Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful place to get away to, Vickie and Roger were so welcoming we had a great 2 days with them, would of loved to have stayed longer! The accommodation was spot on, lovely big room with stunning views and ensuite bathroom. Nothing was too much trouble, amazing food, both at breakfast and evening meals, the farm tour was an added bonus too. Would definitely return, we loved it here!

This is our 4th year staying here. Vickie + Rodger continue their superb hospitality but this time we experienced wine from their very own vineyard and we all agreed it was absolutely stunning. The proximity to Kauri Cliffs is the drawcard for us and what a spectacular short drive, 15/20 minutes max, from Waiwurrie to KC. This year I scored the top bedroom with ensuite and would have enjoyed staying there for a bit longer - a wonderful room with fantastic views and oh so restful. We'll be back again next year.

Almost instantly on being welcomed by Vickie and Rodger any imagined awkwardness was dispelled and we knew that we were in for a pretty special experience. The spectacular natural ease and generosity of their manner exceeds the truly unique and spectacular setting with views over Mahinepua Bay and the Cavelli Islands. Our family felt that we were not only cared for attentively but cared about unconditionally. Vickie and Rodger achieve a genuinely high standard of very comfortable rooms, great food - breakfast and three course dinner - the manuka honey (from the farm property) ice-cream, 'tropical apricot' relish and smoked kingfish pate were particular standouts. Other memories to cherish are Zucker the black lab and friend for life, sunrise over the bay, discovering the sweet sourness of 'tropical apricots, the morepork/ruru in the distance, real tea, mint for the lemonade, Makana chocolates, delightful conversation and smoked marlin to take home. We will have no reservations about strongly recommending this experience to all and sundry.

We 4 have stayed at Waiwurrie on 2 previous occasions and will be back again next year for a golf tournament at Kauri Cliffs. A very pleasant 15 minute scenic drive from Waiwurrie to Kauri Cliffs and the exceptional hospitality from Vickie & Rodger has encouraged us to promote Waiwurrie to a number of our friends who all agree with our recommendation. Vickie catered for one of our party who was vegetarian and we all returned to our home cities with a selection of freshly smoked marlin thanks to Rodger.

From the moment we arrived we felt right at home and Vickie our host for the night welcomed us like family. To describe the views only one word would do stunning. Close enough to walk down to a private beach and enjoy a leisurely swim. Perfectly positioned for staying if kauri cliffs golf course is what you enjoy.

Great beaches, Kauri Cliffs & Kerikeri all within easy drive. Waiwurrie is a gem due mostly to the wonderful hospitality of Vicki & Roger & then there is the view. Enjoyed night of food & wine in-house with our hosts on our first night & at nearby Kauri Cliffs after golf on second night. Vicki prepared delicious breakfast to order each morning. We will be back
