We stayed here in mid-June and had such a wonderful two nights stay with Robin and Elizabeth. They are wonderful hosts, warm and welcoming and their home is simply beautiful.
Though it was very cold in the Wairarapa during our stay the home and our room were very warm. The home is a real tribute to a bygone error. It is beautifully presented and maintained. Why would you stay in a sterile motel or hotel? There is plenty of hot water in the showers and the beds are comfortable. Many of the rooms are very spacious and It is very very quiet with only the occasional farm animal been heard. All the rooms have their own character and all of them are charming. The breakfasts are huge! We had to request less food the second morning of our stay so we could manage to eat lunch that day! A home-cooked country dinner can be cooked on request and its very good value. Elizabeths Apple Pie is stunning!
If you are interested Robin will also show you his collection of vintage vehicles, clocks, farming equipment....you name it it's there. And It's fascinating! It's like a mini-museum.
Landaff is the perfect place to stay and we will go back to the Waiaprapa just so we can stay there. It's only 5 minutes drive to the township of Masterton and It's perfectly located for exploring all of the Wairarapa. There is so much to see and do there. Castle Point is an absolute must!
Thank you Robin and Elizabeth for making our stay so enjoyable. We look forward to coming back soon.

I stayed overnight at the Llandaff whilst travelling for work. I was blown away by the property and how beautiful it was. The decor is of the highest quality and it has an amazing collection of antique furniture and decor throughout. The surrounding gardens are also beautiful. Last but certainly not least, Elizabeth and Robin were excellent hosts and I was served the most amazing breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend staying here, I certainly will stay here again and am very much looking forward to my next visit.

Don’t miss the opportunity to make Llandaff a memorable part of your vacation or getaway! Elizabeth and Robyn are by far the best hosts we’ve ever experienced. From the initial meeting to our departure three days later that ended with heartfelt hugs, we were made to feel like family. This is a truly exquisite homestead, period furnishings, with immaculate presentation! And the breakfast was just OUTSTANDING, cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented.
Enjoy the immaculate grounds and gardens, and take in the peaceful setting. It’s convenient to all the Wairapa towns and attractions and we used it as a base for our four day excursion. Don’t wish you stayed here, make it happen. You’ll leave with smiles and happy memories!

We had a wonderful experience staying with Elizabeth and Robin. What a team and involved couple busy to please the visitors. We were shown their enormous memorabilia in different parts of this property.
This is a one-off experience to stay there. We have enjoyed our stay with them both. When we move through this area, we would love to visit Llandaff again.
Thanks Elizabeth and Robin.

A truly magnificent experience at the Llandaff Country Retreat. Robin and Elizabeth were amazing hosts, very kind and friendly. Their attention to detail was evident throughout our stay, from the delicious breakfast right through to the luring of the golden pheasant to the front lawn, just so we could see it. Will definitely be returning to Llandaff - but next time with more time to explore the estate grounds.

Location a little out of town and well away from the road. On arriving we passed some deer and llama farm lands from the neighbours before we arrived at this 1890 mansion. We stayed only one night and since we were the only guests, we could choose from the several beautifully decorated rooms. Naturally we took the large front side “Bridal Suite” (58 m2) with king-size bed and en-suite modern shower room (4m2, with very large shower), but we could also use the classic bathroom with the old style lion claw bathtub. The very fine quality linen on the bed was the best you can get. The room led out onto a large balcony where we spent an evening looking out over the gardens, at passing bats, the stars and sipping our wine. The large house is really a gem with fine wooden floors and the interior full of style and collected antiques. We spend a lovely afternoon chatting with Elizabeth while having high tea. The morning, after a sumptuous breakfast with self-made jams, Robin came home from travelling and enthusiastically showed us his collection of old musical instruments and tools, and then showed us around the wedding hall and his restored antique vehicles. Would truly have loved to stay longer at this fantastic B&B!!

Beautiful home filled with antiques. Our room was just fabulous, huge, with the feel of a bygone age. Robin and Elizabeth are charming and interesting hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at Llandaff.

We arrived at Llandaff after a fairly gruelling drive from Wellington in the rain and the hosts, Robin and Elizabeth couldn't have been more welcoming. The house is gorgeous and it was lovely to experience a little gracious living. Bedroom was fabulous and the bed really comfortable. The house is a bit of a way out of Masterton but worth the extra effort for what you get. Thoroughly recommend Llandaff.
