This place is super cute! A hidden wee peaceful gem in my opinion. Our stay was a last minute booking, the owners were very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are clean and well thought out. We would definitely stay again and recommend for sure.

We stayed at the Cheviot Motel for one night. Our room was a one bedroom that had its own shower and toilet. The room was nice and clean and had a bar fridge, microwave, stove top, toaster and kettle. These rooms had a covered veranda with chairs, table and sofa. Was a nice view overlooking the well kept gardens. If there is one criticism, it would be that the bed was not the most comfortable I have slept in. Overall, it was worth the one night stopover.

A very pleasant Caravan Park in a quiet country setting. The showers were hot and powerful and a bathmat was supplied. The camp kitchen was spacious and well equipped and the grounds green, quiet with plenty of shade . We were very impressed.

What a lovely surprise to find this reasonably priced motel was so good to stay in. The grounds are very pretty with trees, shrubs and roses all around. There are motel units, cabins and a small camping ground. The person who checked us in was lovely. The motel room was clean and even though we stayed New Years night ( 2022/2023) we had a good sleep. Will certainly recommend this place to all friends from overseas who want a good experience of NZ.

Fantastic little country campground. We have used this place on a number of occasions over the years, last two times this year with our caravan. It is a great place to stop in between Picton and Christchurch. It is quiet, surrounded by paddocks with sheep. Small and old but clean facilities, nicely maintained with character. Would have liked to have stayed longer but as usual on a mission to get to Chch Highly recommend

We were on our way back from kaikoura and our campervan broke down…in the mountains ( which we rented in Auckland) Wendekreisen Campervan Rentals was great and had us on the road again in a rental car. It was 8pm… and we needed a place to stay, quick! Campmate app showed a place in Cheviot, that could meet our requirements… as we were a group of 4, two still in a campervan and 2 that needed a room. We loved it so much we stayed two nights! Our hosts were welcoming and helpful! Gardens are beautiful, facilities ( washrooms, showers, communal kitchen and laundry)were spotless… and lots of animals to visit and see on the property… sheep, exceptionally friendly goats, chickens, turkeys, and Guinea fowl! We even had a hedgehog wander by our room! Office has a few sweets etc for purchase as well as fresh eggs!! Close to Gore Beach… and other things to do, including Cathedral Cliffs. It was a wonderful place for all of us to recharge after 3 weeks of traveling around New Zealand Thank you Cheviot Motels, Cabins and Camp!!

We'd planned on staying at Gore Bay, both the campsites there were very small and really full so we headed back to Cheviot. We saw this campsite on Google Maps and thought we'd check it out - what a find! The gardens were really pretty and beautifully kept, there was a swimming pool (an extra bonus as it was such a hot day), the plots were really spacious and the owners were really friendly and welcoming. The facilities were fairly basic but clean and tidy, the site had that feel campsites had when we were kids, a really nice atmosphere. We'd definitely recommend this site to others, it was probably the nicest campsite that we'd booked into this holiday 😀

We stopped in without a booking and found a beautiful spot for the night. I wish we could have stayed longer! The spots are large and so clean, the showers are free and amazing! It felt like we were in a country farm with rolling hills, sheep and even a visit from some crazy turkeys in the morning. There’s a pool, lots of willow trees and free wifi too. It has a very tranquil and peaceful atmosphere, we will be back soon!
