Have visited Ocean Royale many times over the years, after being overseas for the last few years we decided to have a 2 week holiday at Ocean Royale again and asked for a 2 bedroom apartment on a high floor. We were given a apartment up high and luckily we were given the apartment we stayed in before, it is a corner apartment with great views of the beach and Broadbeach and back to the gold coast hinter land. The apartment was getting a bit old looking, were were very disappointed with how unclean and very dirty all of the cutlery and crockery was, we had to wash everything ourselves, looking in the dishwasher well OMG it was so dirty it was obvious it hadn't been cleaned in many years, I washed out everything thoroughly and bought some dishwasher cleaner. There were also some documents including an invoice from someone else under one of the sofas. The cleaning staff obviously do not clean properly.
As the apartment is privately owned many of the storage areas were locked, from our opinion too many things were locked, we had to live out of our suitcases, as we rented the apartment for 2 weeks we expect to be able to empty the suitcases into the chest of draws but alas that was locked too.
The location is in a good location, the pools etc are in a good order, the management staff reasonably friendly. Correspondence when booking was ok. We were a little disappointed with our experience this time, will be looking elsewhere next holiday to the gold coast

The apartments are situated in a great location only 5 minutes walk to the Bowling Club, 10 minutes to the Broadbeach restaurant area and 20 minutes to Surfers. Located just a block from the beach it is a lovely spot to enjoy the area on foot. Our 2 bedroom apartment was spacious but the decor was dated. The balcony was narrow and although we had a view of the ocean it was from a distance. Unfortunately the apartment needed a good clean. The kitchen floor needed a scrub and dust was located on surfaces which looked like they hadn't been wiped down in weeks. We enjoyed a comfortable stay but the cleaners definitely need to do a better job. Furnishings can be old but cleanliness is imperative for holiday accommodation.

We had a great stay at the Ocean Royale! I guess the thing about the rooms is they are all privately owned and it is the luck of the draw which room (or cleaners apparently!) you get.

Our room was comfortable and clean. We stayed in a 2 bedroom ocean view apartment and were very happy (Level 4, room 18). I'm not sure if they all have ensuites but I didn't know and was pleasantly surprised :) Oh and it had a bath which was great

The bathrooms were renovated but the kitchen wasn't but still did the trick, it had a dishwasher and was fine. Of course be aware that you only get very limited supplies of dishwashing and washing liquid (no dish washing tabs).

The indoor pool is so lovely and warm the kids loved it in there! The outdoor pool is heated too and was also great.

Location is good, a bit of a walk for things (well 10 minutes to Oasis - I guess I'm being super lazy!) but you're right across the road from the beach and the swimming flags.

The tennis court is tiny and there are just some old racquets and balls you can borrow, but it was fun to take the kids for a hit and not have to worry about booking and paying for it!

For the price we were really happy with this place. The outside of the building and the lift, halls etc are very dated but we don't care at all about that.

I had saved all year to take my family here for xmas ! We had booked the penthouse costing $3200 for 5 nights. We booked in Xmas eve and left Tuesday morning ! I paid for the penthouse to get 3 bedrooms and our own dunk pool. When we arrived the pool area had broken glass we had to clean up , the pool had stuff on the bottom and was dirty and slimy. Due to xmas, pool cleaner didn’t come until Monday and we were advised not to use pool until Monday afternoon although reception blamed a storm the week before but cleaner found rusty bottle caps on floor of pool so hadn’t been cleaned since last stay! Xmas morning went to cook breakfast but had to wash up all pans and dishes we wanted to use as stained with dirty food. Iron threw the power and no lights in main bedroom. I understand Xmas holidays would make it hard but if room was cleaned and checked properly before we moved in this would have been found. I did approach resort to give them opportunity to reimburse me but have not heard a response . It was a hard year and i saved hard for this family holiday and feel like i didn’t get my moneys worth . It was very disappointing and i will not be recommending this place to any of friends or business associates!!

We booked the penthouse , a 2 bed , and a 1 bed unit . These units are extremely dirty and the cleaner needs to be sacked . All windows were so dirty they had face marks and finger marks all over them , There was dust on the tables , hair in the showers, the bed was comfortable although was disgusting with no mattress protector and a valance that was just thrown underneath the mattress . We only had 2 glasses in unit but on approaching the manager on site he brought up more glasses to each unit .. The 2 glasses we had in the cupboard were a filthy they hadn’t even been washed …. Although the view was great , these units ( all of them ) were disgusting and reading through previous comments , obviously nothing has happened in regard to trying to make them cleaner . We will never stay here again , very dissatisfied as this is our beautiful Gold Coast. The penthouse had old furniture even thrown around the side thst you could see through the bedroom window …. Please look into this cleanliness .

I would never recommend this hotel and what not revisit again. I prepaid to stay in a one bedroom apartment for three nights. The rating by Qantas was 4 stars!
Whole apartment lacked cleanliness and maintenance. Rooms’ carpets were grubby ,with a significant accumulation of dirt and dust in all rooms. I found this out when attempting to plug in power cords for mobile phones. PowerPoints limited and difficult to access. Not suitable for ‘older persons”
Two main lights, lounge and dining area did not work. One bedroom bedside light had a bulb that was broken, issue for night time toilet trips! Basic old fashioned tv only channels could be watched but there was an old DVD player. No internet streaming services!
Wifi was intermittent causing great frustration as it was being relied on to use own device for streaming services. and required hotel staff coming to address the issue.
The odour of carpets in corridor was significantly unpleasant. Could have been due to pest control spraying being done that day.
Reception was open only during business hours.

Stayed in an apartment high up in building. Good views accross the water. Room convenient and clean. Seperate bedroom from lounge. Found the check in 'clunky' becasue our flight was delayed and we had to use the after hours service. You stand at the outer door and obtain access. Then in the inner courtyard another phone call on the intercom is necessary becasue the second door also needs to be opened. Would stay there again.

This is an older property, but don’t let it put you off. The view was amazing and the appartment really spacious. We had a fantastic 5 days there. The pool and bbq area was were brilliant and Alex, who was on the desk, was always super helpful! This was a last minute booking following some covid shenanigans and a booking we were very glad we made!

We stayed here in May last year ( for Broadbeach Blues ), booked for 4 days had to leave after 2 ( Family sickness) no refund or credit. Booked for the 2024 Broadbeach Blues on departure and were asked when we would be able to remove our bags. I have been trying to confirm the price for 2024 for 3 months now and just got the price 40 percent increase.

Well it’s a truly beautiful view, and I guess the couch was comfortable. But apart from that:

Reception was not open for a 2pm Saturday check in.

Our room was still being cleaned so we could not go in and had to take our bags back to the basement.

Old, dirty.

One shower did not work. The shower head was broken. In the other shower the hot and cold taps had been swapped. There were no face washers. There was shampoo but no conditioner.

No blankets on beds and the ones in the cupboard were dusty.

The next door unit contained a continual smoker. We couldn’t keep our windows open and the foyer stank unbearably.

And you are forced to take out your own rubbish at the end of your stay but the garbage room is as far from reception as you can get.

Reception were unavailable and unhelpful.
