I found this quaint bnb on internet and was so pleasantly surprised! In the historical center and near the beach. Licata is a great place to stop for a night or two, esp if cycling around the island. They have a locked room for your bike. Extremely clean and comfortable with an amazing and huge breakfast. The cappucino was like a coffee with a big cloud! The best part was the owners; so very helpful and gave me great suggestions! Stay there!

A traditional home of Licata. Rooms individually and beautifully decorated. Near the water, where there was free parking, and situated on a small square, where breakfast was served. Yes, there is a spiral staircase, but there are other rooms and options. I stayed in a spacious room off the square. The hosts were lovely and couldn't do enough to assist, including ensuring that a local restaurant would cater to my culinary tastes. Breakfast was yum - bad for the waste line, but hey, i am on holidays. Will return.

Me and a colleague of mine have been in Gela for business, and decided to stay over night in Licata in this little, nice, hosty, friendly place.
Very nice atmosphere, room clean and big enough, great service from Lahiru... molto simpatico!! Thanks, if we will be in the area again, we will come back.

Unusual, but adequate. Lovely, charming, helpful host Lahiru without him the place would be very boring. Licata is not on the tourist map as it is an industrial port town, but once in the town the architecture is wonderful and makes staying at Antica all the more charming. We were shown two rooms to choose from, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor, we chose the latter as it had a balcony. The bed and linen were clean with an exceptionally large wardrobe - no safe in the room. Bathroom very well laid out albeit a small shower, it was adequate, very nice shampoo and soap. Breakfast is very cute. All laid out al fresco in the square, usual Italian breakfast. Once again Lahiru was the star of the show and was in charge of the jobs. Would stay again if in the area.

Tucked away in a small square once the fishermen's quarter of Licata - off the main lungomare - we spent two nights here with another couple. The owner was very generous with recommendations, esp restaurants, in the area. Her assistant was the real plus as he was onsite with advice and a delicious breakfast every sunny morning in the piazzetta. Our rooms were a bit jury-rigged (adding to the medieval feel...) in that one bathroom was up a sort of ladder and the room was accessible by a rather tight spiral staircase - a warning for those who may have mobility challenges. The other room had a kitchen but absolutely NO dishes, cutlery, etc. The espresso machine was available but no coffee. Water is NOT potable, but was not provided on arrival. No complimentary toiletries for those who might have run out and arrived after store hours....Advice: ask about the character of the room if you are booking over the phone or via email because the rooms are spread throughout several small palazzi on the square. DO ask about restaurants in the area. Amazingly there is a Michelin 2star restaurant in town - La Madia of Pino Cuttaia - with a very interesting history to accompany the food! WiFi was free but only reached throughout the living-room area, not to bedrooms.

We spent just one night in this hotel but loved the atmosphere of the area. It is a little hard to find in the car because of narrow one way streets but worth the hunt. Car parking is free in a public car park just across the road. We were booked into one of the rooms accessed by a narrow spiral staircase but the staff member, Lahiru, took pity on us with our cases (travelling for many months so not small) and put us in a suite with one flight of wide stairs which we really apppreciated. Lahiru suggested a couple of restaurants and tried to call them for us. When he couldnt get through on the phone he walked us down to them.

Unfortunately the first one he suggested was full so he kindly walked us to another which only had inside dinning. Wanting to sit outside, he walked us to yet another and didn't leave until he made sure we had a table.

Breakfast was served in the atmospheric courtyard and was a pleasant meal.

We really enjoyed our stay and loved the service Lahiru give us. He was the star of the show!!

We were somewhat lost and another B&B was full. Antica Dimora San Girolamo sent a staff member on a bicycle to lead us to their B&B, which was the most charming we stayed in on Sicily. The room was not made up, so the owner served us espresso in her cafe while we waited. Breakfast was served in the piazza and was very good. Decor was wonderful -- quirky but very tasteful. French toiletries. Wish we could have stayed longer. The night in Licata, which was just a layover, turned out to be one of the most memorable in our two-week stay in Sicily.

This B&B hotel is romantically sited on facing sides of a tiny piazza, on the edge of the old town. My room was reached via tight spiral stair to a quite spacious room with a high, wooden-beamed ceiling and quality fittings, with toiletries provided. Breakfast was served at tables in the piazza and included good coffee and delicious Sicilian pastries. Also very friendly with English-speaking staff, this little hotel offer outstanding value and a memorable experience. To find the hotel, approach Licata from the most easterly junction from the coast road (nr rail crossing) then turn left on to a new bridge, which will take you to a harbour-front car park 50 m from the hotel).

I am honestly amazed at the fabulous reviews this B&B has received. The bathroom was up a rickety staircase, the mattresses seemed ancient, to get up to the room was awful - climbing a tight circular stairway, the water was undrinkable, it was impossible to find (fortunately someone on the street was able to help us)... The breakfast was good and it was quiet at night.

The Antica Locanda is one of the most charming places I have ever been and really unexpected in licata. The Locanda is an enchanting place furnished with charming pieces belonging to the sicilian traditions. It sums up the need of a contemporary traveller: it is a clean place at reasonable price with a special flair. The breakfast is served in the open-air of a small historical square; the food changes everyday with topical Sicilian food: granite, croissant with ice cream, home made biscuits etc. Lavinia, the owner, is a lady full of energy and so generous of her time and knowledge of the region. She is eager to suggest any hidden gem. Lahitu is a nice and smiling guy ready to provide you with solutions. English is defenetely not a problem in this small place. A pleasant and unexpected way to experience licata and the wonderful beaches.
