We are a NO SMOKING and NO VAPING motel - all rooms have air conditioning, soundproofing & double glazing and tasteful decor. Modern & contemporary; prices start from NZD 175/night. At the southern end of Rangiora, we're next door to a family-friendly bar & restaurant and only a 3-minute walk from an excellent supermarket. Our northerly aspect means our rooms benefit from all day sun. There are 17 units (Studios, 1- & 2-Bedroom Suites and a 4-Bedroom Apartment). All beds have mattress toppers, comfort layers and are triple sheeted, ensuring guests the highest standard in quality bedding, cleanliness and hygiene. Each unit has an ensuite bathroom, high water pressure showers, a well-appointed kitchenette, and functional furniture. Three units on the ground floor are wheelchair accessible, complete with roll-in showers and handrails in the bathrooms. Our professional housekeepers service rooms daily upon request. On-site facilities include free parking and free, high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the complex. A continental breakfast service and a guest laundry are also available (extra charges apply). Rangiora is a thriving hub: the principal town at the heart of the Waimakariri. Local attractions include multi-award wining Waipara Valley Vineyards, and slightly further north, the spa resort town of Hanmer Springs. Good surfing beaches are nearby, and in the winter, several ski fields are less than a 2 hour’s drive away. Golfers have many choices… from good, 18-hole club options to more demanding Championship level courses. Rangiora itself has an eclectic mix of retailers – from high street chains to numerous boutique outlets and numerous cafés. A super museum, detailing the early history of Rangiora and the local district, is open on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons. Dining options abound in Rangiora and neighbouring Kaiapoi and Mandeville North. Taxi and shuttle services, if required, are best booked in advance and we can provide details if required. Uber and Ola services available. For bigger groups, the motel offers a 4-Bedroom apartment. Guests appreciate the spacious living / dining area, and that all bedrooms their own ensuite bathroom. The apartment is the ideal choice for business, sports and family groups and can be let for long- or short-term bookings. The living area is large enough to enable meetings and mini-conferences. One of the bedrooms in the apartment provides wheelchair access and facilities. Our location is close to State Highway 1, SH72 and SH71. With the enhanced northern motorway and road network, the motel is only 20 minutes from Christchurch International Airport and 30 minutes to the Christchurch CBD.

I recently had a visit to this motel, the hosts were next level helpful, nothing was to much to ask, they thought of everything, even with a early leaving to airport had put a towel on windscreen of car so as not iced up. The rooms were fantastic we had a family room, and were wrapped, fully equipped, nothing missing at all. I can not recommend more these hosts and there motel if I could give a rating of 100% I would also recommend Booking directly with them also As they give a better rate. Also rooms are incredibly sound proof, could not hear road noise at all.

We had to make a trip to Christchurch for a funeral and decided to stay in Rangiora as this is were the funeral was taking place. We called the owners direct and booked a motel for 5 nights. We were very pleased with the friendly owners namely Mike and Charlotte. We had a Spa Unit with a King Bed in the Bedroom and a Queen Bed in the Living Area. The unit was very clean and the sink was so clean and shinny that you could pat your hair in it. The pressure in the shower and the hot water was some of the best that we have had not just in New Zealand but around our many trips both here in Australia and overseas. There is a Pak N Save supermarket within walking distance and also "The Brook" hotel which has very good meals. The only thing that could be improved is the addition of Sky Television as the free to air channels do not cover a lot of sport or news, Would stay here again if needed a motel in Rangiora. There is a Guest Laundry which costs $4.00 for the Washing Machine and $4.00 for the dryer. There is also a number of clothes racks that you can take to your room to air your clothes off if you do not want to use the dryer. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. There are opening windows and also twin cycle air conditioning.

HI there - thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed and positive review - online feedback means a lot to us. We're pleased that you liked your room and enjoyed your stay, albeit not for the best of reasons. We are fortunate to have the excellent amenities nearby within walking distance. We terminated our SKY subscription at the end of last year, as their offer was increasingly uneconomic and in our view, somewhat archaic. We are moving to a platform whereby guests can use their devices to connect to the TV panels and choose to screen cast their content on a larger screen with stereo sound... sounds simple enough, but proving a challenge to deliver! We hope to see you again in the future!

We stayed at Riverstone for a family wedding. It was booked and planned for months in advance due to a family member having a disability and having extra needs. Charlotte and Mike were absolutely outstanding from the start with clear communication, timely responses and nothing was a bother. We arrived with our own electric bed and they happily moved the usual bed from the unit to allow us to use ours. This enabled my mother in law to attend her son's wedding as previously she had not spent a night away from her own home in 5 years due to previous substandard disability accommodation.

Unit 18 was well set up with ramps, roll in shower and plenty of facilities. The bedrooms were of generous sizes allowing easy use of hoist, wheelchair etc. The kitchen was well stocked which made cooking meals for 10+ people possible. Having a restaurant and Paknsav next door was an absolute bonus.

The WiFi was fast and limitless which was a bonus to keep the kids happy! Would be good if there was a chrome cast or Smart TV to connect to, however that would just be an added bonus.

Even with contact-less communication and check in, Charlotte and Mikes customer service was faultless and they still managed to be welcoming, warm and inviting.

Thank you for having us to stay and we will definitely be staying again in the future.

Hi Erin & Co. It was a real pleasure to meet you, your family and friends for the family wedding, particularly as we had got to know one another quite well in the lead up. We have three 'access' units at Riverstone Motel: that the developer had the forethought to include an access bedroom/bathroom in the 4-bedroom apartment was a masterstroke as you discovered, it provides those specialised facilities for a larger group such as yours As you and the family discovered all our rooms are fitted out with the same high quality of furniture, fittings and chattels: consistency of our guest offer is very important to us - and is a key factor in our 5-star Qualmark rating - and we appreciate that you noticed! Your comment regarding the TV's is timely: sadly Covid-19 has hampered our ability to purchase smart TV's... when you're in the market to buy 20+ screens, it does come with a hefty price tag that current (i.e. Covid impacted) income levels cannot support. That said, they are on our "improvement list" to keep our raise of motel offer further and keep us ahead of others Given the limited interaction / contactless nature of your stay, can we and our housekeepers please take this opportunity to thank you all again for keeping the 4-bedroom apartment so neat and tidy and for wielding our Dyson so well during your time with us... a great help! Do let us know if you ever move up this way and are looking for a housekeeping role! We look forward to welcoming you all back to Riverstone Motel and are chuffed that your in-laws in particular, found the 4-bedroom apartment to their liking - very good to know! 😃

Had a 2 night stay at Riverstone for a family wedding. Having the option of 2 bedrooms was good with a young adult to cater for.
Location is very good with a restaurant – The Brook – right next and recommend the food and service there, plus a supermarket is about a 2 min walk.
Room was spacious and clean, had a well equipped kitchen. Bathroom was a reasonable size and the hot water pressure was great. Beds were comfortable.
Having a unit away from the road was a bonus as it was very quiet.
Hosts were friendly and helpful, would certainly return again to stay there.

From being greeted by name when we arrived, the amazing service from Charlotte and Mike and the exceptional cleanliness of the suite, it's easy to say that Riverstone Motel exceeded our expectations.

Charlotte and Mike made it easy for us. They have a voucher system for charge back for the great pub/restaurant next door and they were able to provide us with an in-room continental breakfast. These options were perfect as we were here for work for 2 nights and had little time to go anywhere to get dinner and breakfast.

I can highly recommend Riverstone motel.

Hi there - we're so glad you enjoyed your stay and found the ease of dining at The Brook Bar next door to your liking - we, and our guests are lucky to have a good restaurant so close and the option of the excellent PAK'nSAVE supermarket a 2-3 minute walk away. We look forward to your return... more so than the local educational establishments might!! ;0) Thanks again - all the best to the three of you and thanks for your help with the Matrix!!

We spent 7 nights here at Christmas while visiting family. We were in #7 which is the 2 bedroom ground floor unit at the back of the motel. The room was very quiet and peaceful, no noise disturbances at all. Very spacious. Comfy bed. Super clean. Modern. The managers are amazing, super friendly and helpful. There is a good clean guest laundry, machines operate with $2 coins, washing powder is provided. We totally loved this place, everything was perfect. Plenty of parking. Next door to a pub/restaurant/bottle shop and next to that is the supermarket. McDonalds is just down the road. We will definitely stay here again when back in town. There is only one thing worth mentioning according to my husband - there is no Sky TV Channels which I did not care about at all but the hubby was a bit sad haha.

Hi Amanda & Simon - Happy New Year to you both! Thank you so much for leaving such a lovely review of your Riverstone Motel experience! We're so glad you really enjoyed your time with us - and catching up with friends and family! - and we look forward to your return! This year's business plan (Covid permitting!) includes the replacement of tv's with smart tv's. We dropped SKY two years ago as the cost was prohibitive and their overall offer is in decline. With the new tv's we aim to provide a simple platform for guests to connect their device to, to consume whichever service/s they subscribe to... so for SKY, most subscribers have "My SKY", so they would be able to watch whatever... whenever! That's the plan! Thanks again, we hope you enjoyed you anniversary in Wellington! Cheers, the Riverstone Motel team

Charlotte and Mike are always welcoming and ensure your stay with them is nothing by an enjoyable experience. During the winter, rooms are warm for your arrival . The rooms are a great size, great amenities and even a cheeky chocolate is left when rooms are made up. It's a quiet place where you can always get a car park off site. Will only stay here when I'm travelling to Rangiora and recommend it to my friends and colleagues.

We arrived late and tired after a very long day of driving. We received a warm, contactless welcome (under Covid conditions) and a speedy check into a very clean, spacious unit with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable night. There was dinner available if required and a delicious ample continental breakfast was provided for an early departure the following morning.

Definitely to be recommended

Hi Jean & Peter - thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review of your stay last week - we're delighted that you clearly enjoyed the Riverstone Motel experience and enjoyed a comfortable night's sleep! We reckon our breakfasts are something special - having a wonderful Pak'nSave supermarket next door, ensures we can always provide whatever guests choose from the menu, and in the case of the bread and dairy options, guests can be certain that its fresh! Covid has been a bit of a challenge and operating contactlessly doubly so, but hopefully this period will be short lived. We do hope to see you both again one day, on your next southern adventure... safe travels - always from the Riverstone Motel team

We were pleased to find such a nice motel to spend our night in Rangiora. The hosts were friendly and helpful. At the reception there was a coffee machine which was free of charge. It was lovely to have a cup of coffee on arrival after a long trip.

The room was on the ground floor, but with double grazing windows, it was very quiet !
It was very clean. The room was spacious with all the amenities that we needed - desk and 2 comfortable sofa chairs. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was good with an efficeint shower.

We really could not find any faults with our stay. Highly recommended !
