I had a 3 night stay at Tui Lodge last week - just loved it all. comfortable bed, powerful shower, outlook to a lovely spring garden and hearing the Tui's singing most of the day. Breakfast of fresh and stewed fruit from the garden was super. Hadn't ever put salt in the rhubarb while cooking - gosh it was so nice not having that tart taste. Ian took us out fishing in the boat - no trout this time but lovely to be out on the water and have him point out the landmarks. I would truly recommend this Bed and Breakfast in Turangi! Very relaxed, quiet and close to the town.
Tui Lodge exceeded all our expectations and some. Accommodation is spacious and very clean and the proprietors Ian and Frances make you feel very welcome and really do their best to ensure you get the most from your stay in the area. Breakfast is something else particularly if you like Rhubarb. Lots of fresh fruit mainly from the garden. Also got to try Golden Kiwi’ for the first time. I really cannot recommend Tui Lodge enough. Ideal for anyone.
I had the pleasure of staying with Ian and Francis for two days with my family over the holiday period. The rooms are immaculate with beautiful on suite showers. Ian and Francis are wonderful hosts not only do they do the best breakfast we have had in the Southern Hemisphere (most of which is grown in their garden) but they are also very knowledgable and helpful in pointing you in the right direction for the local attractions. I couldn't recommend staying here more.
We stayed at Tui Lodge for three days, hosts Ian & Francis were fantastic, loved the home cooked breakfast with fresh fruit & rhubarb straight from the garden. 5 star accommodation & service at a fraction of the price you would expect to pay. Great value ! Ian runs guided trout fishing tours & supplies all the good gear for the novas or experienced fisherman. My 22 year old son had never tried fly fishing before, but Ian had him catching fish in the first hour !! Ian, Thanks for your patience & the stress relief.
Hosts made us feel very comfortable. Treated as members of the family yet given our own "space". Great local knowledge and stunning garden. Overall just like being at home but with staff to provide for every need.
