We were looking for a place in Timaru and all were sold out so stayed at the Phoenix in Temuka instead. Clean and tidy. Good value for money. Easy to find. Comfortable bed. Had a kitchen as well. Not sure we could have asked for more! We’d stay here again.

We stopped in here for one night and business. The room was clean comfortable and had everything you would need. The parking was easy and it is a short walk to restuarants and town. The only thing we had a problem with was the road noise. I am not sure if all rooms would be as bad but ours was on the second floor and facing the main road. Others may be used to this but we aren't and it did interfer with our sleep. Apart from the noise it was a good place to stay and well located.

Beds were super comfy and our 2 bedroom room was huge! great for young children with plenty of space inside and the lawn right out the back door. Motel is the cleanest I have ever seen and was great that the room got refreshed when we were out. The owner was great to us and showed my husband to our room plus turned on the heater which was awesome when we were getting in late at night. We hardly noticed the traffic on Sunday morning but was a bit louder on Saturday - nothing some ear plugs can't fix. We will definitely be choosing to stay at the phoenix motel again.

We stayed here as a large group and were very pleased. It is very clean, rooms well appointed with all the amenities you should need. Some rooms a bit noisy with the traffic, but really not a major consideration. We would definitely return.

Great accommodation but the location is pretty grey. Friendly host. Modern, clean facilities. Rates are a bit high for the location relative to cities where due to Covid hotels are competing on price.

Very nice well appointed rooms. Great bed and small kitchenette. Only gripe would be if you are on the ground floor and the person on top floor start the spa bath the droning noise is very load. Next time i will ask for a 2nd story room

It was running late and we looked on Ebookers for somewhere to stay, this place popped up as close by and good ratings, We have virtually no experience of motels, but I have to say we where impressed, the room was large and spotlessly clean, it had a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, extra pillows, 42” tv, sky, iron, tea /coffee/milk, table/chairs, settee and spa bath, Very impressed with effort put into making this motel a home from home, We couldn’t have had an easier and more pleasant check in and stay at a five star hotel,

We had a great stay here in this motel. Nice clean rooms, bed a bit bouncy and sofa uncomfortable like others have said but it was quiet and clean. Daughter loved the spa bath.Thanks so much for a good stay.

Thank you for bringing to my attention that you found the sofa uncomfortable, they are new sofas but are a lot hard than the one I tried before ordering them, I am hoping they will get softer as they are used but I will be testing them to check if this happens or I will have to rethink my choice. We were very impressed with how clean this motel is. Good space and warm. The only thing I would take a point off for is the road noise it would have been good to have had a unit not on the road side as it was a Saturday night. But overall very good.

How DIFFICULT is it for some folk to be friendly? Da WanderingWabbits pulled into Phoenix Motel after pushing through a heavy rainstorm. The duty manager could barely drag himself from his computer to show us the room. No cheery welcome, no pleasantries, it wouldn't have hurt him to SMILE! Ahhhhh well, it was just an overnight stay. The bedside lamp bulb blew as soon as I switched it on: it was too late in the evening to trouble Mr Happy for a replacement. There was a fair bit of traffic noise from the main highway the motel sits on. At least the bed was ok...and the bathroom was supa-clean!
