Overall we enjoyed our 1 week all inclusive stay, I say we that's me, my husband and 2 girls aged 9 and 12.
They were on Spanish half term and we all needed a break.
That's exactly what we got.
We had a free upgrade to a beach front bungalow which was very nice and upto date. The bed was very comfy and we all loved the views.
It's probably easiest if I break it down into good and bad.
So the good :
Food, so much choice and tasty.
Room, nice, clean and modern. Beds were comfy and the bathroom looked new with a large shower.
Gift voucher, we received a 5% voucher of our total spend by booking direct.
Location, close to airport and on the beach.
Corralejo beach, we hired a car and fell in love with this beach.
Kids club, this was good, our youngest enjoyed going there.

Bad:
Drinks, beer, wine did not taste of alcohol and soft drinks were not fizzy 😔😔😔
We even bought some expensive bottles of wine which were not included but even these were bad 😩
Communal areas: some of them are in desperate need of a refurb e.g. The bridge over 1 of the pools! The area around the kids pool desperately needs updating.
No coffee at lunch or dinner 👀
Beach towels, they charge 10 euro cash deposit for each towel, I don't get that one 🤔 and you can't exchange for a new one without paying.

All said and done it wasn't a expensive week so we were pleased with our choice and with a few tweeks and money spent this hotel could be fabulous.

After staying as a party of 25 people for my wife’s birthday 2years ago, we decided to get some winter sun.
We revisited the Barcelo unfortunately we had a2 day delay due to storm Dennis
On arrival at the hotel we found we had been downgraded to a cheaper room
We nowhere told by reception we could be upgraded later but the hotel was busy so we would have to wait two days.
We were then moved to room 3031 at the other end of the hotel about 800 metres from reception and the restaurant.
However they offered to take our cases on the golf buggy, we decided to Unpack and ended up staying in the room
We where then unlucky enough to be caught in the sand storm although this was no fault of the hotel they never bothered cleaning our patio furniture until we left 3 days later. On our first deck up to the restaurant for breakfast there were no coffe cups no ham or chicken apparently we turned up late about half an hour before closing time as they were busy. I looked for the hot breakfast that formed scrambled egg made with powder or water that was inedible pig fat disguised as bacon I opted to avoid this and chose the awful sausages instead which I left along with the scrambled egg
On my third attempt I tried muesli and yogurt that was surprisingly tasty
We hand lunch around the pool this was a choice of dried up chips frankfurters or something resembling a burger we opted for salad.
After eating out that evening we went earlier to breakfast only to find there where no spare tables after complaining to the waiter we were told were busy that was our last visit to the restaurant
After paying all inclusive we were so disappointed we ate out afterword on departure we phoned reception for assistance with our cases once again they were busy
After asking for a complaint form 3 times check out I was told to wait for a manager that never turned up before our departure hence this review
I paid nearly two thousand pounds for 8 days and another six hundred eating out
I have not given a poor rating only because of the adverse weather
However they had clearly over solid the holiday will not return

We stayed for 10 days in a 1 bed bungalow 2028 which is ground floor 2nd line from beach. Although we didn't have a clear view of the beach it was good enough! We were very happy with the position as it was fairly central to shop and reception one way and pools and restaurant the other with the beach just a few yards!
All of the staff were very friendly, efficient and accommodating nothing was to much trouble. The only reason I haven't given this hotel 5* was the lack of vadiety in the restaurant. Although it was spotless and plenty of choices, it all seemed quite samey. As we are not picky eaters we certainly didn't go hungry but didn't come away from the restaurant feeling as though we'd had a really lovely meal. The other little gripe was as half board guests we were not provided any kind of drink with the main meal not even water - you had to buy it. Although coffee and juice were provided at breakfast. Drinks at dinner and evening entertainment are put on your room bill.
I liked that you could choose to either eat at lunchtime or dinner as half board which gave us the freedom to go into the town and try out some of the many bars and restaurants. There's a great variety and you can eat cheap or pay more for a really good meal. You can get a full English breakfast for as little as €3 and a huge 21oz (600gm) T bone steak for €21. A good mix grill is around €12 and a 2 course Indian for €15. Beer is anything from €2 and a good glass of pink gin around €5
If you're with jet2 checking in for your return flight is available at the hotel reception which is a brilliant service.
Just a cautionary note for going in january. Although the daytime temperature is a very pleasant 20°-23°. The pools were very chilly apart from the small family pool and I think at least one of the main pools should be heated in the winter - the sea was warmer! You do need to 'brace yourself' initially but after a few seconds of shock you do acclimatise and able to appreciate the beautifully clear blue water.
I've been as honest as possible

We were very excited for this trip. I called the hotel 2 days before we arrived to let them know that my wife is heavily pregnant and to ask for extra pillows in the room. On arrival to check in the lady that checked us in was nice enough, she must have just got back from a cigarette break because the smell coming from her was very strong. Anyway, she gave is the room number and explained about the hotel, as we went to our room, I notice that the front door didn’t open properly, went into the room and the door to our right was our bedroom which had 2 single beds in it and no extra pillows, my partner thought she would have to sleep on a single bed and panicked a little but I reassured her that they would make sure she doesn’t sleep on a single bed. My wife then went to have a quick shower as we had just been on a plane and she wanted to freshen up, guess what? They had no towels, I’m now getting frustrated and called reception to explain about the situation ( the door, bed and towels) he assured me that someone was coming immediately to make the bed into a double and bring some towels so we can have a shower. 25 minutes later we still not heard from them so I walked to reception to speak with Martha who is the manager on duty. I’ve asked one of the front desk clerk to please call the manager, I would like to speak with her and she said no problem, I can literally see her walk in the room and tell the manager that someone wants to speak with her about an issue and she did not bother to move, the clerk came back to me 5 minutes later and said that she wouldn’t be long. I sat for 20 mins waiting for Martha before getting up and walking back to the room. 30 minutes later Martha calls the room and asked if I wanted to speak with her, I gently said yes please, I was waiting 20 minutes for you at reception to speak with you and she said to me that she was having lunch. I guess guest issues can wait. We waited an hour and half before someone came to make the bed and guess what? Still no towels, it’s actually laughable now. My pregnant partner is tired, grumpy and upset with everything which I have to take the brunt off. I would not recommend this hotel at all. STAY CLEAR. We will be changing hotels tomorrow.

Dear guest, We are very disappointed to read your experience whilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience on this occasion, please believe we do extend it with all sincerity. First of all we would like to let you know it is our main goal to make the stay as comfortable as possible to all our guests. We try our best to make you feel like home. On one hand, we sincerely regret that you had to come to reception to inform us about the imperfections you found in the room. All of bungalows are always double checked by our head of housekeeping to ensure that everything is functional and spotless for our coming guests, that is why we are quite surprised about the lack of towels since clearly we were not performing to our usual standard on this occasion. Our maid and the technicians had been informed immediately to solve the issues in the room and they went as soon as possible. We also would like to point out that all the rooms for new arrivals are per standard made with two single beds as advertised on our website, nevertheless our housekeeping team can make the beds with double sheets joining the mattresses upon request. On the other hand, we lament if you did not feel supported enough on our side despite all our efforts to assist you, we can guarantee you that all members of the hotel staff go out of our way to offer the best customer service to the clients. As a team, we are committed to achieving 100% guest satisfaction and appreciate comments such as yours’ as a powerful wake-up call on areas where we need to do a better job. We are really sorry that we had no opportunity to demonstrate our true level of hospitality and interest in serving our clients, we would be very pleased to welcome you again in the future ensuring you in advance of our utmost commitment to make your next Barceló holiday experience an unforgettable one for all the right reasons. Regards, Marta Diez Guest Experience Manager

Just got back from our stay at this resort for 6 days - All inclusive in December. The hotel rooms were nice but the balcony doors which were the only source of natural light, had see through curtains, meaning we had to hide around corners just to get changed in our own room or close the curtains just to lie in bed. otherwise the rooms were comfortable all though there were a lot of ants everywhere. We paid for a double bed and we’re given two single beds next to each other, they were on wheels so didn’t stay together and moved apart whenever we moved. The website advertised a heated pool which one of the main reasons we chose this resort, only to arrive and find out the heating was not on in any of the pools so they were freezing! The entertainment staff were very nice and friendly and so were the reception and maids, but I feel that the staff especially in the restaurants did the bare minimum to make guests comfortable. In terms of the food, there were only 2/3 new dishes and at times these were extremely salty and not edible, or overcooked, there was a open grill which would’ve been a nice touch but all of the meat was precooked and left on the grill until a guest asked for it, making the meat very chewy! The other meats were nice but any sort of vegetables were simply boiled or boiled with a bit of cream poured on top, no seasoning at all, and every day the source of carbs was just boiled baby potatoes or the same rice which lacked a lot of flavour. One of the days had sushi and a lovely selection Of food but after this it was all downhill and the same food, the desserts were the same every single day, the only things changing was the colour with the exact same flavour. The lunch bar for all inclusive services wrapped up burgers or hotdogs, but had been left out so long the bread was all stale and not appetising at all. The evening entertainment was good and did vary daily which was nice. All inclusive bars were good as we could get any unbranded alcohol of choice, free beer and soft drinks / slush which was all self service, with free self serve beer, wines and rosé at dinner. As a beach resort we expected to be able to use the beach chairs for free, but these weren’t part of the hotel and could only be used if paid for, unlike most other beach resorts. We were also very disappointed having all inclusive and finding out we had to pay money daily just to have our beach towels cleaned and pay a £10 deposit on top of that. We also found that the lighting around the hotel rooms was lacking, especially in the evening some areas were very dark and our room being right at the top of a set of stairs, didn’t same too safe. All separate areas of the resort needed key cards for access which was good for safety, but some didn’t work so we would have to wait for another guest to open the door for us. There is a on site supermarket which is slightly overpriced, but very useful for essentials or last minute snacks. Overall the stay was pleasant but especially due to food, we thought there’s a lot of space for improvement

Stayed here in November 2019 with my husband. Whilst bungalows do need a revamp the location is great and staff are friendly.
However there are too many levels of board and the All Inclusive definitely does NOT live up to what is expected in a 4 star hotel.
The only inside bar open at night is a Theatre Bar. That is exactly what it is, a bar to watch the evening entertainment so chairs are in rows, not comfortable and you can't sit and chat with other guests due to layout. There is no atmosphere pre dinner to go for a drink as entertainment doesn't comes on till 9. We (and many other AI guests) found ourselves going to bars outside hotel to get atmosphere, relax and chill. The hotel promotes that guests receive 15% off at a number of local bars, which is great if your B &B, self catering etc but AI have already paid full price for this service. You have to pay for bottled water, unless you walk to Reception (which can be a distance dependant on room number) to get a glass from demi john. Breakfasts are good but evening food and lunch are very repetitive, no theme nights,no upgrades on site (one nearby restaurant offers you the 15% off bill similar to drinks offer which is ridiculous) so again for a change you end up paying to go to a local restaurant. I have been in correspondence with tour operator (Jet 2) since our return but they do not want to know as they are getting 'some' good reviews but this will be from B & B, self catering, part board guests etc.
We came out in bed bug bites when we returned to UK some 3 - 4 days later. Pharmacist advised what they were and we had to treat whole house. I sent photos of spots to tour operator but they wanted photos of the bed bugs!!! How could we take photos when we didn't know we had been bitten? It is 'usual' for these bites not to come out for several days after being bitten.
I asked hotel on check out for questionnaire and was advised it would come by email - I'm still waiting...…………...
Will definitely not return.

Dear guest, We are sincerely grateful for the time you spent to share your comments on your recent stay in our hotel, your detailed review will certainly assist in order to keep on improving the quality of our services for our valued guests. We are sorry if our All Inclusive plan did not meet you expectations. For the next time we encourage you to contact us directly before coming or the Barceló Call Center and we will be pleased to explain you all the details about that. We have also taken good note of your remarks on the dining expériences and sincerely lament reading that we fell short of your culinary expectations on this occasion, although I would like to take the opportunity to point out that our Executive Chefs follow a two weeks menu rotation including a wide array of both local and international delicacies to cater for all diet requirements and please the most demanding palates, this is why we are sorry to read that we were not able to conquer yours and will make sure to discuss your critics with our team. We sincerely lament your experience with the insects when staying among us and would like to take the opportunity to clarify that we follow very strict protocols to guarantee satisfying results regarding hygiene and cleanliness in our hotels, in order to avoid any type of insect. Besides, we did not have any case related with bed bugs at that time. However for a next time, we highly recommend you to inform our reception in order to assist you. Thank you again for your visit and constructive comments, our primary goal being to assure our guests feel comfortable and fully enjoy their visits, we are eager to regain your confidence during another occasion if you gave us that chance. We stayed here July 2020 and cannot express how brilliant the experience was. From the moment we checked in, the receptionist noticed my wife used a walking stick and even without us asking she offered to move us to a bungalow which was closer to everything (the restaurant, beach etc). Our maid (Maria) was the best. Everything was so clean and well maintained. Social distancing/sanitising was taken very seriously, in fact, we felt safer here than back home. Every single member of staff was so polite and nothing was too much trouble. The bungalow we stayed in was very very good, very spacious and really comfortable (beds are great). The hotel is in a superb location, a stones through from the beach and harbour. Very short walk into the town too. We were all inclusive and the food was great and varied from day to day, the only critisicism is that some more choice is needed for children - burgers and hot dogs everyday, my daughter did love the cheesy pasta though! The evening entertainment was good too and very varied from singers, harpists to magicians. We are hoping to visit again in October (air bridges permitting). Hope to see you all soon!!

Now the main problem I have is that my last two holidays (pre covid) were in Mexico and dominican Republic, where we spent mega-bucks on a bit of luxury. Its hard not to use these as a comparison to this one so I will try to be fair. The rooms (apartments) are functional, comfortable and perfectly nice. the beds are comfy with clean white linin. Cleaners come in every day but for some reason don't touch the kitchen. We were all inclusive and there are no tea/coffee provided in the rooms, luckily I always bring tea bags and milk sachets on holiday but I'm sure as hell not bringing/buying washing up liquid, dish cloth and tea towel to clean our crockery, this should really be done by the cleaning staff and I'm not sure why it isn't. A word of warning, leave one of the door cards in the slot by the front door to keep the electrics on when you go out otherwise THE FRIDGE WILL SWITCH OFF!! very bad design on the hotel's part, more so for self catering guests, I just had to cope with room temperature wine! Don't try to follow the signage around the rooms to get to where you're going, it's very confusing! You may as well leave a trail of breadcrumbs, which also won't help but at least you'll have fed the wildlife. (seriously, it's a bloomin maze)!
The buffet food was much the same as anywhere else, at times a bit cold, a bit greasy and a bit repetitive. We ate out a few times. There is a bar near the pool and restaurant which serves alcoholic drinks but what annoys me is that there are only a small percentage of drinks available on the AI, the rest you have to pay for. I wish these places would just have everything available if you're AI as it's neither one thing or the other! Behind the pool bar is a self service snack bar which does chips, hot dogs, burgers, pastries, sandwiches, ice cream soft drinks, hot drinks and beer. Again the food is a bit 'meh'.
The pool areas are really nice but (note to management) lose the music! Pretty much everyone has their own play lists nowadays but sometimes the pool music is so loud you can't hear you own! There's just no need for music bearing out all day.
There is a theatre and another bar further down serving the same as the pool bar along with ice cream and coffee. The shows are average and what you expect.
There is a suviner shop and mini market by reception for any bits and bobs you need.
A nice place but I wouldn't rush back as there are hotels of this standard the world over!

On The whole what you would expect for a three star not four star accomodation simple but comfortable individual bungalows are spacious with kitchenette and patio area TV with BBC one and four, food average, sadly it's advertised as having a gymn and spa which is lovely but you have to pay 20euros a day for this on top of the cost of your holiday the unheated pools are free, sunloungers on beach are not they are 7-10 euros also 3 euros a day for a safe key and 10 euros refundable for pool towel so take money with you ! The location is good and the staff are helpful. There are improvements that could be made but generally it's a good holiday and near airport. Would I visit again? Yes but would upgrade to the royal level which has better food and accomodation but not sure if you get use if the spa?!

Stayed here for eleven days in February 2022.
My bungalow was very clean and tidy, cleaners came in each day.
The towels were thick, soft and snow white, changed daily along with the bedding.
Check in was very efficient, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
All the staff we came across were very pleasant and nothing was to much trouble.
There is a small supermarket on site, prices were the same as the supermarket in the town.
A five minute walk into Caleta de Fuste, plenty of eating places.
We were self catering, however, on a couple of occasions, we ate in the restaurant, the food was plentiful and hot, tasty and well presented.
The three pools were clean and well looked after, plenty of sunbeds to go round.
Our room had a hairdryer and a direct dial telephone, also a safe which could be hired for three euros per day.
Beach towels can also be hired for a ten euro deposit, refundable at the end of your holiday.
All in all a lovely place to stay, very relaxing and safe.
It was my Birthday whilst here, a nice touch was a card, cake and a bottle of Cava left in the room for our return from the pool.
I would not hesitate to recommend this place to friends and family and I definitely will be back again next year.
