Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We found this great motel/apartment on the web when looking for somewhere to accommodate 5 people at short notice. They have a self contained unit with a queen size bed and single bed in one room and two single beds in the other. The lounge/dining/kitchen area is light and spacious with oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and all kitchen utensils provided. There were even biscuits provided to have with our coffee. Large screen TV and Sky TV provided in lounge area. There is a separate shower room and a bathroom with bath and toilet. A washing machine, dryer, iron etc are all provided as well. The unit is quiet and back from the street with a private deck and garden just great for relaxing in the sun. A smaller unit is attached at the front but does not have direct access to the garden.

The unit itself is very clean and tidy and the beds comfortable. The owner Lisa, lives at a house next door and is extremely helpful and friendly offering advice on where to eat, visit etc without being overbearing. We only stayed one night but it would be perfect for a family looking for a weeks plus stay as everything is provided. Probably not suitable for very small children as there is an open waterway at the bottom of the garden that a child could access. Parking is available off street but not directly outside the entrance to the unit.

Only negative is the very uncomfortable couch that only seated 3 meaning 2 had to sit at the dining table or on hard cane chairs. I would definitely return and stay longer next time.

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment for two nights. It is the best place we've stayed in New Zealand.

Positives

1. Two large bedrooms, one with a queen and single, the other with two single beds

2. Very clean

3. It has all modern conveniences, such as washer and dryer, cable television, full size refrigerator and freezer, full kitchen facilities

4. A short walk to the centre of town

5. Friendly and unobtrusive owners

6. Very reasonably price

7. Off-street parking

8. Gated yard for kids to play in without risk

Negatives

1. Relatively thin wall to adjoining unit, but this wasn't an issue on either evening

2. My wife wants to sell the house and stay here...

We definitely hope to stay here again. I would recommend this motel without any hesitation

We found this place through tripadvisor and decided it looked like a good little place to stop over for the night on our way to Queenstown.

When we arrived we were welcomed by the owner and taken into a comfy one bedroom apartment at the front of their own house (They do also have two other self contained larger apartments). There was a very clean compact kitchen with a full cooker (hob and oven which is very rare in motels), washing machine, fridge, iron and ironing board, and microwave. Fridge already had a small carton of milk in for that very necessary cup of tea after 35 hours travelling. The bathroom was also very clean. Shower was very powerful which was a godsend. Although the apartment was cold when we arrived, the use of two little electric heaters quickly warmed the place up.

Was only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Geraldine and a really nice pub (can't remember it's name - sorry). Price per night was amazing (95NZD) and would definitely recommend to anyone travelling down to Queenstown.
