I have not been to many trips like this one where you pay for all inclusive. The food was quite bland, there were no snacks in the bars and very little entertainment. The staff was generally not rude but also not that hospitable. A big shoutout to Dai, Antonis, Lefteris and Panos Tsekas who made our stay better! They where really polite, friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay better!

From reading other reviews we weren’t sure where we were going to be in the hotel. It seems we were fortunate because we were in the main side of the hotel. The resort is in a beautiful setting we arrived late at night and when I opened the curtains we had a stunning sea view. We didn’t go to any of the restaurants because we had a small child with us and the buffet suited us the best. There was a great choice in the buffet restaurant and I thought that the staff in the restaurant were very efficient finding people tables. Sometimes it’s busy but you can do this to suit yourself we never had to wait very long even when it was busy. So the other side of the complex it is a short walk you can get a buggy but it was no trouble to walk and we really liked the pool there, it was quieter and it suited us perfectly. There was a young lady there called Remi and she was so friendly and helpful with my young grandchild she went out of her way to be helpful and she was very pleasant. I noticed that she was like this with all the guests and she is an asset to your hotel. We didn’t use the kids club but we did go to the kids disco at 20.30 every night and it was enjoyed by all. With having a young child we tended to go to bed early and you could still hear music because we were quite near that part of the complex. It didn’t bother us at all it’s not like it was a nightclub or anything just family entertainment. The things we felt that could be improved upon where the main bar in an evening it took half an hour for us to get served and as I said we couldn’t wait that long with having a baby with us. The hotel knows how many guests are there so should be able to provide a better service here. The cocktails at the swimming pool bars we’re just awful I don’t know whether they’re premixed but they didn’t taste anything like they’re supposed to we had a mojito and I never had another one after that. The sunbed situation is something that many reviews are picking up on and that’s a very easily resolved issue just get more sunbeds please. And finally the courtesy room we booked because we had a late departure, it is like a gym changing room so it isn’t a room just for yourself which is not a problem but it would be really helpful if you could provide some benches in there so we can put our bags on. It was really difficult trying to get dressed after you come out of the shower because as I said we had a small child with us so trying to get dry and dressed just stood on the floor was difficult. For us it was a lovely stay and the issues that I mentioned above they weren’t major issues just room for improvement. Every part of the hotel and the grounds that I saw was spotlessly clean and the staff were lovely.

Overall the hotels ( plural for a reason) are clean the food in the buffet is good facilities are average bar areas are good but wait up to 25 mins for one drink at busy periods . When you book your stay please ensure you know exactly what you are booking. An inland view room could be at a recently bought hotel next door which has been amalgamated into the Atlantica Beach resort but is approx 10 min walk each time you go for a meal or the entertainment! Buggies drive you in between the separate accommodation only when available, but often find it’s quicker to walk in the heat. However one jewel in the bell staff was Panos Tsekas who was very knowledgeable and customer focused . Clearly very proud of Greek history and a keen sea swimmer who would educate you in the powers of sea swimming. Never too busy to help a guest no matter how small the task . THANKYOU PANOS The plus point to the adjoining accommodation once you have come to terms with the walk is that the pool area is quieter and a little more private with an amazing cocktail wizard Tai who is an artist and perfectionist. The entertainment team has limited talent and enthusiasm but a particular mention for Tedi the entertainment manager who was an asset to any hotel . Pretty much carried the entertainment on his own. The a la carte restaurants should be swerved , they are rubbish , In the Greek restaurant Inwas expecting something special , after all I am in Greece however , you pay for for your bottles of wine ( in an all inclusive hotel) and if I can add some pics later of my childrens meal you can see why ! I had beef which was nice I suppose but the wife’s meal was dry with no care taken on presentation. The beach area is lovely and often had to resort to a towel on sand as all the beds around the main pool are taken by 7-8 am even though signs say reservations of beds is prohibited before 10 , which is clearly not policed and the Germans ( lol ) took all the beds at the adjoining hotel by 6 am ( unbelievable)! Excursions were fantastic especially Zia by night and the fishing boat trip which is expertly organised by Meggie , who booked a fantastic table through her contacts to watch the sunset at Zia !Brilliant. Overall it’s a pretty decent and maybe push to good hotel but it does have its faults. Probably wouldn’t return but thanks you have some great staff , mentioned : Panos, Tedi , Tai who are the jewels of your hotel

The hotel has great garden, lovely architecture, long sea shoreline and nice restaurants. But... We got to the hotel at 06:30 am, but got the room at 4:00 pm. At 1:30 pm the reception gave us cards to room which was in the APART hotel- Atlantica Suites- with no restaurants, bars, nice swimming pools and no beach off course, very far away from the main hotel and the sea. We paid for Atlantica Beach Resort room with better standard, but got something completely different, much cheaper. We weren't the only one- guests from other terms had the same problem. Some got that apart hotel, others didn't get sea view or the bed for the child. It was sick. During 3 hours we were walking, talking, TUI calling and again, and again- without sleeping for all night before and without the shower. We called 4 persons from TUI and finally at 4:00 p.m. we got information there is the room (the proper one). But.. the so called 'manager' Mr Nikoz threatened us he should throw us away from the hotel and he should called the POLICE. Can You imagine that? Many hours of waiting in the hot sun with small child, waiting for what you paid and he behaves like in 80'? Threatening the guests? He had cards to new room in his hand and talking like the father to children, that we had to apologize the reception staff. Of what? Because we didn' t take the fake room? Also Mrs Faye was behaving rude, with too high voice saying that Atlantica Beach Resort contains also Atlantica Suites (far away from the main hotel) and Atlantica Village (come on, it's on the north of the island). Both staff awful rude unacceptable behaviours (Mrs Faye and Mr Nikoz) will be reported to Atlantica Resort and to TUI. People like those shouldn't have close contact with the guests. You pay for your better standard room, then they give you apart room far away and sell your room to another. Do you know what is all about? Every day we had seen many guests with luggage walking on the hotel, waiting for the room at late hours. And many were unhappy. Beach towels changed once to 2 days. When we were waiting for the room the receptionist told us, that we had to remove our 3 suitcases outside the hotel, on the road. Our room had to be ready at 3:00 pm. The hotel doesn't have the proper spare room. We didn't agree to leave our luggage (with medicines, cosmetics) outside without any security (no cameras). We had to call TUI help desk for 3 times to be allowed to put our baggage inside the hotel. The hotel truly doesn't have good part of the sea to swim- bottom is all in bigger or smaller stones. We walked everyday to Atlantica Belvedere beach to swim which was 10 minutes away in one way. Not very nice. It was the worst welcome we had ever got from the hotel and we and many other guests won't came here again.

Beautiful clean and modern hotel. Well maintained grounds and absolutely stunning views. We were given welcome drinks on arrival and a porter took our luggage to our room. We had a sea view room which was located just a short distance from reception and the main pool. The beds were very comfy and our room was cleaned with the cleaners leaving fresh water and bath towels every day during our stay. All staff were absolutely fantastic. From the restaurant staff to the entertainment team who work so hard, especially Tedi, Nicky and Rix- you guys made our holiday thank you! All evening entertainment we saw was good. The beach party was our favourite night! Food was probably the best we’ve had at an all inclusive resort. So much variety between the buffet and snack bar and the food in the Greek and Italian restaurants on site was fantastic too. Drinks were ok. There was plenty of choice - soft drinks, cocktails, beer, wines, Prosecco etc. I had to ask for a cocktail to be adapted slightly and staff were happy to do this and remembered when I ordered again. The only issue we encountered at ABR was the sun-bed situation but this seems to be the case wherever we go during the summer holidays. There are loungers around the pools as well as on the grass and the beach. There is also another pool at the back of the hotel which many guests didn’t seem to know about. If you ask at reception they will send a golf buggy to take you up to it. It’s quieter than the main pool and we found loungers there when we couldn’t get one round the main pool. Staff will take food orders from you and bring them to your lounger up there. There is also the adults only pool by reception but we didn’t use this as we have kids so don’t know what it was like to get a bed around that pool. We would happily recommend this hotel to anyone and would have no hesitation in returning.

Overall, this is a very good hotel with lots of potential, but not a 5* currently in my opinion. Pros: * Beautiful hotel grounds (green lawns) * Beach on the hotel’s doorstep * Tasty buffet food - lots of choice for everyone * Mostly friendly and helpful staff (with a couple of exceptions) * Delicious food in the Greek a la carte restaurant (Elea) * Nicely working and clean air con in the rooms, no smell of mould Cons: * Poor quality drinks in the beach bars * Difficult to find a slot in the a la carte restaurants - we tried booking at the time of checking in and 99% of slots were already gone, and yet when we arrived at the restaurants at the allotted time, they were mostly empty? Perhaps most people book and never turn up? Maybe a different system is needed, for example a refundable deposit that would only be refunded if you turn up? * Sun loungers - not enough for the number of guests in the hotel. This seems to be simply a question of too many guests for not enough loungers. The hotel should either build a bigger pool (and get more loungers) or reduce the number of bookings, otherwise the ‘lounger wars’ will never end * Why does the pool close at 6pm? * Our room was not ready when we checked in at midnight - there were 3 of us (one adult and two children) and yet only the double bed was ready when we checked in, which was not a nice thing after a long and tiring journey, as it took the reception nearly an hour to send someone with the sheets to prepare another bed (actually a sofa) * Sofa-beds in the double rooms are very small and uncomfortable - only suitable for small children I would say * The mats on the tables in the buffet restaurant are not changed after every guest, meaning that you will often end up eating on dirty mats (see the attached photo) - not really a 5* experience in my opinion. The tables should be covered with a clean cloth for each guest, like in a proper 5* hotel/restaurant As for the paper cups used by the beach bars - honestly, this wouldn’t bother me so much if the alcohol was of higher quality. How would people imagine using glass outside, can people not imagine the number of accidents and cuts caused by broken glass if the hotel was using glass outside? Maybe an option would be to provide guests with reusable plastic cups for drinks outside?

Day 6 of our visit and we decided to book into the spa, leave the kids with their Grand parents and have an hour of just us. We visit the spa quite regularly in the uk, across Leeds and Harrogate, more often rudding park, but this massage is next level. I think we paid 70 euros each and got the destress option which was 55 minutes but you also get a 15 minute free voucher to add on from the hotel. normally when we finish our treatments I ask my wife how hers was first just in case she had a bad massage and this time I did the same because I didn’t want to tell her that it was the best massage If hers was not good. But her opinion was the same, best massage she has ever had. Our consultants kostas and Kostantina seemed to find every single muscle and knew how to massage each one perfectly. Even the feet! Honestly best massage I’ve had without doubt. It makes rudding park massages feel amateur in comparison. Highly recommend. Bonus points for getting discount if you return for a second on your visit

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Atlantica beach resort. Although we made the best of our holiday, having stayed in many other Atlantica hotels, this is definitely not one of the best sadly. The location of this hotel on the beach however is stunning but sadly there are a few things that let this hotel down. Service - Although the hotel staff work tirelessly to ensure guests are seated and catered for, every day we were given a table and expected to wait for clean cutlery and for our table to be wiped down (if we were lucky) by staff. Personally, we should not have been shown to our table until it was ready. Something not quite 5* about sitting down to other peoples left over food. Our place mats were dirty and not wiped down (new cutlery placed ontop). On many occasions our cutlery was dirty and the plates on the buffet were not cleaned properly with dried on food left on. You could feel it if you felt your plate - not acceptable. Food - the food was okay, however extremely repetitive. This was the first holiday which me and my family struggled to make a meal from the buffet. The selection of food is not the best. Great if you love fish though! We booked the greek restaurant for my birthday and it was a huge disappointment. Our slot was9:30pm but as soon as we arrived they told us to hurry and order as the kitchen was closing. We quickly chose our food options and within minutes it all arrived. By 10:10pm we had eaten our starters, mains and desert and were made to feel like we had to leave as staff were clearing up and shutting the restaurant down around us. It was a huge disappointment and put a downer on my birthday as I had specifically chosen to go there with high expectations of a lovely family evening. Drinks - THE biggest let down for this hotel. Many guests who we became friends with during out stay agreed that the wine tasted like vinegar. It was undrinkable, and I am by no meals a wine snob! Beer is self serve - in paper cups until the tap runs out. You are then advised to wait until tomorrow until its restocked! My biggest problem was that you would have to queue for water but could self serve beer! Your are not allowed new bottles of water and must refill your old ones. Cocktails are awful! I am a lover of a cocktail and have tasted some interesting ones over the years but I have never tasted anything quite like the ones here! Very disappointing. Rooms - there are updated rooms on the one side of the hotel which look lovely but we were in the old bit. Rooms were clean (ish) but some parts were really grotty. See photos attached. Entertainment - The entertainment work tirelessly to ensure you have a great stay. They made our holiday really special. They make the best of what they have and are always happy to help out and entertain the children which is wonderful. They work so hard. Pool - the pool is lovely, and really clean. Sunbeds are taken by 6:30am every morning. Nothing quite like having to wake up early to get a subbed on your holiday. Such a shame really. Pool doesn't open until 10am and closes at 6pm. Staff - Some of the hotel staff were incredibly friendly. Maria (I think) on reception was lovely and welcoming when we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. There are others who clearly don't want to be there. Some of the bar staff and waiters really made us feel unwelcome. Such a shame and definitely not what you expect from a 5* hotel. Spa - My husband treated me to having a shellac manicure for my birthday. He had paid 60 euros for a hand massage, creams and the shellac. The lovely lady vivi carried out my treatment however within a day my nails were starting to peel. I also did not receive the full treatment that my husband had paid for and when questioned they wouldn't refund our money and gave us hand cream to take away with us instead. I personally wouldn't use this service as the cost is huge for the quality you get. Overall, the location was what one us over. The beach is beautiful and our children enjoyed spending lots of time there. If the drinks were better, the service and the food then this hotel could be incredible. Sadly, we won't be returning or recommending this hotel to family and friends. It certainly isn't worth the money. As this was my birthday treat, I am saddened that it wasn't as special as I had hoped.

The hotel was spotless, and the food was good with plenty of choices. The only thing that lets the hotel done is the lack of sun loungers. This was a huge problem, I don’t know what time people are getting up, but all the loungers were gone by 7:30am, who wants to set their alarm on holiday to get up! The Italian was a buffet not a al carte, but the food was good. We booked the Greek night with the help of one of the reception team on the machine in the lobby. She advised me to take a photo of the booking, which I did. We turned up to the restaurant at our allocated time on the night, but we were told no reservation had been made. I explained that we had booked it with a member of the reception team, the waitress said I should have a ticket, but as I couldn’t provide a ticket we couldn’t use the restaurant, even though their where empty tables. Very disappointed as this was our last night and we were really looking forward to eating there. The trip to Zia by night was lovely, but be careful of the timings, the coach picked us up at 5:40pm and it takes about an hour to get there. The coach pick up is 9:00pm to return, that doesn’t leave very long to eat and do shopping, we had to rush our meal to have time to pick up a few souvenirs. The sun setting was great though. It was a good holiday, apart from the stress of the sun loungers.
