+-+ BEWARE the CAR PARKING FEEs +-+ These fees seem to vary from $20 to $60 per night and came as an unexpected add on to the cost. Spectacular view from small apartment. Kitchen facilities just adequate - we stayed 4 nights and were allotted 2 rolls of toilet paper 2 sachets of dish washing liquid / 2 DW tabs .... but enough shampoo and handwash for a year ? Bizarre! Lifts can be a wait at peak times. View and location are the drawcards.

The Gold Coast has many accommodation choices and Broadbeach is a busy area. Next to The Star casino you will find the Residences and The Dorset. The former are apartments generally individually owned. My experience was just fair for the following reasons 1 check in was delayed by 3 hours Simply not acceptable 2 there is no servicing of the apartments unless you pay an extra fee. No problem but serious mess from other rooms remained in the hallway untouched for our 4 night stay 3 guests to The Dorset consistently tried to access The Star and vice versa Poorly signed 4 walking access in and out involved crossing traffic as no internal lifts from the casino 5 construction noise on an adjoining tower to the south was overbearing and no warning given before booking
On a positive note the reception lady was superb If you want to stay at the casino the it’s ok. Otherwise there are better alternatives

Firstly the Star Residences definitely suit those who are looking for more of a self contained apartment type stay rather than a hotel. It is a very large complex. It is close to a major shopping centre and the beach is within walking distance not too far away. I had read numerous reviews about rude staff so when I had an issue I was expecting the worse. To my surprise the team and in particular the manager Ashley exceeded my expectations in being of assistance. Very helpful and understanding. They turned my issue around and made me feel like a valued guest!

We stayed at The Star Residences in December (it was our 4th visit). We love the location it is a short walk across to The Oasis shopping area - which has a great collection of eating places, shopping and a Woolworths supermarket. It is also located close to Pacific Fair. We have always booked directly on The Star Residences booking site. I always request parking and book a service for the apartment (normally stay 9 days) and on checking in I request a 2nd service for the room as it won't let me do this online. Parking is secure on an upper level. Check in can be a little bit slow (we had a girl training) but any issues have quickly been attended to (last time I requested a room move). Lifts can be slow at peak times but generally have no waited more than 5-10 minutes. We also love that if you don't feel like going outside the complex that you can find a number off eating places inside. Overall would recommend and can't wait till our next visit

Check in people are extremely rude and unprofessional. They need to be educated in manners. I paid for “guaranteed parking” told them my car was a 4wd. When I arrived the ride concierge told me to drive back onto the highway, then over the bridge to the casino and find parking. The carport is too low for 4wd. I went to casino reception. 2.1 meter car park is $65 a night. They waived the fee as they know I was bucket around by the residences staff. While I’m spending 40 minutes trying to park and find my way back the residences reception would not let my wife and kids into the room even though my wife is on the booking and I had “rechecked in” my kids needed to use a bathroom. Reception told them to go to the casino. Very poor service.

We booked via Booking.com. We paid $7k for a 2 bedroom apartment, 5 adults sharing only ONE bathroom. We stayed on level 34.
The shower had horrible water flow.
We had no access to the outdoor pool on level 6. This facility is only available if you book via The Star directly.
You are given only ONE key to your room which you need to collect from a box near the Oasis shopping centre.
The minimum elevator wait time to go up or down was 25 mins any time throughout the day. Mornings were close to 40 mins, and every elevator ride was overcrowded.
The beds and pillows were uncomfortable. The bedding was two flat sheets and a think blanket.
Our holiday was overshadowed by the discomfort and inconvenience.

Read through some of the past reviews and was surprised at some of the bad ones as we had absolutely no problems staying here, in fact, we loved it and would definitely return! The staff were relatively friendly but I only had to talk to them on check in and check out and had no issues. The longest we had to wait for a lift was maybe 5 minutes if that, no problems there either. Loved that we could just go down the lift and the casino entrance was right there. The casino is great!! The view from our beautiful room (floor 35) was awesome, love the floor to ceiling windows and the balcony. We had everything we needed in the room. We stayed for 3 nights but I wish we could have stayed longer. We were given 2 key cards for the door, I believe some rooms are privately owned so are managed by the owners rather than the hotel. We booked through booking.com had no problems. Walking distance to brilliant shops and restaurants. The pool on level 6 was closed due to maintenance but due to open a week later but there’s a pool on level 20 and on the ground floor as well.

This is our 2nd visit & again can't fault The Star Residences. Staff are friendly & you definately can't bet the location. The accommodation is located within an easy walking distance to Pacific Fair & over to many, many eating places at Broadbeach. Check in was fast & friendly. We also booked in carparking & servicing to the apartment every second day. Our room had superb views to the ocean & into Surfers. Would highly recommend & can't wait to stay again

Currently staying at the Residences for 4 nights. The reception staff are incompetent, rude and need retraining immediately!! The lifts are slow, which if you allow the extra time (sometimes up to 30mins) it’s not too bad and you get to chat to others staying. The general consensus was how rude and awful the front of house was! My husband witnessed them turn away in a very rude manner a lady trying to check in after booking on a third party site. The front of house is the first point of contact and it is deplorable! We had stayed at the Grand the night before after arriving earlier than expected and the staff/service was amazing! So my suggestion would be stay at the Grand, or the Meriton across the road if you need apartment style. Maybe the new owners can do better!!

Stayed in the 1BR, study, ocean view. Fantastic stay. I booked direct through The Star, requested an early 11am check in and a high level and both were granted. Good amenities in the apartment, clean and quiet, comfortable bed. Ceiling fans in addition to very effective air con are fantastic for the humid summer. Stunning views over GC high rises and the ocean. Other reviews complain about lifts, I had no issue even in peak time. I used both pools - when Isoletto was crowded or I wanted to get out of the sun and chill out in a quieter place I went to the L20 pool. Gym good too, but probably could do with a few fans. My only criticism would be the blinds are not block out - the sun rises early in summer so better block out curtains/blinds would be nice to avoid a 430/5am wake up!
