We stayed here for a week over Christmas. The owners really go out of their way to make sure you’re enjoying your stay. Our room, although a bit tired, had everything we needed to make a simple meal, a fridge, a hob and a microwave with plenty of utensils, frying pan, saucepans etc. There were also free bbq facilities under a covered seating area. Everything was kept clean, towels and bedding were changed frequently. There was a washing machine, which was $2 and you had the choice of tumble dryer (extra cost) or line drying. We had a four person accommodation, there were studios too but they did not have many facilities. We found this stay was very reasonably priced, was close to the town for food shopping etc but was quiet. The WiFi was a bit slow and sometimes dropped out completely. We wanted to phone our family on Christmas Day but it didn’t work too well but this was a minor inconvenience. Compared to subsequent motels we have stayed at, Judges Pool had the best facilities.

We've passed thru Turangi on our way between Auckland & Wellie...this is a great place, plenty of space for 4 to sleep, kitchen, etc.
Owners are accommodating and helpful...called us to check on our arrival time so they could turn on aircon to cool room before we arrived!
An awesome option mid-way as you travel down highway one.

It has been 5+ years since we stayed here, and we still find it a comfortable spot. It isn't the flashest motel, but is well laid out and in summer with front and back doors open it can be pleasantly cool without needing the air conditioning (and it does get VERY hot in Turangi mid-summer). Clean and comfortable with all the items we needed in the kitchen. The WiFi is okay, but we did experience some glitches in the evenings. It is a short walk to the river or in to Turangi for food and takeaways. We find it a good spot and will stay there again if stopping in Turangi.

While this motel is well located it is in desperate need of an overhaul. The furniture is in very poor condition and is so old that it is holding all the odors of a rotten kitchen, cooking smells, and body odor which is overwhelming as you enter the unit. The kitchen is well beyond its use by date and badly needs removing. The smell of rotting chip board permeates as soon as you open a cupboard. The bathroom has had an update to an open wet area which is great but needs a good clean to remove mould.
Fittings and fixtures are old and tired but there is good heating with a fairly new heat pump.
The bedroom is roomy a bed the bed quite comfortable enough for a short stay.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!
Disgusting old rooms, cutlery looks really old, beds are so soft that I got a very bad backpain in the morning. It seemsthat the rooms are filled with stuff collected from kerbside spring cleanout. Most importantly, the owner is one unetchical and unprofessional business person I have come across. We left behind a toy of our daughter and a phone charger, when contacted initially he asked me to send a pre-paid courier envelope, but when followed up he put me to ranson to first delete a negative review that I didn't even write at the first place. He was so rude that he didn't even listen to me and hanged up.
So, a man who has the audacity to throw a child's toy, over charge customers for disgusting rooms, and hang up on his guests doesn't deserve any business whatsoever. This pandemic should be an eye opener for such shady businesses. #donotstayhere

Very comfortable clean & tidy and friendly management. However after a recent South Island trip believe that the accommodation is $20 per night overpriced.
1) Extremely poor wi-fi after saying highspeed wi-fi
2) Only free-view television
3) milk for coffee supplied just one day of four day stay

We arrived late evening and were given a friendly welcome. We found the room and beds warm and comfortable. Heat pump , electric blanket and lots of extra blankets if needed. Very toasty warm on a cool evening.
The shower had good pressure.
While the decor was a little dated we found the room clean and comfortable .

A good room with a reasonable sized lounge/kitchen and a good size bedroom. Our room was showing some wear and tear but do not let that put you off. The town is within walking distance but there was not many restaurants.

I stayed here for the weekend recently. I found it basic and overpriced for what it is.
Could do with a massive upgrade but instead they're building more units.
My heat pump wouldn't work and it was a cols night. No electric blankets on any of the beds. This is Turangi, near snow covered mountains. Wouldn't be staying here again

We stayed at the judges Pool motel for four days and we were lucky enough to feel realy at home.
The host welcomed us with our dutch flag and showed us our cosy appartement.
After our activities in Turangi, we were able to cook. That was realy great.
Thanks for the lovely stay and the wonderful little present.😊
