Detailed Reviews
An unforgettable holiday. Fattoria Vassallo offers the perfect combination of excellent home-made food, warm hospitality and breathtaking views. Rooms were very clean and equipped with all amenities. We immersed ourselves completely in the experience by interacting with the animals as well as participate in bread-making. Fattoria Vassallo offers the perfect ingredients for a fantastic holiday.

Fattoria Vassallo offered by far more than we expected (and paid for!)
The warm Sicilian hospitality mixed with gorgeous home-made food (including their own cheeses...) and the most relaxing and romantic location.
Fattoria Vassallo is surrounded by endless fields of fruits and vegetables. It is the perfect location for recharging your batteries. The room was very spacious, clean and the furniture traditional and rustic. With our own bathroom and TV, we did not feel in a farm at all. The animals are kept on a separate building across the road. So there is no noise and no unpleasant smell. We chose the half-board option and this is highly recommended. Every meal includes 3-4 dishes, all home-made which include products from their land. Everything was so deliciously prepared.
The family running the farm also showed a lot of flexibility to ensure all guest needs would be met. This was a really fantastic holiday.

Apart from its ideal location for those wishing to discover the area around Agrigento, Fattoria Vassallo offers a different lodging experience away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The animals on the farm give the whole stay a particular appeal. A tour of the stables around sunset is simply magical and something Laura our host was willing to concede with pride.
We were lucky to have the farm for ourselves for the two nights we stayed which allowed Laura to give us her full attention. The warm hospitality surely made us feel treated like royals. Breakfast was all about fresh bio products from the farm; the goat cheese and the freshly baked lemon cake were simply gorgeous!! On the eve we stayed in for dinner we were served a wide selection of antipasti, home-made pasta and grilled sausages washed down with a nice Avola/Merlot red.
The rooms are spacious and clean and the surrounding landscape is simply breathtaking. Being a bit off the beaten track, a GPS would come in handy. We will definitely return to Fattoria Vassallo very soon.

This beautiful former farm house, now a bed & breakfast, sits on a property dedicated to Agriturismo at its best: delightful hosts, perfect setting, beautiful surroundings, working farm with animals. Breakfasts are a culinary treat, prepared with organic products of the farm. The rooms are immaculately clean and welcoming. Cordial, charming, helpful, the hosts are ready to engage in conversation about their passion: sharing their knowledge of genuine, sustainable agriculture, serving real food, allowing guests to explore the property. For travelers from the United States, Fattoria Vassallo is a find: it's not on the beaten path, but it's all the more wonderful for being deep in the most luscious, beautifully cultivated countryside. A real treasure.

For those who want something a little different, at great value, Fattoria Vassalo is the place to go. Certified organic, this is one of a few farms to have the rare local Girgentana goats. Salvatore is extremely proud of his animals – goats, pigs, donkeys, geese etc. as he takes us on a tour of his farm. Beyond the animals there are vines with (in September) ripening grapes, fruit and nut trees, fields of pumpkins and tomatoes – essentially a self-sustaining property.
Our room was large and comfortable. Internet reception was not good in the room itself but fine in the restaurant and courtyard.
Our stay included meals, an experience we very much enjoyed, with the quality being excellent. The food was sourced primarily from the farm – and superb for a ridiculously low cost, especially considering inclusion of very nice wine, again made by Salvatore from his own grapes. The antipasto was a meal in itself, with fresh cheese – the chevre was special, brushetta with of course farm-fresh tomatoes, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, home baked bread, a pepper stew and a zucchini frittata. If this was our entire meal we would have been very content and full but of course there was also pasta, a meat course (and for my vegetarian wife a special vegetable dish or salad) and dessert. Thank goodness dessert was a simple plate of organic grapes. Anything more would have put us over the top.
The farm is approx. a 20 minute drive from the coast through a picturesque valley of vineyards and other agriculture with easy access to Agrigento and Licata.
As mentioned, Salvatore loves what he does – raising animals and farming. He is a very friendly, down to earth host who made our two-night stay most enjoyable.

Animal Kingdom! Kids would enjoy seeing such a variety - turkeys, rosters, sheep, goats, peacocks, horses, donkeys, pigs, you name it. Food and room was fine, nothing extraordinary. Convenient location to visit Naro.

I've been to Fattoria Vassallo twice and Salvatore and his sister Laura are kind, friendly people.
The food was wonderful and the location was beautiful. The group I went with had a wonderful time learning how to make bread and cheese and we also learned how to milk goats. The only criticism for me was the temperature of our rooms. They were too cold when we got there and it took a while for them to warm up. However, I believe this is easily rectified. The next time I'm in Sicily I will certainly stay there again!

We had visited before without dining and had a mini-tour of the farm. We looked forward to returning for lunch. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. The antipasti was nice, but was followed by tasteless pasta, and an unexceptional plate of grilled meats and no side dishes. Our meal was ended with the offerings of café, grappa, Limoncello, etc....served in PLASTIC CUPS!

A very pretty farm where you can find what hospitality means. Please be sure to taste Laura's food, made with products of the farm! We spent two nights there in August. The place is great for a family with kids.
Close from Agrigente where you can visit the Valley of the Temples, la Scala dei Turchi (a must-see) or Ericlea Minoa.
