We stayed at one of the rooms and had a great time. It's a simple room, but is clean and has everything we need. Parking is no problem as they just let you park in front of your room.
The large lawn is nice and we saw family playing outside. There was a bit of a wait to check-in. The customer in front of us was a regular and the reception staff was very warm and friendly.
We chose this lodge because it has a dining restaurant. They can bring food to your room or you can dine in as well. We chose to dine in. There are some truckers (regulars) and they seem to have a great time. We were treated warmly and had a wonderful meal. The food was excellent!!
It was a great stay if you are doing a roadtrip through NZ.

I've become a regular all year, once a fortnight approximately, one night, out the next morning. No fuss booking, payment. Parklands add that little bit extra like put the heater on for me to warm the room on cold evenings before I arrive. Room is comfortable with all the amenities. Dinner menu is scrumptious selection, I love the chicken and steak, shrimp entree washed down with a beer. I have started ordering lunch for the next days travel save calling into cafes. Always a childish glee looking inside what's to eat. Also continental breakfast before I hit the road in the morning. Just makes easy and no fuss. VG wifi too. Turangi can be 4 seasons in one day. Staff are friendly.

Positives: The location was fabulous and enough parking. We thought that the variety of cabins/rooms and tent/caravan accessibility was a great asset to the accommodation. The hosts were very lovely. Beds were comfy and well made. The shower pressure was excellent. It was a quiet area.
Negatives: Advertised as air-conditioned but there was no air-conditioner in the room.

A pleasant enough 1 night stay with our birding group recently. The room and bathroom were rather small but quaint with wood paneled walls. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the counter space was nice. We ate in the attached restaurant for dinner and there were no vegetarian selections available which was a disappointment.

Whilst the website has some nice imagery and suggests a peaceful haven in the charming town of Turangi, beware the advertising if you are intending to camp. Plentiful motel units is the clue - this is a single night stay for people moving through, not ideal for campers at all.
Whilst the space is adequate, there is no shade and nothing between you and State Highway 1 and the the non-stop juggernauts steaming and grunting past. It is very noisy, 24/7. Perhaps fine if you are in a motel unit but not if you are in a tent! The location also serves as a truck stop, and the truck noisily leaving at 4am, taking 15 minutes to run through its start up routine, ensured a very restless night.
A walk into Turangi for supplies or a meal is also not on the cards - it was hard enough to drive across SH1 let alone walk.
The kids were happy with the amenities though, and the lovely Waikato River Cycle Trail starts just a few metres from the site.

We had a complete room with a king-size bed, the room was very dusty, neither the baseboards nor the windows had been cleaned in years. We complained and they told us that they would clean us the next day but NOT only did they NOT do it but they didn't even do the cleaning for us. bed, they didn't leave us new towels, shampoo, or milk, nor did they empty the trash cans. workers totally incompetent and with excuses. It's not worth what it costs. The pool is laughably small, the restaurant very slow and with few options. Unusable wifi.

We visited the restaurant only. Reasonable pub food and the prices were ok. However, there were no vegetarian options which is unacceptable Lucily our vegetarian friend was able to eat shellfish although she said it was too heavy encased as it was in breadcrumbs

Great location. Very close to the supermarket and restaurants. Rooms are basic but more than adequate for short term stay Good facilities for the family and especially the kids Highly recommended as a location to stay if you are doing the Tongariro Crossing

This is a comfortable, well-priced and well-located motel. The space was great for two people and it is also a good place for shuttle pickups for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again if traveling in this area.

I had an amazing stay at the motel onsite! The rooms were spotlessly clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The peaceful setting added to the charm, and waking up to the beautiful views was a treat. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. It was such a bonus having the restaurant nearby, with its fantastic food and service. This place is perfect for a relaxing getaway—highly recommend it!
