Good location with awesome views of Mount Cook from the lounge with lots of comfy couches etc. Our room however was a little disappointing. It was tiny with very soft and narrow single beds and sockets for charging phones etc were hidden behind furniture when finally found.

We had a superior King room. The bed was very comfortable but as this lodge is actually an above average back packers the rooms are very basic with thin walls. Everything was well run and the communal room a good size and a real suntrap and well stocked with basic kitchen needs. Would use again .

Other than the bed being a bit on the too-soft side, we highly recommend this place. The price would be very fair even w/o the communal kitchen & lounge, which are top notch! Views from the lounge/terrace are breathtaking. 5 stars!

We recently enjoyed a night away staying at the Alpine Lodge! Our room was so warm and comfortable with incredible views!!! Had everything we needed, and the bed was very comfy. One minute walk to the Old Mountaineers Cafe, and DOC Centre. A wonderful large communal kitchen and lounge with the most outstanding views. Hosts Tony and Adele were fantastic. We will be back, and would thoroughly recommend staying here for your adventures in Mt Cook National Park !!

Had everything I wanted with no fuss: clean, quiet and good location. Service at the front was pleasant and had good recs for nearby food and stargazing. Lots of parking space. There's no elevator but just two levels
