We stayed here for a few days at the end of August. By then there were plenty of pitches to choose from. The reception staff were charming and friendly. The 'sanitaires' had all we needed with good hot showers. There are chest high hedges surrounding each pitch, giving adequate privacy. Bars and restaurants are in easy walking distance and we also found a good cycle way into St Palais town. The cycleway also took us easily to the Les Combots beach northwards. We had stayed at the adjacent site previously, but prefer this one. Dog owners may care to note that there is a large dog excercise area at the rear of the site.
having a "gardener" shouting at you across the site because your small dog is peeing on the bushes around an empty pitch, (in fact we were the only pitch in use around us at that time), and making the place "stink", was enough for me to want to leave instantly, my mrs talked me out of it. But how RUDE. my small dog did not make the place stink! This was our sixth visit to this site, you would have though some respect would have developed during that time! It was also our last.
After a good holiday in 2016 we returned for 26 days this year the weather was not as nice as last year but didn't detract from a relaxing break The site is still very clean and tidy the facilities are still always clean day and night. The site has no pool or bar or any form of entertainment so quite is basically assured and children are minimal
We took our tent at the last minute to take advantage of the late August sunshine. As it was the end of the season there was a plethora of pitches to chose from. We drove slowly around the site and picked the one that best suited us. Owners were very friendly. The sanitary blocks were meticulously clean. There is a barbecue area right opposite the petanque court and an overall feeling of relaxation. Just a short walk outside is a range of restaurants and bars, although mainly restaurants, which were full on the Saturday night but very quiet the following night. Beach is a fair walk away but well worth it to walk right along the sands. We shall be coming back next year.
We arrived at Saint Palais Sur Mer one lunch time in July, not knowing where we were going to stay in our Motor Home. We came across this site by accident really and we were very pleasantly surprised! The staff were extremely welcoming, very helpful and very pleasant. We were given the choice of 3 - 4 pitches and asked if we would like to go and have a look at them to see if they fulfilled our requirements. We were very pleased indeed. The pitches were a good size, each separated by a hedge, all very well kept. The toilet block was very clean, the disabled shower room was also a very good standard and again we were very happy indeed. Originally we were going to stay just 1 or 2 nights, but it was so good we stayed 5 nights and were sorry to leave when we did. It was right on the coast, with restaurants & cycle paths right on your door step. We will most certainly go back to this beautiful site.…
