Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Clean and tidy, reasonable priced and a very friendly, obliging host. We had an upstairs unit which was extremely hot! Decor is pretty dated but sort of quaint! The unit had everything we needed, and we were able to do our laundry very cheaply. Good parking available, and close to local shops.

This is a class-style Kiwi motel. My room was immaculate and very quiet. The location is walking distance (or a very short drive) to anywhere in Geraldine you might wish to be. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommended.

Prefect for an overnight stop in Geraldine. Large spacious two rooms, 3 beds (2 singles and a queen) bed was very confortable, slightly dated building but bright and airy with lots of opening windows. Fully equiped kitchen with everything you need. Undercover parking at the door. Shower rose was a little on the low side for average height and the bathroom ceiling was messy. Sky channels on the tv which was in an awkward palce to watch from the queen bed but we managed. Very close to the centre of town and eateries. Great value for $120 NZD per night!

Nice place to stay, not flash but extremely adequate. Very clean and tidy and price reflects this. All the usual things that motels do were done and the complex was within a very easy walk to the centre of the village.

Great room, great location, BUT NO HOT WATER in the morning for a shower.
So I had the quickest coldest shower of my life.
The other 2 people staying couldn't face it.
Manager refused even a partial refund and told me I should have just waited around until they fixed it
That wasn't an option as we needed to get going.
Hot water shouldn't be a luxury - especially when paying $164 a night!
Really disappointing that an otherwise good stay was ruined by the attitude of the manager.

Always a pleasure stopping here. Friendly service, clean rooms and always a hit with my girls, even the broody teenager. Close to town, well maintained grounds, with bright 2 story family units. Good space in the shower for a giant like myself, and the gas hot water helps ease those ache bones after a long drive.

This is a great spot, backing onto and with easy access to the Garden River Walk. The room we had was a studio unit, spacious, very clean, warm, very comfortable bed, quiet and a terrific shower! Joseph and the team are friendly and were happy for us to have a small dog with us. Easy walk down the main street into town and all the wonderful shops. The best wifi so I was able to also do a little bit of work on my laptop. This is the perfect, cozy place to stay, we will definitely be back. Thank you all.

We had a great 2 night stay - two teenagers, two adults and our dog in the two-bedroom unit. Friendly and very clean with a lovely large outside area that backs onto the creek. Very warm. Easy walk into the town and cafes.

This is an older style motel and the rooms are large and clean and tidy .
A big bonus is that it is an easy walk to the village, and facilities.
One of those places where you feel at home. Certainly not overly flash but would come bach again.

Older motel - spacious rooms - wee bit tired.
Comfortable beds, good bathroom facilities.
Walking distance to town and the riverside walkway/rhododendrum garden.
Reasonable price for a family especially in the family unit
