Plentiful and freshly cooked breakfast, charming hosts, a beautiful elegant villa. Huge, spotlessly clean pool. Beautiful cotton bedlinen and daily maid service who cleaned and tidied bedroom, bathroom and balcony. All bedrooms have large balconies with splendid views over the coast and a coastal gentle breeze. A tranquil spot, the family home of our welcoming hosts, can’t fault it!

I recently spent a long weekend in this delightful country house near Licata (Montalbano's Vigata). Carmela Sorriso is a delightful hostess, who provides home-baked croissants for breakfast and copious hospitality. The house is large and gracious and the rooms spotless. The view of the coast is a panorama, but it's also charming to sit and read in the garden. Nice people, nice place.

Unfortunately 1 overnight stay, but boy would we have appreciated at least a few more ! The place is very beautifully situated in a beautiful villa surrounded with even more beautiful big garden and a well equiped large swimmingpool. The hospitality of the owner mrs. Sorriso and her son Alex was great. Staying at this villa is highly recommended. If in doubt, DO it !

I was lucky enough to stay in the much-desired Villa Sorriso this summer, and I cannot say enough good things about it. I've traveled Europe extensively (Italy alone 14 different times!) and this is one of the best B&Bs I've stayed in. The views are unmatched, the pool is awesome, the grounds/rooms are beautifully kept/decorated, and the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I have never eaten better in my life. The service is also incredible.. Carmela, Alex, and family were absolute pleasures to work with, and I immediately felt comfortable and at home. This place is perfect!
As a side note, Licata itself is amazing. I can only speak for how it is in the summer, but as an American I've never experienced anything like it. The beaches, people, nightlife, and restaurants are unmatched. It's close to so many incredible attractions - for instance, the Scala dei Turchi and temples in Agrigento were a short drive away. It was truly one of the best times I've ever had, both abroad and in general.

We had the pleasure of staying 5 days in Villa Sorriso the first week of June and were very happy there. To begin with, I had made a mistake on my booking and we showed up a day early! No problem; the kind hostess took us right in. Secondly, we were hopelessly lost because our GPS would not accept the address we kept trying to enter; so when we called the Villa, they actually told us to stay where we were and they would send someone after us! Now THAT is service! This beautiful, old-world Villa is run by the gracious Carmella and her son Alex. Although she speaks almost no English and he speaks only a little, they do their level best to accommodate your every need. We used a translation app on my phone to communicate questions, and had no problem. Every morning, Carmella fed us a delicious breakfast of freshly-baked croissants, fresh fruit, other pastries, cappuccino, eggs, toast, etc, served with a warm smile. She would serve it whenever it served our needs; all we had to do was ask. If we had an early outing one day, no problem. If we wanted to sleep in one day, no problem. The grounds of the villa are simply beautiful, with stunning views of the ocean, lovely palms, and beautiful flowers. The pool was not yet open when we were there, but it looks as though it is nice too. Our favorite thing about the villa is all the old furnishings. Everywhere you look, Carmella has things she's collected through the years, family photos, and beautiful pieces of Italian ceramic pottery. The rooms are large and our balcony was spacious. We had two bathrooms for myself, my husband, and our son. The only reason we do not give the villa a perfect rating is because of the bathrooms. The shower in ours was just a dribble, and the hot water ran out very quickly. The decor in the bathroom simply did not fit with the old-world beauty of the rest of the villa; it was very 80's and cheap. And the toilet didn't flush very dependably. There was a plumber out once working at the villa, so maybe they were addressing some of these issues. Overall, none of these things were enough to keep us from wanting to stay here again. It is just a lovely place with lovely people.

In this busy hectic world was so so surprised to find the paradise, taking me back in time to my childhood so quite and so peaceful! I just did not want to leave this place! Comes complete with a fairy godmother, Donna Carmela! One of the sweetest persons we came across, hostess of Vill Sorrisi, and left with smile we all did !

When I arrived, the place is as it's titled, a Villa to make you smile! Mrs Sorriso, the proprietor was friendly, inviting and accommodating. I stayed there for two nights and this b&b makes it easy as a launching point for visits to the Villa Romans Casale mosaics in Piazza Armerina, the Valley of the Temples, or the Turkish Steps. The rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are well maintained and very clean. The breakfast was amazing and plentiful and the breakfast views of the Mediterranean were amazing. If you are not familiar with the area, Mrs Sorriso made every effort to familiarize you with the area such as restaurant recommendations

Carmela and other family members were very helpful and happy to speak to us in English to help with directions for restaurants and places to see. Villa and gardens very peaceful and agreeable. Place is secure with ample parking. Good signage to Villa Sorriso. Swimming pool was superb. Carmela tempted us each day with new Sicilian specialities which we liked very much, although we would have loved fresh/plain bread (instead of biscotti) to try the delicious regional jams and honey. Where they could improve: we felt that the room was somewhat over furnished and in general need of a 'freshening-up' (towels and linen are past their best, wooden shutters need redecorating), but otherwise the villa is great.
