Great location with fantastic views. We stayed in a cabin, which was clean and functional, with a deck overlooking the beach. Great to relax on with a beer after a hard day😉. Bed was comfy and overall the cabin was clean and tidy. New towels supplied every day. You’ve got a foodmart, cafe, takeaway, restaurants etc all within a short walking distance.Would definitely revisit. One thing which didn’t bother us, but might some, is the noise from the bar next to the ground. They played live music (which was particularly good, so we ended up there till closing…..). We stayed in Unit 10, so avoid that side of the ground if you think it will bother you. Again, lovely stay, and nice staff.
Stayed in an amazing suite set in private gardens with brilliant deck where we were able to relax with a wine and snacks. Lovely spacious living area and bathroom with a very comfortable large bed. The suite was spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend this resort. Staff were so accomodating and friendly. Price was realistic given that local motels / hotels were asking $300+!!
Absolute terrible experience. Upon arrival I was told my card would be charged an amount that it wasn't it was charged more. There was a man on site living in his car who got completely wrecked on booze and stole alot of my property plus another man's fishing rod, my phone, my food and also I had to contact police who didn't show up as he was trying to have fights with people while drunk and I was left to deal with it as nobody onsite would help and many guests were disturbed and scared. The scene was late in the evening, caused plenty of noise and commotion and he eventually drove around others tents around the park before leaving completely passed in his car with completely bald tires. His ID he showed me looked nothing like him and upon making complaint to the reception who had freely decided, after over charging the first night to up the rate of nightly stay even more and book for two occupants instead of one! They refused to do anything about it and persisted to try convince me to stay longer making out like they were in the right! I packed my belongings and left. Last time I'll be staying there and wouldn't recommend it to any of the elderly or families wishing to have a peaceful holiday.…
We've been coming to this Motor Camp for over 20 years. We have experienced it in Private ownership, in the Top 10 Group, back to private management and now to Tasman management. It is fairly obvious Tasman's management style is very different from we have experienced in the past. Hasn't got that personal touch. Noticeably, - Cleaning standards, more so the rooms/cabins, ablution blocks still good. - Rubbish left under the beds etc. - Items missing from the room, crockery and rubbish bags. - Kitchen locked with no reason given, - Campers freezer capacity reduced and arguably insufficient when busy. We asked for a broken plate to be replaced, somehow the message didn't get through to the team servicing the rooms. Other regulars we meet there each year had similar complaints. Despite the above: - Excellent location, - Great facilities, and - Courteous Staff It seems the Tasman Management style is not as good as we have experienced in the past.…
Beach villa top location in park, totally worth paying for to be beachfront here. Thought it wasnt quite as clean as our last visit, and in need of some tidying up of the interior. Sheets, pillows ok, pretty ave sleep, heat pump restricted to a 1 hr timer. $350 approx pn for 4 adults. Pretty good value overall for location. Staff at reception great, very prompt. Shout out to Edward.
The Beachfront Villas although furnished beautifully, and with great views, can be extremely noisy depending on the degree of respect or lack of respect that your immediate neighbour lives by. The villas are connected by shared wooden floors that resound even the noise of walking in the next door unit. If you’re fortunate you might get a vacant villa beside you, if not good luck. Had the worst night ever in one of these this year, partying neighbours that the resort did nothing about as they no longer employ night security to check for noise after 10.00pm, despite their rules. Given this was our second year in a row of disturbed sleep and no peace to enjoy the Villa we will not be staying in a Villa here again. However, the rest of the campground is highly recommended. We have been staying here for over 15 years.…
I really love the beach front studios at Papamoa Beach Resort as they've not only got the view but they have a hot tub as well and believe me it's very hard to find nice accommodation with both!! The staff are always very friendly and helpful and the entire park is always clean and well presented! a real gem :)
We had a powered Motorhome site for 4 days. The site was roomy and had good access to the Beach. Our Schnoodle loved her walks on the beach and chased the ball through the sand and sea until our arms got tired. The facilities are first rate and very clean and tidy. Access to the on site restaurant for a night out is a great asset.
This was my second stay at the Papamoa Beach Resort and once again, I loved it. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore in the night and waking up to a beautiful sunrise is just magical. We had the beach right on our back doorstep.. The rooms are gorgeous, beds are comfy and the shower also had great pressure. Overall an excellent stay at an idea location. Once you park up, you don't have to drive anywhere with everything you need within walking distance.
Great place to relax and chill out with walks along the beach. Papamoa mall is very close with outlet stores and places to eat. Can be very busy in peak times but that’s what happens when your in a popular spot. Certain times of the year you can have a dog but only in certain spaces. We stay here often.
