Was such a lovely place to stay with our wee dog. Felt very welcome and was very impressed with the place and can tell a lot of work goes into the small touches.

Kaka point is a very cool place to visit :)

We stayed for three nights in Feb 24 as part of a three week tour around NZ South Island.

The location on the hillside above the cliffs and beach at Kaka Point is excellent, with great views. Accommodation is one of two units next to each other, but not overlooking at all all. Parking is on site.

The unit had everything we needed, with picture windows to take in the most of the view, and a good sitting area. There was a spa bath, although unfortunately it wasn't working when we were there (had just broken down).

The bed was probably the most comfortable we had throughout our travels.

Kaka Point itself is a good location to explore the Caitlins, with lots to do in the area. literally just down the road is an excellent seafood restaurant calledThe Point - their seafood platter is a must try.

This place is amazing. Beautiful unit with the most amazing view of the ocean all around. Waking up with the sun coming through the windows and hearing the ocean was the most relaxing start to the day. Host Lisa and Chris are super friendly and always available if needed. The unit is perfectly set up and very clean. Having a spa at the end of a long day exploring is perfect.
This is one short holiday we will never forget. Already planning our next trip to the Catlins and will most definitely stay at this luxury unit again.

Lovely unit with everything I needed. Spa bath was a treat. Great view and a very short walk to the beach. Either room would be good. Good value for money too.
I would go back and next time stay for more than one night.
I stayed on a night when the local tavern was closed so I went prepared to make my own meal.

Having stayed in some dire accommodation in Dunedin this was pure pleasure.
So comfortable and clean, two outside deck areas to enjoy the view and sun.
Unfortunately, it rained both our two days, but it was such a pleasure to arrive back and just relax in the comfortable chairs.

We had a lovely one night stay in late November. Beautiful views from the room and balcony. Large welcoming space. Very clean and well taken care of. Nice kitchen area. The nearby area is beautiful. Lovely beaches, Nugget point is a very short drive away. We came in on a rainy, cloudy day and it was great to see the views in the morning when the sky cleared up some. Check-in was easy. This seems a great place for a relaxing getaway. We had a nice one night rest along the journey.

Recently we stayed at the Kaka Point Luxury Spa Accommodation, it was a fantastic place to stay and just unwind, the rooms overlook the beach and surrounding coastline and they are more than comfortable, the views from the room are just wonderful, no matter where you are sitting or lying down and you are only a quick walk away from the Point Hotel for eats and treats.
its just one of those places where as soon as you walk into the room you are relaxed and starting to unwind, there is a TV in the room but we never switched it on as the views were wonderful and you actually did not want to disturb the piece.
Take a book sit back, read and relax.
There are also some walks and drives you may want to go on why you are there .i.e the Purakanui Falls, Nugget Point and Jakes Blowhole just to name a few.
Suggest you call into Balclutha for supplies as the shops are limitied
Make the most of the stay

On a recent business trip the township of Balclutha was full, so I stayed for one night at Kaka Point Spa Motel (20 km out of town). There are two well maintained studio style units with very comfortable king sized bed, great bathroom with separate shower and corner spa unit, spacious and relaxing living area for two people, a nice kitchen area with fridge and microwave allowing you to do the basics for breakfast etc. Peaceful, wonderful coastal views, lovely beach, only a 350 metre down hill walk to the Point Café & Bar for lunch or an evening meal with great food and drinks. Very handy location as Nugget Point Lighthouse is a must see. There is no on site office, so use their booking facilities which posed no problem and the communication was excellent. Excellent off street parking area as well. Will stay again when holidaying!

Very comfortable with lovely view.
Noisy neighbours mowing their lawns for hours! In a quiet tourist town it would be nice if they restricted mowing hours.
Lovely hostess- perhaps Lisa should buy the pub too- it needs a friendly owner!
