It is within a 2 minute walking distance to the harbour and only a 10 minute stroll to Whangamata's main beach, one of New Zealand's favourite beaches. Whangamata is the gateway to the Coromandel and great outdoor activities. While you stay at The Pipinui you can kayak to Whenuakura Island, fish off the beach or day trip to great walks such as Cathedral Cove, soak in the sand at Hot Water beach or simply relax on the deck outside your lovely unit. Local shops, restaurants, great cafe's and food markets are all nearby. From the moment we turned in the drive way you could see the attention to detail.
A quiet, spotlessly clean well presented motel with a great setup.
Our room was spacious and very well presented and decorated, didn't feel like a motel studio, such a relaxing environment.
Air Condition was very efficient and quiet!
Kitchenette was very functional and well presented,
as was the bathroom with its tiling and GREAT water pressure in the shower and quality shower product on offer.
The outside area was private, functional and well presented with a large umbrella for shade.
Wi-fi worked well for both of us.
The bed was great, comfortable with quality linen and decent pillows.
AND last but not least is Rose, very knowledgeable, accommodating and great to chat with.
This is our Go To Place in Whangamata, no need to look anywhere else
And would be willing to pay more for a place like this!

Arrived, phoned a very pleasant hostess and within minutes we were in a lovely beautifully appointed room with all one needs for any length of stay. Absolutely spotless with a well set-up kitchen, spacious bathroom and a very comfortable bed.
The motel is in a quiet part of town close to the marina, river and beach and is not far from the shops.
Our hostess helpfully commented that the local RSA was a great place to dine and so it was.
Definitely recommend this as a very pleasant and relaxing place to stay in Whangamata.

We have stayed here several times and will definitely stay again in the future. Large, spotless rooms (only 4) in a quiet area close to the harbour, beach, shops and restaurants. A great place to stay in Whangamata.

Cleanest motel I’ve ever stayed in. Comfortable and he everything you might need. Friendly, hospitable hosts that are more than happy to help out with anything you might need or share local knowledge and ideas of things to do. 10/10 would recommend!

Great location within a minute walk of the inlet and 5-10 minutes walk of the main beach. The room was quiet and clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. The kitchen and bathwoom were modern and functional. We had our own washing line. The sitting deck was sunny and private. Thanks Rose - you are a lovely hostess!

I arrived in early afternoon without booking. Lovely lady settled me in a nice big room. The room’s decor was simple but delicate. Overall environment was cozy and relax.
As a honest review, the only down part is the shower towel I used was bit of moldy smell. My personal opinion was just because it wasn’t fully dry out after laundry or maybe just sitting for too long. It wasn’t troubling too much.

This was a happy find for us. Quiet, small and spotlessly clean motel. The rooms were big and the décor fresh.
It's so close to all the amenities and the beach.
The service was fabulous as well. The manager gave us great recommendations and was super helpful.

I was genuinely appalled at the demeanour and service provided by the Pipinui Motel. The staff were rude and inconsiderate and could have potentially cost us $1000s of dollars through their actions.
I would not recommend staying here under any circumstances.

The rooms are OK for the price, but the advertised free WiFi was all but useless in our room. Being told to sit in front of another room and wave my laptop about until I had a signal didn't help. Likewise pointing out that the TV remote didn't work elicited a rant about guests who push the wrong buttons. Turned out the problem was the remote and not the guests, as swapping it for one from another room solved the problem. Definitely not the most friendly or helpful management.
