Awesome stay! Lots of things to do, great location, lots of amenities at the motel and a well stocked gym just a short walk away. We were actually surprised in a good way with how much more we had available for our 2 night stay and wished we stayed longer. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. All I’d say is book direct to help everyone… Thanks again!

Would 100% recommend and stay again.

- Cal

We have been staying here for 15 years now and love coming back to the same apartment. The rooms are always spotless and the care and attention that is given to the grounds and swimming pool is second to none. The location is just perfect for shopping, eating out or for a stroll to the beach for a swim. We highly recommend this resort and cant wait to come back again.

We booked 4 nights at Palm pacific and were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived.
Very friendly and helpful management.
The units was very well presented and clean.
Much more so than many I have stayed at.
Being right on the edge of the Main Street means it’s only one minutes walk to anywhere for shopping and eating.
Lovely big pool and cosy spa.
Unfortunate the weather wasn’t for swimming but certainly for spa days which we did plenty of.
They have Patonce as well as a tennis court and gas BBQ for use.

Be careful to ask for a refurbished unit as all the rooms are individually decorated and individually equipped with different aged appliances. We had Unit 3 on the ground floor and in my opinion it was in need of an update. The room smelled of smoke. Furniture was dark and very scuffed and old. The walls and door ways were in need of a paint job and the carpet, curtains and tiles were out dated. The shower was extremely old and mouldy and in need of replacement with the toilet roll holder bearly hanging onto the wall. The kitchen had no oven or dishwasher but I noticed some units did offer this. Thankfully the resort was near empty or it would be noisy alongside the gate to the pool with very little privacy. Upstairs units would at least have some privacy from people walking past and a better outlook. I have been in the travel industry all my life and didn't feel that the price represented the standard of the room. We appreciated that the owners kindly accommodated our 6 guests (rather than 2) at the last minute by charging additional $30 per person and although our unit was as clean as possible, it was tired and dated and I would be very disappointed to be staying more than overnight in that environment for the price. I think if you could make full use of the large pool and bbq area and central location to the shops and beach in better weather, you may feel you had value for money but the rooms should be of equal standard or priced accordingly or you might feel unlucky like us.

Stayed in Family Unit #2 - Six of us in total. The initial look of the place was good. The first thing we noticed was the bathroom drawer had been damaged and not repaired.
The host was very polite and helpful as we had problems with the TV /SKY which he was unable to repair and apologized offering a discount on the initial cost for the night (still to be resolved). The TV and DVD are in need of an upgrade as they are such an old model and no longer working.
The queen & king beds were hard and could do with a new mattress as you could feel the springs in the mattress which caused a few family members a sore back, lucky there was a spa which we could soak the aches and pains away.
The pull-out couch was just as hard as the beds above; however, the singles gave 2 of our family members a good night sleep.
The kitchen had all required utensils to cook a dinner, shower was hot and good pressure.
There's a big tennis court with rackets and balls available.
Town is just walking distance for a good dinner.

Overall, the Unit was clean and tidy. But for the cost of $361 per night I would have preferred a good night sleep and watched a bit of SKY later in the night.

We loved our stay last week 5 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment. Spacious and well appointed with a drying rack and home comforts, perfect for families. The weather wasn’t the best but we enjoyed the pool, spa and close proximity to town. Hosts and staff were hard working and efficient with the changing of towels and toiletries.

What an incredible time we had as guests at the Palm Pacific Resort during Whangamata's famous Beach Hop weekend.
Our units were spotlessly clean and the managers, Dan and Grace, were a breath of fresh air, always friendly and nothing too much trouble.
The grounds were impeccably groomed and the central location made it so easy to get around and explore all that Whangamata had to offer.
We'll definitely be back for the school holidays as it feels like we've found our "happy place".

The location was amazing as you walk out the gate and there are cafes and restaurants right there.
The disappointing thing was that the pool is 2 metres deep. It doesn't slope up like most pools to make a shallow part to stand in then get gradually deeper. I was unable to spend any time in the water with my 4 year old as it was too precarious to swim with her and also try to keep myself afloat.
If I'd known that I would have chosen different accommodation as one of the reasons we chose a place with a pool was to spend time teaching her to swim and spend time in the water with her.
There was a baby pool but with a few inches of water - so suitable for up to 1 year old.

Excellent accomodation, room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed including aircon. Palm Resort is in a great location , walking distance to cafes and the beach but is still perfectly quiet at night. Dan is a great host and we would highly recommend staying here.

Well located close to town although a little way to the beach if you are walking. The facilities with the BBQ area, pool and tennis court are great for families and the owners and staff are really helptful.

The rooms are clean although some could use a refresh. I guess the only complaint about the rooms was that there was no freezer or even an icebox in the fridge
