Detailed Reviews
Wonderful campsite with powered and non powered sites. By the river, a short walk into town and a couple of nice walks nearby.
The owners are lovely and run the place like a dream. Extremely clean kitchens and bathrooms, free herbs and a well stocked kitchen including free eggs when available.
Campground is open, with shade trees around the edges, large sites. The people here are very friendly, mix of families and older adults, nice and quiet at night. It’s also really good value.
Eketahuna has some interesting retro shops, and Pukaha wildlife centre, Paihiatua and the Tui brewery are all close by for sightseeing. We will definitely be back!

We stopped overnight in our motorhome enroute out to the east coast and we were very impressed. Camp ground is tucked away in park like setting, plenty of space and trees, very peaceful. Cooking, laundry and shower/toilet facilities are newish and are well maintained. Hosts are very friendly and helpful, definitely would stay again.

Great campground! Good facilities with full equiped kitchen, hot showers and clean toilets. Only coat us $20 (for 2) for a powered site! Very friendly owners. You can come to campground and setup anywhere you like, the owners will come during the afternoon to collect money. We enjoyed our stay here on the way to Wellington. Will be back for sure!

Perfect facilities for us, good showers, clean, tidy and well stocked kitchen and very well priced. Friendly owners. We even had a campfire 😍 Well maintained tracks all through the beautiful bush. Nice little camp spot! Shame about the weather but they can’t control that 😂

Nice little camp site tucked away and hidden. Has all the amenities you would need with brilliant showering facilities and kitchen facilities. Staff very friendly and it is a good price also. Would have stayed longer if we could have, stayed here five years ago and it is still as good

An absolute gem at a bargain price - $15pn for a powered site. 16 powered sites, 2 cabins ($25pn for 2), kitchen, ablution block and laundry. Fresh eggs on offer in the kitchen.
Beautiful surrounding of trees and river. 10 minute scenic walk in to Eketahuna.
Site is not manned but Loreen and Kerry Cunningham just say "Ring or Text at any time. When you arrive, choose a site and settle in. For a cabin, ring above, or fill out our contact form. We come to the camp several times a day."
If you are in the area make sure you use this camp site.

This is a great spot to camp, park your camper or stay in the cabins. We stayed in the cabins; they also have a great deck to sit on and enjoy your meals. My kids really enjoyed being right on the river (if it is warm enough, you can even swim in the river). It is a very clean campground too, which is great. The bathrooms are amazing; they are just as nice as some of the bathrooms at a few of the 5* hotels I stayed at (not all 5* hotels, but definitely some): clean, large, great toilets and warm showers, and they even have some soap to use if you forgot yours. It could only be made better if they had a few playground items; that being said, you can take the lovely cliff walk, that starts right at the edge of the property, with wonderful views of the area, and walk into town to the playground across the bridge (or walk to the shops and eateries). Super spot to stay if you want to do the amazing Pukaha Mt. Bruce National Wildlife Centre, just 15 minutes down the road (I highly recommend their night tour!). Dog friendly too, which is always a plus. And a washing machine that is available for use. I really can't believe there weren't more people there! Well run beautiful campground!

We spent 3 nights there last week, was super cheap to stay at $7 per person for an unpowered site. The kitchen facilities were small but perfect, free ra he eggs left for us to take and they were gorgeous. Free laundry which was super. A huge firepit to light old bits of timber and sit around on the cool autumn evenings there. 20/10 for this little gem of a place
