Theo and Diane Curtis invite you to enjoy our peaceful parklike surroundings with landscaped terraces graduating down to the Waitaki River. We are a short distance from the Hydro Lakes for boating and water sports. The Waitaki River and Lakes District is renowned for its excellent trout and salmon fishing. We have rods for hire if you wish to try fishing for the first time. We are an affordable family orientated Park and offer a safe swimming area and canoes for children. Your pets are also welcome by arrangement. Accommodation consists of tent sites, caravan / campervan powered sites, basic cabins, x2 tourist flats which are self-contained and a family tourist cabin sharing communal toilets and showers. Our Lodge sleeps 33 people. There are three separate bunk rooms available which can be booked separately. The Lodge can be hired for private functions such as weddings, family dinners or reunions. One of its features is a large open fire to keep you warm in the winter months. We cater for all groups whether you are a skiing, hunting, school, contracting or sporting group.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Kurow Holiday Park was a pretty small park, but the kitchen was quite good with very traditional decoration. The shower room was very clean with bright light. The host was very friendly and helpful, good to stay here for one night.

This holiday park is on two levels along the river. Down on the lower level is more pleasant. Hard to see exactly where the sites were but there was lots of space with grass and trees. However the facilities are very old and run down. Only 30 minutes of wifi is offered and you have to pay $5 a day for more. That on top of $38 tariff makes this place dearer than many other better equipped holiday parks.

We just had a few nights here staying in the lodge bunk room. From the moment we got there it was wow the kids adored the aquriam which is now a indoor play area. They loved looking for fish and eels off the wee bridge. It was to cold to do much kayaking ect but hopefully can come back for that. They also have a cute little playground outside too. There is little gardens around the place. Even though this is certainly not modern it's classic kiwiana but clean tidy the showers were bliss. Thanks for welcoming my family I hope to return at a later date

Highly recommend this camping site. It's really well organized and maintained. Very clean. There's access to a river as well. But to me, the highlight was how friendly and helpful the owners were. They went out of their way to take the time to make fantastic recommendations and be helpful. I was impressed.

We booked a room and what we got was a small house, a Tourist Flat. A two bedroom's small house with all amenities, comfy beds, clean and spacious bathroom, dining table, a big fridge, microwave, wall flat TV, small kitchen with stove and kettle and kitchen stuff, as well as a wall clock. A really quiet place to take a break and got decent sleep. At the rear, there is a small lake as part of the big river with plenty of ducks. Canoe was also available. Not only rooms but also a camper site where children can ride bicycles. The host Theo and Diane was really friendly and helpful, and willing to send us by mail our belonging that left in the room. All good, very happy stay.

Group of us stopped in here on the way to Borland Lodge Manapouri. all we needed under one roof . Large inside fire on those cold nights and shared dorms or if quiet your own. Has a pool table and kitchen along with bathrooms all under same roof. A 5 minute walk to the local store or Hotel. Great for families

There were four vans as we always travel together. Good large powered sites and facilities were lovely and clean and lots of extras provided like dishwashing liquid, pegs etc . Was very impressed and would stay again happily.

We stayed for 8 nights in our caravan on a powered sight on the lower river level. Great hosts,Theo and Diane provide large powered sites, cabins, tent sites, a bunk room and common room/kitchen, clean toilets, free hot showers, laundry and the most amazing swimming and picnic area using natural water from a race from the close by mighty Waitaki river. Free kayaks canoes and SUP board compliment this wonderful facility. Located on the Alps to Ocean trail so plenty of places to cycle, fishing in the river, great cafes, a small 4 Square store, Museum, walks plus other activities. In reality though we pretty much just chill out. This is our second visit as an annual holiday. We live an hour away and could go to some other exotic places but this camp ticks all the boxes for us. Only a few dollars a night more than freedom camping (without the facilities) around the Waitaki lakes. Can highly recommend.
