We were very lucky to have booked this motel, Sally the owner was very helpful in sending some valuables we left in the room. Sterling service. We had room 7, excellent with a little garden we sat out and ate in. The kitchen facilities were more than adequate and more than most motels we stayed in. Great bed, good shower. What's not to like.
Great people own this place and that's a real plus. To be truthful it feels dated decor wise and we found the beds very hard but if you needed support for a bad back it would be good. Nice little play area for kids and it had covered parking which we thought was a great asset. Good rate for the night.
Rangiora Lodge Motel is an older motel, however it is clean and has fresh paint. The kitchen area was functional but original. Bed is comfortable. Shower was good There is undercover parking for your car. The owners are friendly helpful people. We asked about dinner options and they recommended The Plough Hotel about 200 metres away on the same street as the motel. This was a good place to eat and the hotel has been trading since 1861 so it has that nice old feel.
Six motel units with sheltered and numbered car parks in a semi rural setting within walking distance of the town centre. Our Unit was spacious with quality areas and could sleep 3 people. Friendly and professional service all at a very reasonable price. It was recommended to us by a local friend and she could noit be more right!
We stayed here for two nights while researching family history in the Rangiora area. The unit was somewhat dated but was generally well maintained with comfortable beds, new appliances and furnishings. An exception was the multifunction oven which did not work. The owner diagnosed a faulty wall switch for it which an electrician replaced the following day. This was appreciated but we still couldn't use it for frying a steak because the round-bottom frying pan had little contact with the hotplate. The unit was quiet despite being on a main road with little traffic during the night. Parking under cover is a bonus to shield the car from the hot sun. Apart from the kitchen problems, we were pleased with the unit. Having a courteous and helpful host makes things easy when there are issues like the cooker not working. If we needed to stay in Rangiora again, we wouldn't hesitate to return to this motel. We felt it was good value, being cheaper than most Christchurch motels.…
