Detailed Reviews
Saw the picture of the accomodation. What a cute looking house full of character. We had a room with garden view, nice firm matras. Vintage bathtub on a lean, all part of it. We did not have wifi but the manor is full of books. Coffee on the veranda the next morning, a great stay. Thanks lord+lady of the Pipi Longstocking manor.

I stayed here recently with my husband. The accommodation is as described. The bed is comfy and I enjoyed the bath. Our bathroom was shared which I did not expect. The couple who own forest manor are friendly and pleasant.

I had the smallest cheapest room, just for an overnight stop on a motorcycle trip. This is not the place for that. The driveway is fairly steep and has had potholes filled with round river pebbles - nearly fell of the bike first thing. The older couple who own the house seemed totally non-plussed at my turning up on a bike, but found a place I could park it eventually. The house is lovely (if a bit run-down), as are the gardens (not run-down), but there is no soundproofing (you wouldn't expect it really) and someone playing the grand piano in the living room kept me awake when I needed an early night. The bed was comfortable, but VERY squeaky and wobbly. I woke myself up every time I rolled over.
I would recommend this place to older people who like gardens and want to socialise with the hosts. It's not for me; my own fault though, I just chose the wrong place.

We were booked in for a stay over the very busy art and plants weekend. Less than a month out our booking was cancelled due to them having another booking that they had forgotten about. When we phoned them I found the woman I spoke unprofessional and basically gave me the brush off - "Oh well nothing I can do - you"ll have to find something else" Not easy as it seems. I had been in contact with them about requesting breakfast for our room and nothing was said to us that there was a problem. Sorry but i would never ever make a booking with this place.

First time for B n B and was a great experience. Home is so unique and gorgeous. Hosts Harry and Anne very comfortable to be with and made me feel most welcome in their home.
Lovely spacious and clean room.. breakfast served in front of fire by mine host with home made bread toasted .. yum.
Lovely piano in sitting room so Anne and I had a bit of a sing a long!!
Walking distance to township where I had a kids size roast.. very tasty and toasty with open fire. All in all great first intro to South Island.
