My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Seatonwood Villas at the conclusion of our 24-day cycling trip to New Zealand. Both Sheryl and Pete (as well as Leila, Blue, and Scruffy!) were so very warm and welcoming upon our arrival. Our dinner (thank you for including us with no advance notice) and conversation were fabulous, and we enjoyed a great night of sleep in their beautiful and comfortable room. They have certainly thought of every need of travelers, and the room was welcome, beautiful, and spotlessly clean. We were sorry that Pete had an early start on the next day, but had a lovely time at breakfast with Sheryl. Thank you both for your great hospitality. We fell in love with New Zealand and count both of you among the many warm and wonderful Kiwis who made our trip absolutely magical. We hope to stay with you again on our next trip, and we will stay more than one night to ensure we have the chance to explore the surrounding areas.…
This is a very nice B&B and Sheryl is a very kind host. We were there only briefly for one night, we had to fly next morning. The room is functional and spacious and a proper bathroom all very clean. The early breakfast was good and Sheryl was really kind.
Visiting a country on a holiday and seeing the sites is one thing, but meeting and having conversations and laughing with people that live in that country is another thing! Meeting Sheryl and Pete during the last two days of our holiday in New Zealand was the icing and the cherry on the cake.Sharing their warmth, humour and kindness gave more meaning to our visit. We always 'thought' New Zealanders were great now we 'know' they are. We had a very enjoyable stay and great talks around the dinner table. Some very good cooking going on for both Breakfast and dinner. Don't forget to book that as well. I would recommend a minimum of three nights. Thanks so much Sheryl and Pete. We loved it, and if we return to NZ we will will certainly drop in to Seatonwood again!
A good place to stay after a long flight: it is located in a rural area, not far from the city. Nice rooms, good bathroom, very friendly and helpfull hosts. Great food. Not far from the wine region: this B&B is just the place you want to be for a good rest and some relaxed sightseeing.
We booked for one night but were so impressed that we stayed two; it was such a short drive from Christchurch where errands and business were awaiting. Sheryl and Pete even provided transport to and from the wedding reception venue, saving us finding our own way after the festivities. Breakfasts were delicious, and they even recorded the All Blacks Test for us to enjoy the morning after. This is a lovely setting, superb accommodation, interesting hosts and can be sure we'll return soon. .
