A wonderful room in an amazing location with fantastic scenery. My room was spacious, clean, comfortable and so very peaceful and it was lovely to be able to walk straight out onto the balcony to take in the views. My hosts were very welcoming and helpful. I loved my two day stay.

Had a couple of nights with John and Sharron at the top of Papamoa Hills. They are about 10 mins away from the town hub with amazing views down to the madness. Only one room available nowadays and this was pretty comfortable with a balcony and your own shower, toilet etc. Breakfast was included and it was nice to sit on the back deck and chat with them both in the morning. There is also a swimming pool and tennis court ( needing attention) but overall a peaceful alternative to all the usual noise. Enjoy….,

John and Sharron still have their working dogs having taken over this panoramic residence a few years ago. Right form the first handshake you know this is going to be a fun stay. It's quiet, it's homely and the breakfast was superb, thanks guys, I'll see you on the next trip

15 minute drive up winding picturesque roads to large farm house on top of the scarp. Nice big room with en suite and verandah. Huge delicious breakfast, very quiet, lovely views over a classic rural landscape. John will happily provide you with a wide range of farming, gardening or cooking tips if asked. Don't forget to try the tamarillo relish with your sausages..

Having spent 6 weeks in Auckland we wanted a long weekend away, with a change of scenery, The Warwick Hills Retreat certainly gives you that.

We were met at the front door by John, a no nonsense former cattle and sheep farmer, who quickly welcomed us into his home and showed us to our rooms, the views across the country to the sea and islad in the distance.

We played tennis on the grass court even if it was a bit bumpy with lots of uneven bounce or no bounce at all adding to the fun. A quick shower later (shortage of water maybe a problem to those guests who like taking a long shower) and a visit to a Restaurant recommended by Sharon (John's wife) in Palamo 15mins away, we arrived back at the retreat to find everyone else in bed.

Breakfast selections are made the night before to help in the early morning preparations.

Room was large with its own balcony, bed was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep only to wake with chickens rummaging in the garden.

Breakfast was outside on the large patio outside the kitchen, and cooked by John. Good selection of cereals, fresh fruit and yogurts followed by cooked breakfast, excellent.

John and Sharon have four dogs two large NZ Hunters which are generally asleep and two small dogs, but its fair to say they do not bother you.

If you want a couple of nights away from the stresses of everyday life and wish to meet an interesting couple the proprietors of Warwick Hills Retreat fit the bill.

I would be happy to return again.

We stayed here for 1 night in mid-december whilst visiting the mount. This place is a little out of town but don't let that put you off. The room has great views of Papamoa hills (worth a walk if you the time) and the breakfast was up there with the best we experienced on our entire 5 week trip. Highly recommend. John & Sharron are wonderful hosts and we'd gladly come again.

Bring cash as they don't accept credit cards.

we arrived late in the day to be greeted by john and sharron in the drive way, instantly felt welcomed and at home, our room was so nice, so many homely touches and the bed was so comfy, we had an amazing view of the hills and sea from our balcony. both john and sharron gave us loads of info on the town and answered all of our weird questions about the aria, john even took us down in to the town for dinner as we had a motorbike which was a interesting drive down the gravel track to the house, the breakfast was amazing such a mixture of good food , there is even fresh produce grown by them that they make in to jams and preserves! would definatley recommend to every one, hope to go back again in the future!
