Detailed Reviews
A beautiful and tranquil location with some lovely costal walks and beaches. We were made to feel incredibly welcome by Vickie and Rodger, who are exceptional hosts. Dinner and Breakfast were wonderful and the room was clean and well presented. It would have been great to spend some more time there, definitely worth a return visit.

My wife and I spent two delightful nights with Rodger and Vickie at the Waiwurrie Coastal Farm Lodge on our first trip to New Zealand. They were wonderful hosts, preparing two excellent dinners and two wonderful breakfasts. Cocktails on the patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean were highlights of our stay. Best of all was their hospitality and helpful suggestions in navigating our way around New Zealand. Highly recommend!

The stay at the Waiwurrie Coastal Farm Lodge was the end of our one-month trip through New Zealand.
It was a great ending.
Vickie and Rodger are very good hosts. We felt at home. The lovely dog Zuker also contributed to this.
Vickie cooks excellently.
Thank you, we will never forget your stay.

This was the last place we stayed in New Zealand before our journey home, and we saved the best till last! Fabulous location, comfortable room, and Vickie and Roger really made us welcome in their home, and were great company. I think we solved all the worlds problems over a few wines. . Breakfast was delicious, as was the evening meal we had on the first night. We were really sorry to leave.

We stayed with Rodger and Vickie for two nights at the beginning of March, and everything was perfect. They were so totally hospitable and kind, offering a glass (or two) of wine when we arrived, and helping us to plan the next days activities, which included a farm tour courtesy of Rodger.
On our second evening we had arranged to eat in, and I would absolutely recommend this. Vickie is extremely talented in the kitchen, and she served a wonderful meal (with more wine!). Some people just have a talent for creating an atmosphere where you feel you have known them for years. It is a rare gift, and I would say that this is the case at Waiwurrie Coastal Farm Lodge. We arrived, felt immediately at home, had the best sleeps of our trip, and didn't want to leave.
The views are simply amazing from the kitchen table - Mahinepua Bay is breathtakingly beautiful, and if you are trying to decide between here or Paihia, I would say, stay here for sure, you will not be disappointed. You leave most of the crowds behind. The drive north from Kerikeri along the coast has awesome scenery, there is a world-class golf course within a short drive of the b & b (if that is what you like) and apparently, the elusive Marlin is plentiful in the water off the coast here (if that is what you like). We did a hike along the Mahinepua Peninsula, and the views the entire way were incredible.
There is something for everyone in this area, and we hope to be back someday.

Waiwurrie is a destination! This fabulous lodge has commanding views of Mahinepua Bay. We thought we had arrived in Paradise!
Vickie and Rodger were exceptional and amazing hosts who treated us to a taste-tempting three course dinner. Entrée was pâté made from Rodger's locally-caught and smoked marlin; the main was eye fillet beef; and dessert was Vickie's home-made manuka honey ice-cream; all washed down by professionally-made wine from grapes grown on the property.
Breakfast was equally great with eggs from their hens and locally-sourced food.
Our room on the ground floor was beautiful, with a separate but private bathroom.
A truly wonderful stay - we would go back in a blink! Thank you both.
