Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great location, clean rooms on nice grounds right by the river. Good size meals at the restaurant. Only downside was the weather was really hot and the small fan was not quite enough to cool the room.

We stayed at the Turangi Bridge Motel while doing the Tongaririo Crossing and were very happy with our accommodation. The units were clean and tidy, our hosts were friendly and helpful. We decided to eat on the second night at the in-house restaurant and bar and were so glad we did. The bar had a surprisingly good selection of drinks on offer and the dinner menu was great. One of our party couldn't stop talking about her fabulous Orange Roughy meal.
Thanks so much and we will return when we next have to stay in the area.

Great spot, lovely basic motel, suited our family of 4 adults perfectly. We had interconnecting rooms, both rooms had a kitchenette. There is no air con, but there are pedestal fans, which we used as it was surprisingly warm.

We stayed for one night at Turangi Bridge Motel. This is our third 'one night stay' in Turangi, at three different motels, and we've been happy every time.

The family unit we stayed in comprises two interconnecting units at less than the price of the two units individually. A clever and convenient option for families.

The units were clean and tidy, but were starting to show their age a little. Given the climate, heat pumps would have been a nice touch.

One small gripe... one of the legs of the bed was damaged meaning that the bed was unstable. We didn't notice this until well after reception had closed (I'm sure something would have been done if reception was still open). Given the way the bed had been propped up, I can't believe that housekeeping weren't aware of the issue as the bed could not have been made without the bed leg falling off.

Despite that issue, we would happily stay again.

Booked weeks in advance, requesting ground floor access (for disabled person). No mention in the confirmation that access to the rooms required walking up multiple stairs.

Wifi was an important factor in deciding where to stay. The advertisement claimed "free wifi", but it was not working for the duration of our stay. Reception assured me they had rebooted the router, but that didn't fix the fault. So, no internet for us!

Breakfast menu claimed room service was available on request. We requested room service when ordering breakfast for the following day, and were told room service not available. We booked a specific time for breakfast, but had to wait an extra 20 minutes to get it.

Decent sized grounds but parking areas were oddly defined and congested

All in all a very disappointing stay.

We stayed in a studio unit. Room is basic and but sufficient. It does not have a kitchenette, but there was a fridge, microwave and a toaster. Plus enough crockery. As this is no sink, only the bathroom vanity, it is a bit difficult to clean the crockery. Bathroom is also basic and I recommend the owners to add some additional facilities, hooks or towel rack, so towel can dry overnight. Although the room is for three persons there is only a small dining table with two chairs. For us no problem, but if you book with three people it will be.

My wife and I arrived on the off chance late afternoon to rest up for the night.
My hunch that the proprietor was manic after viewing the mass of warnings and notices plastered over the office doors proved accurate. My wife was treated rudely at reception, enough to walk away but we were keen to rest. She was told that the only room left was a twin bed unit. It was pokey dark and hot and lacking basic facilities There was no air conditioning. The kitchen and bathroom were one and the same, so we were forced to prepare an evening meal in the hand basin. Worse was the fact that surrounding our room were many vacant rooms some double and some two room options both of which would have suited us better. A nasty experience never to be repeated by us

just had the worst service experience of my life
booked into the restaurant for 7 pm. Served my meal at 9.18 pm.
The only explanation for the delay was ‘ we needed to serve the smaller gatherings first’. No apologies, no offers of drinks or finger food to help pass the time.
To top it all, the kitchen shut at 9.30 so no desserts were available - if we wanted them!
Don’t go there!

We booked on the day, and got a lovely unit overlooking the river, sparkling clean, with a very nice bathroom, whirlpool bath, powerful shower, and comfy bed. It turns out, this was one of my Dad's favourite places, and I can see why, the man has a great nose for a great deal! We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant, perfectly cooked venison! The staff I dealt with were all extremely helpful, and delightful, even when I had to go back, having left something in the room. We enjoyed a spa bath in perfect privacy, and had a lovely relaxing stay!

Great motel, clean, comfortable, great restaurant on site.
Beautiful location, well maintained grounds. The Lobby and restaurant
are decorated in a rustic style that reminded us of Rocky Mtn resorts
we have stayed at. Included in the decoration was a 3 demential.
