waihi motel: first impressions good. Stayed in no 12 and found the room really clean, was serviced during our stay daily and cleaned to a good standard on each occasion. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was a good size, location was excellent. Would recommend this motel.

A comfortable room in a motel on the main road. Not disturbed by traffic noise. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. No plug in bathroom for hairdryer. Difficult for women to blow dry hair.

We stayed one night in a one bedroom unit. Very comfortable and well presented, with a lovely private garden. Good value for money. Only disadvantage is it’s situation on a busy road with early morning heavy vehicle traffic.

This motel was a great price and extremely clean for our one night stay. It was a huge room for two people with more than adequate kitchen facilities and linen etc. The main bed was a bit old (springs gone) but thats all i could fault for what the motel is. Lovely hosts and a great stay

Three nights were spent in this property and we were more than satisfied.

Our Unit 12 studio room was away from the other units which gave us additional privacy and reduced the noise from heavy traffic volumes.

Having a sofa, wide TV, chair outside, added to the comfort.

The place was spotless, great toilet / shower area with the shower itself being a gusher - great. Parking on site was another bonus.

Staff were friendly, and, as a stopover / transit point, we would stay there again.

Finding this motel was a piece of luck. The room we got turned out
to be a suite with king sized bed , t.v. chairs and a table, a full kitchen, a seperate shower and toilet, and an adjoining twin bedded room all spotless and just cost us 115 n z dollars. Definately value for money. Very pleasant lady in charge while we were there.

A nice clean friendly motel. If it wasn't on a main road it would have got at least 4 stars but..on .. SH2 (State Highway 2 ) the address is on one of the main trunk roads from Auckland and the truck traffic was non-stop. after 1 night we were moved to another unit which had double glazing and this helped to reduce the background noise. As a base to travel around it is well placed, Waihi, not a major tourist town is good to travel from and a countdown supermarket is 100m away and the main town is a 5 minute walk ( the'free wifi' advertised is a voucher for $5 worth of connection for a single unit )
