I stayed here with my two teenage children for 4 nights. Our first impression when we pulled up was "oh boy, this doesn't look good". However, when we got up to our unit, it was clean and tidy and very spacious. I believe that some of the units have had some restorations done, our unit hadn't, but there was nothing wrong with the unit. The managers were very friendly, couldn't complain about them in any way at all. The beach was less than a block away which is ideal when you have teenagers!! The mall was a bit over a block away, again a bonus with teenagers!! There is a park straight across the road as well. All the restaurants of Broadbeach are just a block away, which is ideal for night time. The main bus stop is two blocks away, situated near the Convention Centre. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay here. It is definitely good value for money. The only time we moved the car, was when it rained at night and we were going out for dinner to a restaurant which was about 21/2 blocks away. My teenagers loved the location of the apartments and would be very happy to stay there again.

The only downfall to our stay at Broadbeach was totally unrelated to the units. On our last day, after checkout, we went to the beach, and both mine and my daughters handbags were stolen off the beach (niave enough to think they would be ok with our stuff and covered). This experience was very upsetting and disruptive as we had to cancel all our cards, my daughters iphone, ipod and her watch were in her bag. As my car keys were in mine, that then meant having to get racq to break into our car, just so we could get home. We spent an hour and a half combing the beach and the parks bins, toilets etc in the hope of finding them, and got ourselves some very nasty sunburns. Our bags were located 15mins away later in the day in a bin, minus the iphone and ipod....very disappointing for my daughter. Very grateful to the manager of the units that located our bags and called us. Don't leave valuables on the beach!!!

My husband and I took our two grandsons aged 10 and 9 for 6 days. It doesn't look much from the outside but our room had been done up a little while ago and was very nice and the furniture was very nice. The lounge suite was one of the most comfortable we have found to sit on, of all the other places that we have stayed at.Very handy to the restaurants and supermarket. Great pool and spa area. Manager very nice and helpful. Would stay there again.

My wife and I stayed here with our two children for a week. The building isn't flash compared to many others nearby, -from the outside it's a rather drab 8 story rectangular block with nothing of note. But the location coupled with the price makes it hard to beat. It was comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Fantastic park just across the road and then wonderful beach next to that. Great shops, restaurants, cafes, surf club, pubs, etc a couple of minutes walk away. The manager was great, very friendly. Pool was good.

As for the unit we had, - it was spacious, clean and homely. The beds were comfy, which isn't always the case. The furniture in the living room wasn't ideal for us.

If I had one grizzle, it would be the garaging, parking was a bit of a nuisance, but that was partly due to the car I had on this occasion.

Would I stay here again? Probably. I've stayed many times on the Gold Coast and I really liked this location, so if I'm coming back and find this place has the best rate, certainly would be happy to come back.

I stayed here in November for the groundwater festival. The manager was extremely rude and standoffish. I had some friends come stay over, they parked in the visitor carpark (completely legal) and he put tow away notes on their cars. the room was filthy, dust and grime everywhere. this place needs new management and a serious overhaul. wish there was an option to give this 0 stars.

We were a group of 4 young professionals travelling to the Gold Coast to celebrate the new year.
When we arrived it looked like the building has been abandoned. The lights are hanging with rust and the building just needs some love as it looks extremely run down. The other reviews say 1960's which I think is just a polite way of saying rubbish.

Once the property manager had finished talking to one of the apartment block's residents, i.e after 10 minutes, we were finally acknowledged.
The property manager asked us who we were, at first denied having a booking with us and then, having found us, started reeling off loads of rules- before we had even checked in. He then started to explain that the reason we were kept waiting was because the resident he was talking too was complaining about the noise.

For all those travelling there, the rules are, no noise on the balcony (past 10pm) No noise in the swimming pool area etc etc.
We are not a rowdy bunch of travellers but you would expect to have noise on NYE at 12pm right? Right from the get go we were treated like a bunch of 18 year old party animals who intended on trashing the place.

We asked if we could check in a 5th person and were just given a mouthful of cheek. We had only booked this apartment because it had two bedrooms and two bathrooms and was quite clearly advertised as easily accommodating 5 people if necessary. The property manager told us that the 5th person could not stay because he did not have enough bed linen and he would not let anyone sleep on the sofa as the sofa was too good quality.
A wee flicker of hope for us here, as based on this hopefully the apartment would be nicer than the block.
The property manager eventually agreed to the 5th person staying however we would have to make do without any linen for him for the first few nights (but still pay the extra linen charges for the whole length of stay) this was no problem as we were perfectly happy to pay an extra charge for an extra person.

Then We Were Taken To The Apartment.
What A Dump. Good Quality Sofas. I'm guessing he means by this 'Not completely Trashed'. I don't even know where to start. Probably with 'it smelt like an old person had died'. If the room isn't going to be clean at least make it smell clean.

We were given a lengthy speech from the property manager about how he takes great pride in his cleaning skills as he cleans each of the apartments himself, as well as doing all the maintenance. It was a very awkward position as we felt we could not tell him the apartment was actually really grubby. By this I mean, the toilet seat was clean, but everything else in the toilet had not been cleaned in months. You could just tell by the smell.

When the property manager left us to unpack we started to notice more and more things that were wrong with the apartment;
Walls that hadn't been painted since it was built,
Carpet that smelt as though they had never had a proper clean,
Beds, poorly made and questionably clean, I did not check the mattresses as frankly I was afraid of what I might find
Bedroom fans that did not work,
Rust in the clothes washing machine,
holes in the insect screens that cover the doors and windows,
A seaview that didn't actually exist,
A balcony which didn't have space for 4 people to sit
Even if there was space, no outdoor furniture (all the seats were broken)
Air con that was thick with mould,
Internal lights that were covered in rust
No second bathroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And although we cant prove anything, we all sat on the sofas when we were waiting for a resolution from booking.com and when we left the apartments all of us had small bites on the backs of our legs.
You are starting to get the jist of it. I have not mentioned anything about the kitchen as again I didn't inspect in great detail as was too afraid of what I might find.
We are not posh travellers and we always stay in three star so know exactly what to expect and this apartment was strictly below par.

We had booked through booking.com and rang them to understand our options. booking.com rang the property manager who came to talk to us.
While I was on the phone to booking.com I could hear the property manager raising his voice at my friends in the other room. He was arguing with one of the boys about the state of the aircon- a brave move as this guest is actually a fully qualified plumber and mechanical engineer.

Finally, we had booked the apartment on our debit cars (to pay the deposit) and when we checked out later that night we were told by booking.com that no payment would be taken, and if payment had to be made, that they had organised it to be taken from our credit cards. The next morning when we went to hand in the keys, the property manager had already taken the payment (in badness) from the debit account. This wouldn't have been so bad if we were expecting this to happen but as already explained this was not the case.
When we asked if he could refund the money and we would pay by credit card, we were given another load of cheek. This was all over intercom as the property manager refused to come down and talk to us. This issue is yet to be resolved we have still not been issued a refund.

We were only in the apartment from 3pm to 11pm and from start to finish the experience was harrowing.

The owner of this rental apartments should be ashamed of themselves for false advertisement.

The only positive points were its location, from the brief time we were there we noticed it was close to the beach and the strip and the apartment was large but in this instance it just meant more grubby space we did not want to use....
Oh and don't even get me started on the tin shed they are calling the lift.....................

As a couple with a young family we booked a two bedroom apartment.
The building itself is very dated, the room itself was probably more of a two star standard and nothing like the photos.
There was large lumps of paint hanging from the ceiling and holes in all the fly screens.
The management of the building were terrible, and rude.

Children did not seem welcome at all and children's play and laughter around the pool also seemed unwelcome.
By the end of the stay we were creeping around whispering to avoid upsetting the grumpy management.

On check out I again experienced the most rude behavior and even had to listen to abusive language.

I would not even stay in these apartments if it was free for a week.

Book in at your peril.......and be prepared for the standard " it's only three star" answer, and some aggressive language.

The location is the ONLY great thing. Our unit was old, with tired furnishings and screen doors that would not shut or even lock. Felt as though we were back in the 1960's. The building is old and rundown. Awful lift, car parking not clearly labelled. Overpriced......paying for the location. Will never stay here again.

If you want plush, this isn't the holiday place for you. It is for you if you want comfortable, clean, well managed. 2 bedrooms, mostly 2 baths, lock up garage for 1 car. 2 blocks from Oasis mall. Very near Pacific Fair mall & Jupiter's casino & the Convention Centre. Halt a block to the beach. We stay here every year - have come here nearly 20 years.

It's a good place to stay if you like walking into a messy apartment that hasn't been cleaned. Its nice to see dirty towels on the bathroom floor so you can shower with other people's pre used towels. I thought that was a lovely surprise. Sand through the apartment gives the floor a little extra touch of being by the beach. I personally loved walking on sand inside the apartment. Oh and the best part was sleeping on dirty bed sheets that other people have used. If this all sounds good you should meet the management. I personally like being spoken to like I'm a common street walker. I guess if you prefer somewhere to stay where its clean and has nice management then this is definitely not the place for you.
