We booked our stay last-minute due to a mixup with a booking at another holiday park....The staff were really helpful and welcoming. Absolutely loved the location (easy walk out of park to beach, quieter than Waihi and great swimming with lifeguards), great facilities for kids. Walks to bowentown trig from camp, plus Anzac bay/Shelly bay and Cave bay nearby. Great coffee on site! The cleanest facilities we have stayed at (compared with other similar parks and Top 10s), we stayed in a kitchen cabin unit. Relaxed vibe to camp. Excellent showers/shared facilities. Will definitely be back!!

Our small family spent a week here, something that stood out to us the most was how friendly and welcoming the staff were and how clean and tidy the park & facilities were.

Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The location was stunning, beach sunrises & trig sunsets were absolutely stunning and worth the short wander.

The coffee & cake setup at the park was Devine & ment we could grab a coffee to start the day without leaving the park.

We stayed in a standard cabin and it was perfect for our needs and located near the shared facilities which was perfect.

We would definitely recommend & will definitely stay again when we return.

Next time a stay in the cool kombi shaped units is on our must do list!

Just got back from spending 10 days at Bowentown Beach Holiday Park. The headline says it all. We have a seven metre caravan so can be self contained if we feel like it. At this site we used a combination of their facilities (always immaculately clean and tidy) and our own.
Our site was only 3 mins walk from the beach and being elevated we could watch both the sunrise and sunset from our caravan.
Our modus operandi is to 'hub and spoke'. ie park the caravan in a central spot and each day make car trips to places we want to visit.
From Bowentown its easy driving to Waihi (Martha god mine), the Karangahake Gorge with its any walks and spectacular views, The Goldfields Railway, Whangamata, Omokoroa and the many bays and inlets facing Matakana Island.
We toured for 9 out of our 10 days, but each night came home to a beautiful hours walk down the beach lit golden by the sunset.
Could you ask for more?

We stayed in a self contained unit in the April school holidays. It was on the smaller side, but spotlessly clean and well equipped. Plenty of hot water with good pressure.

The park is lovely, very clean and the staff helpful and friendly. Waihi Beach is beautiful, but for swimming with little kids Shelley Bay (a short walk away - ask at reception) might be better. The water is crystal clear!

The kids loved the jumping pillow! I like the fact that the pillow is deflated late in the evening, over night and early mornings, so you don't get waken up early by laughing and jumping kids :)

We had a great stay and would definitely recommend this holiday park to others!

This camp site has everything from the wonderful friendly staff at reception, to the spotless facilities and incredible location. We have already booked our next holiday! I loved the showers with the clear roofing- felt like a sunny outdoor shower- and they were lovely and spacious for getting dressed.

Bowentown is so special. The location is superb, the facilities are perfect…we cannot fault it.
We spent 8 nights and although peak summer the rain met us most days. Nothing a jacket won’t solve. We still walked the beach each day, fished in Anzac Bay, wandered up to the lookout and generally relaxed.
We were in a two bedroom unit (#10) up in the hill with superb ocean views. This is our fifth time and we’ve decided that unit is the best.
We just brought our food and drinks and settled in.
Waihi Beach township is an approx 5 minute drive where you’ll find a few cafes, a liquor store and a grocery store (four square). Waihi is approx 15 minutes down the road if you want more choices to shop at.
The team did the house keeping every few days with fresh towels etc Nothing was a problem.
It was fun watching the place fill up with campers towards the end of our trip as it was a long weekend. Cool vibe and great memories.
Due to recent storms the flags were not out so no swimming. I personally don’t like swimming with sharks so I was okay with that. Lots of places to dip your feet with the little kids etc.
The staff are so friendly!
Honestly - we’d love to hide this place from you all but once you get there you’ll want to return quite quickly.

I have travelled all over NZ & I have to put Bowentown Beach holiday park at the top of my list for friendliness on check-in, cleanliness of camp facilities ( and this was at the end of the day) activities/ playground for children, the on-site cafe. This is an absolute gem of a place to stay at! 10/10 to management & staff 👍👍

Stayed in one of the 2brm park motels located on hill above main camping area. Super impressed, unit was immaculately clean & tidy with everything we needed for our stay.

Great location with wonderful views of the ocean & short walk to surf beach & surrounding bays.

Had stayed in more expensive hotel in central Tauranga the night before but felt we got much better value from the less expensive park motel unit at Bowentown camp ground!

We love this camp , friendly staff and very laid out , great amenities and very clean and tidy . Only let down was most poeple in the kitchen were not wearing masks and considering a vaccine pass is not required this needs to be enforced . Reception and the little cafe is was required. Please there needs to be some monitoring of the kitchen to ensure people were masks when not seated.

It was a lovely well equipped villa. Beautiful view. Very clean. Modern and updated. Staff was nice/friendly and helpful. The grounds were well manicured. The shower had good water pressure and very hot water. I cooked most meals in the kitchen and it was nicely equipped- had just what I needed.
