Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pros: Clean & comfortable; handicap-accessible shower; surprisingly strong Wi-Fi; easy access to Spellbound & Waitomo Caves. Cons: Near a main road, so you'll hear every heavy vehicle rumble through (and, in my case, the neighbors setting off fireworks); cold shower; and my smoke alarm was missing?!

I would like to thank Mike n Theresa for their friendly service I recieved while I stayed at their motel. The room was super clean and the bathroom was just as clean, the only thing I would suggest is if the shower could be a little bigger it was a very tight squeeze trying to get in with the door being so small, other wise I throughly enjoyed my stay

Nice motel close to middle of town. Very nice rooms, clean and warm with comfy beds. The main road is close, so there is some truck noise, but its also convenient for getting into town. Helpful owners, this is a good place to stop.

What a great stay! clean, tidy, warm and comfy bed. Walking distance to all shopping amenities. Our friends stay in Room 6 great family room... we had Room 12, had all we needed lived the extra blankets...only issue with the room was the closeness of the road..the trucks whizzing passed shock the room at times. Would still stay again.

One bedroom unit was perfect for three of us, clean and tidy, exceptionally comfortable beds, great shower and very affordable. Hosts are so friendly and helpful, would definitely stay again. We stopped here overnight between Hamilton and Ongarue for the Timber Trail. Great location for accessing the Timber Trail where we were picked up by Blackfern Lodge to go to the start in Pureora.

I searched on-line for quite a while for somewhere to stay for a trip to waitomo caves. Most options in Waitomo seemed to have bad reviews and appear to have seen better days. This motel was only 10 minutes drive from the meeting point of our caving trip. The room was really up to date, recently renovated with new seeming carpet, modern bathroom and nice decor. The room was really spacious, spotlessly clean and warm. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and when we left something behind acccidently they were happy to post it back.

We had looked for a hotel in a prior town and struck out, but hit a home run finding Motel Te Kuiti. (We needed a stopping point before our hikes around Waitomo.) The managers were just wonderful - pleasant and very helpful, both with a delightful sense of humor. Our rooms were really clean, spacious, and affordable.
