Detailed Reviews
Stayed here in 2004 and enjoyed it so stayed again this year.
Good location to Pacific Fair shopping complex (super market)
and the Oasis shoping centre (restaurants).
Also a selection of small retaurants and takeaways on your doorstep.
Good lagoon pool in the centre of the complex (most important part of picking accomodation for us)
Had a disagreement with management on leaving which spoilt things a bit, on original request I advised them we required a fold a way bed for the last 3 night of our 18 day stay as our eldest daughter was coming over to stay with us. On checking out was advised we owed thirty something dollars extra for the bed. I pointed out that this was included in the cost quoted (from printed emails) and her sarcastic reply was "well I suppose I will have to wear the cost of the bed then" I had just spent over A$2000 and have to argue for 10 minutes over thirty odd dollars when her paper work shows it was requested before the quote was given .

We stayed in a self catering apartment in this resort for 10 days in January during the school holidays. The resort itself, although full, was not noisy at all. The pool and BBQ area are kept clean and tidy and equipped with seating and tables.
Our apartment could have done with more kitchen equipment but this did not spoil our holiday.
There are numerous good eating places within walking distance and also within a short drive.
It is also reasonably close to Sea World and Water World, both of which we visited twice!
It is about 20-30 minutes from Coolangatta airport.

We are a family of 6 and always have to search hard to find a place on the Gold coast that suits our budget. This year we stayed at the diamond cove mermaid beach and was overall happy with our stay. We arrived on a very early flight and drove to Diamond cove . We were unable to check in due mainly to the previous guest still in the room. We arrived back latter after check in time and were happy with our apartment. We had our own lockable garage with internal access, 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, slept total of 7 people. Nice large lagoon pool with spa. Pool would be really great for families with young children, most of the pool is shallow. BBQ area right next to pool. KFC, sizzler , putt putt mini golf all a stone throw away. overall experince was peaceful, The lady at reception was lovely and that always is a big plus. We would stay again

We stayed here on recommendation from family who thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience.
The apartment was booked 5 months ahead of our stay for 2 adults and 2 children, when we arrived we found two double beds instead of a double and twin beds, there was a trundle provided. The apartment was dated and had no aircon in the living areas. When we spoke to Brad the manager, he stated that the apartment we were meant to be staying in had been sold in November so we were "lucky" to be able to get accommodation there - it would have been nice to have been contacted prior to this!
We also had a serious issue with another guest taking photos of our children in the pool, Brad stated this had nothing to do with him, which I disagree beacause as a mananger he should be investigating the safety of his guests.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, there are much nicer places for less money.

Absolutely dirty in apartment; bathrooms, kitchen, utensils and so on were disgusting, When you save for holidays and walk into a very dated apartment which is dusty and dirty it is gut wrenching and beyond disappointing, How this resort can justify the cost per night is appalling to me and several friends who visited could not believe the state of the apartment either. Do not go by the photos that this Resort posts, and how they call themselves a Resort is abhorrent. There is 1 pool, the only nice part of Diamond Cove and a spa with a BBQ area within.
After hours the gates are locked but the only access is by key. There is a number pad by the pedestrian gate but you are not given a code. Also there isn't an intercom at the gates. For a "Resort" it's ridiculous. (The majority of Resorts are equipped with intercoms and guests staying given code access.) When you have someone come to visit ensure they have a mobile on them otherwise they cannot contact you to let them in the Resort - SMH
The mature lady in reception was unfriendly to put it mildly. She over talks you and is actually quite rude in her manner. Customer service is paramount and she certainly needs some education on that. No interest in going the extra mile for the paying guest such as welcoming, informative or even a smile. Maybe she needs a career change? The reception though was closed during the day for long periods.
Please, please do not stay here - it will be as if you have thrown your money down the toilet and that is not an exaggeration. It really is beyond BAD and there will be no warm fuzzies from the "ICE CUBE" lady in reception.

We had booked into the resort for four nights over Christmas, which had been booked by our travel agent and confirmed electronically in several different documents. On the day before our arranged checkout we were out and got irate calls to my mother's cell phone, which had the resort manager yelling at her that we should have checked out by now. When my astonished mother told her that we had confirmation that we were booked in for another night she was rudely told "I don't care what paperwork you have, you have to get out now. " Apart from having to then hastily pack all our things up (and with a young child in tow that was a formidable task), and then having to find alternative accommodation during a time when there was absolutely no vacancies, I was absolutely shocked at how badly this was handled by the resort manager, as the rudeness did not stop when we tried to talk to her or even when our travel agent rang later to see what had gone wrong. apart from this complete mis management of their booking the unit was dated and badly cleaned and the washing machine was broken. There is absolutely no way I would ever stay there again, or recommend it to anyone. As a travel writer I travel a lot, and I have never before encounterd anything quite like this very. unfortunate scenario.

Lady at reception was not very friendly. The units look lovely from the outside but are far from this on the inside. Dated and very dirty. They need a total revamp and a good clean. Our lovely view was an old lounge and faded plastic table and chairs right outside our back door looking at a back fence. The only good thing was the pool area. We were only there for a couple of nights and were out all day both days so didn't complain. If we had been staying longer we would have requested a refund and found accommodation else.

I usually look forward to staying with a friend here occasionally, but sadly it turned out to be the weekend from hell. Two separate groups of individuals descended on the complex on Saturday night and proceeded to become more boisterous and intoxicated as the night wore on. Speaking to a couple of residents the next day, they got no sleep either. Not only did the obnoxious behaviour continue all night but those who left around 5-6am did so with scant regard for other guests. There were empty cans and cartons of alcohol left on the footpath and gutter as a sorry indictment of the night's furore.
On previous stays, I'm sure there was a 'bulky' caretaker and security guards who patrolled the complex several times a night. No action apparentlywas taken to the detriment of others.
My friends were most apologetic saying it was an experience they would not wish on their worst enemies!! No wonder they toldl me there are a number of units that have not sold in months.
regrettably, ONE star!!

It was a short stay and not at all impressed. Unit was in poor condition with food bits left around kitchen, fridge unclean, windows dirty, bathrooms still dirty!!Overall dirty. 1 pool, spa and BBQ area which was nice but basic amenities there. No gym or games room. Kiosk advertised - where was it? Staff member (Manager) in Office was obnoxious/rude.. Needs to learn customer service skills. Price for the accommodation was outrageous. Not surprised it was empty holiday time, Would not stay again

One of the main if not the only attractions of this complex is the lagoon pool. The brochure states "Start your mornings with a refreshing swim in our sparkling heated outdoor pool." Only problem is it's not heated, well not unless you call 23 degrees ideal. Considering that we're paid just under $200 a night over the Easter break for a 2 bedder, the attractions & rather tired state of the unit left a lot to be desired.
Next time we will go back to Diamond Beach which offers far better attractions and proximity to everything for much the same money. I would agree a previous comment that the management was abrupt & unwelcoming.
