Detailed Reviews
My partner and I came to Valley Views for his birthday and what a perfect spot to have it!
We stayed in the Lone Hill tent and on arrival immediately felt welcomed by the hosts Amber and Patrick. We recommend coming before sunset to take in the gorgeous view. Although the evenings were calm and clear (perfect for stargazing), the night was windy and cold. However, the tents remained warm and cozy through the night with the fire.
Everything is thought of in this accommodation, for example; if you want to stargaze and it's freezing then you can help yourself to the extra blankets in your room, hot water bottles, and even tea/coffee provided in the communal space.
The tents are solar powered which was awesome, although on our second day there was insufficient sun for the fairy lights to work, we had multiple other lighting options for the tent including lantern and candles, which worked perfectly well.
In terms of food, breakfast on both mornings was fantastically set up with multiple cold and hot options, including fresh eggs! The kitchen itself is fully equipped to cook your own meals if you wish, but we opted into the 3-course dinner which was worth every penny.
On the site, there are outdoor baths that overlook the valley. We used these baths at night time which was amazing looking at the stars from the warmth of the tub. Both baths were clean and were lighted by fairy lights.
The set-up itself is situated just out of Kurow, with easy access to Mackenzie country. On one of the days we stayed, we did a trip to Tekapo and Twizel, which Patrick helped us plan. Mt Cook is also in reach for a day trip, although we did not choose to do this.
Overall we both highly recommend staying in Valley Views glamping for the overall incredible experience provided by the view, hosts, and the set-up.

A fabulous night away... it was an amazing escape even if just for one night. We enjoyed the brilliant facilities, everything you need, the dome was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. The views are stunning and we enjoyed the bath tubs at dusk. A great selection of breakfast goodies. Patrick was a wonderful host, making us feel very welcome, a selection of fruit, teas and coffee to help ourselves too in the very well set out kitchen. Amber was great to deal with via emails, unfortunately she was unwell so we didn't meet her. Definitely want to go back.

A group 16 of us had the pleasure of two nights in this wonderful place. Amber and Patrick are wonderfull hosts - the domes are sensational, very comfortable and styled to perfection. The breakfast and meals were of a high quality and absolutely delicous - we did not even wash a dish all weekend. Everything is perfect and extremely clean and well cared for. Thank you so very much for a memorable stay.

We stayed here last month to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary, and absolutely loved it.
Amber and Patrick are such amazing hosts, very friendly and kind. The outdoor baths were out of this world, and the system that has been set up to ensure privacy is pretty clever.
Breakfast was delish and the domes were just gorgeous - so many extra little touches and the views are insane. 100% recommend checking out the sunrise from your dome, just beautiful.
Thank you so much Amber and Patrick, I'm sure we'll be back to see you again!!

We did a little trip up the Waitaki Valley for my 30th and stayed here 1 night along the way. I kinda wish we had stayed 2 nights, but I left booking a bit late however short and sweet was still amazing. The hosts were so warm and welcoming and it was great to chat about the domes, which we were very taken by. The views were lovely and we loved the little dome. It felt rustic yet luxurious and comfy. I would agree it is definitely more glamping than a hotel though and if you aren't into walking a small way from your dome to go to the toilet or shared kitchen area, or if you will miss things like TV, wifi etc. Loved the whole vibe here with the off grid, peaceful and disconnected feel of things, it reminded me of staying on a farm. We played scrabble by firelight and candlelight in our dome! Shared kitchen/dining facilities looked great and cooking would be a breeze, we ate in nearby Kurow though. Shared toilets and showers were lovely and I enjoy that Patrick and Amber have chosen eco friendly solutions for toilet paper/tissues etc. Bed was comfy and warm and so was the little fire in our dome although a bit chilly once the fire went out and you woke up in the morning, so had to get it going again the next day. Adored making brekky in the morn on the gas stove with the old school jug and "toaster" and the continental breakfast was laid out all very nicely with the little pot belly cranking (was a rather chilly morn!). I really enjoyed the outdoor baths too, although it took a while to fill (understandably!) and I was glad I went sans husband haha. Overall just a really awesome time and very cool!

We really enjoyed our glamping escape to Valley Views Glamping last weekend. We spent a couple of hours riding a section of the Alps to Ocean trail prior to our arrival. Patrick was there to welcome us and show us around the facility and to our geodome. The paired baths are a real highlight - tucked away amongst the forest, they are very private and a lovely way to share a glass of wine while admiring the unbeatable view.
Our tent was warmed well by the sun and by the fire, although the fire is small and needs restocking often to keep the tent warm overnight. Although it was cold overnight, it was toasty under the goose-down duvet and there were lots of extra woollen blankets available and 2 hot water bottles per person. The lodge had excellent cooking facilities and we were encouraged to make ourselves at home.
We were awoken naturally by the light coming through the tent window. It was a treat to lie in bed and watch the sunrise. The sun warmed the tent quickly too! After this, we headed up to the lodge to have fresh farm eggs, muesli and yoghurt!
The whole place has been done with a lot of attention to detail and craftsmanship. Patrick and Amber were great hosts - really friendly, passionate and welcoming! Loved supporting a local NZ business and we would definitely love to stay here again and can't recommend it more highly!

We stayed 1 night, domes were what we expected, nice and big, beautiful view down the valley, and private from the other domes. the large king size bed was very comfortable.
We visited in October and couldn't use the fireplace, but will admit we were cold (there is hot water bottles in the kitchen, which I did use) but as you are only in a tent the temperature dropped and the next morning was freezing. If we had been able to use the fireplace, I'm sure the dome would have been lovely and cosy. The comment from the owner of cold being mind over matter was a little off.
The amenities block was only a short walk away, with flush toilets and hot showers, with great water pressure. But the showers were on the small size with not a lot of space to place your clothes etc.
The kitchen dining area was a good size, but lack of a fridge wasn't what we had expected. I know it is an off grid experience but a gas fridge is needed.
Breakfast was nice, plenty of fresh eggs, cereal and toast. Was lacking a bowl of fruit.
Watching the owner pour the left over milk and orange juice from the jugs back into the bottles wasn't a good look. How old is that milk? considering there is no fridge.
the grass had obviously been weed whacked the day we arrive, unfortunately as it wasn't swept off the paths or deck, we had it stuck to our shoes and walked it through the dome and amenities block.
Don't get me wrong we enjoyed the experience, just feel that for the cost a few things need to be better.

Thank you for your detailed review of your stay. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the dome, the beautiful view, and the comfortable super-king sized bed. However, it's clear that there were some areas that could use improvement. I'll address your points one by one: Fireplace: We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the unavailability of the fireplace during your stay. Our wood supply is a labor-intensive process, and we regret that we fell short on that particular night. Patrick's comment was not appropriate, and rest assured, he has been addressed about it. We have since replenished our wood stock and are actively monitoring temperatures to ensure a more consistent supply for our guests as it has been a colder than normal spring and therefore up until yesterday we were still using the fires in the domes. Showers: Glad you enjoyed the pressure of the showers, the size of the showers are a standard size and we provide 3 hooks and a shelf to put clothes and other necessities on. Fridge: We are very aware of the situation with the lack of fridge. We did have a solar fridge, but it wasn't up to standard so we removed it. We provide a cooler box with ice packs to keep milk and wine/beer cold, if people need to keep food cold we have spare chilly bins and ice packs for them. We are continually improving our facilities as we are able, and our next project is to upgrade our solar system so that we can then run a full sized fridge and freezer - coming in 2024! Milk: We do our grocery shopping weekly, and the milk is immediately stored in our home freezer. Each night, a single bottle is taken out to defrost overnight, ensuring that only the needed amount is used the next day. Any leftover milk is used at our home, and if there's an excess that we can't consume, we employ a sustainable approach by fermenting it for our chickens, who thoroughly enjoy it. Our larger solar electricity system at home supports two fridges and two freezers, ensuring that everything remains well-preserved. Rest assured, the milk we provide during your stay is consistently fresh. In the past, we included a fruit bowl, but after noticing that a majority of guests didn't consume it, we made the decision to discontinue this offering to minimize wastage. Grass: Patrick did the weed whacking on the day you got here. Unfortunately, he couldn't rake it up as usual because of time constraints, especially when guests show up early. We know it wasn't ideal, and we're sorry for any inconvenience. We're doing our best to manage these situations and appreciate your understanding. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused during your stay. We take pride in offering a unique off-grid experience in a special location, with a strong focus on sustainability. We appreciate your insights and understanding of the challenges that come with our off-grid setup. Your feedback is important to us, and we are continuously working to improve our offerings.

Right from the moment you pull up, Valley Views Glamping is so inviting. We were welcomed by Patrick who gave us a tour of the facilities and pointed us in the direction of our tent. The facilities (kitchen, bathroom) are impeccable and feel luxurious, yet rustic; we didn't want for anything while we were there. We were there in the middle of winter and were lucky enough to have a night of snowfall, which was stunning. With lots of handy tips about how to stay warm in the tent (which we were!), we had a cosy night - keeping the fire stoked is a must, as are the complimentary hot water bottles! We also ordered a platter that didn't disappoint; enough for dinner for two, followed by a cup of tea in the kitchen/lodge area. Valley Views Glamping provides a unique, off-the-grid experience that we would absolutely recommend. The hosts are fantastic and have alot of local knowledge and can point you in the direction of a day trip/other activities in the area.

They are genuinely lovely people.
The glamping domes were pristine.
The facilities were top notch
They even brought a lamb for the children to see and posted a shoe we left behind back to us.
This place is generally fully booked, and for good reason
