Detailed Reviews
The staff and the facilities were very nice. The bathrooms were centrally located with toilet, shower together. They did have frosted glass doors which compromised privacy. As the floor would get wet, I feel hooks were needed to be able to keep items off the floor.
No unlimited wifi which could be a concern in our connected world.
Located close to the main road with traffic noise (though I didn’t feel it was too noisy) and walk to town.
I felt staying in Masterton was centrally located to access other tourist locations such as Castlepoint and wineries.

On the perimeter of Masterton this is a very convenient place to stay that is budget friendly. I had a standard cabin that had 2 sets of bunks, queen bed, table and chairs, bar fridge and heat pump.
The room was clean and tidy and the communal areas were well maintained. The best part was the individual bathrooms for the communal areas. Having a unisex room means you could undertake your ablutions in privacy.
It has a gate that opens onto the bottom of the main street and is just a few minutes to the main swimming complex. With lockable gates and barrier arms this campsite felt secure. I had to walk to the ablution block at 11pm on a Friday night and I was very comfortable doing so alone.

We were running late and the office had officially shut by the time we arrived. However, a very helpful staff member was still there and explained everything to us on arrival. We had a basic cabin with bunks and a queen bed. I never sleep well the first night in a strange bed, but these beds were so comfortable I had a great nights sleep.
The only thing I did not like, was the unisex bathrooms. I like the men's and women's facilities to be separate, I'm old-fashioned like that haha. But apart from that, the campground was clean and tidy and we enjoyed our stay in Masterton.

Great facilities, all the more surprising that a council has anything to do with it. Les the manager does an awesome job doing just about everything in the park. Very reasonable prices don't reflect the high standard of the amenities. Great spot as a base for the Wairarapa.

Booked for two nights with cabin with shared facilities. Cabin was close to amenities and comfortable. Heat pump kept us warm and bedding was exceptionally good quality. All amenities were modern and clean. Value for money. The camping ground was reasonably full. Has to be one of the best camp sites in the country.

We stayed here for a few nights while visiting Masterton. As we are a family of four, we decided to book the ensuite units. It was clean and tidy with a kitchenette and basic utensils provided. It also had air conditioning which was very refreshing in the hot summer weather. Easy access to laundry room and clothesline for drying clothes. Nice big tidy grounds and easy access to town. Overall value for money. Highly recommended.

Arrived late and unintended. It was not a hassle for the campground to accommodate me at short notice on a long weekend.
Very easy instructions to follow, friendly with tidy clean facilities.
Hot shower and a deep sleep had me away first light....
Thank you Mawley Holiday Park...

Stayed here for one night on our way through, nice site, lovely setting, powered sites. Convenient location, only 5/10minutes walk to the town. Excellent toilet/shower block, individual rooms with shower and toilet in, very clean and modern! Hot water! Well equipped kitchen room. Good value for money.

Stayed for 2 nights, in a standard cabin. Room had a heat pump, stoked! Really helped on the hot nights we were there.
In the high season, it was semi when we were there, I could see a problem with people extending their 10mins in the shower, as we had to wait a few times.
They playground was great - maybe something like a swing for the toddlers would be good, as an addition, at one time there were 14 kids on that swing.... and they weren't under 10..... It was great being close enough to the playground and I felt confident leaving my child there which is a rarity!
There was one yappy dog that yapped into the night which was a pain.
Weather was fabulous and it was an enjoyable stay with friendly staff.

We stayed at this park in our motor home. Beautifully laid out grounds, excellent facilities and extremely friendly Manager. Secure grounds. Walking distance to main street of Masterton. Approximately 45 min drive to Castlepoint Lighthouse which is well worth a visit.
