The Ancient Hamlet of Poggitazzi is situated in a central location close to major cities of art, Florence, Arezzo and Siena: it is an ancient Ghibelline fort and over the centuries has turned into a historic Florentine villa, surrounded by an italian garden, with adjoining the church dedicated to St. Anthony, the cellars dating back to 1300, the oil mill, the granary. Near the historic Villa, a farmhouse has been restored and used as an agritourism: the Agritourism Antica Villa Poggitazzi. The accomodations are sober and very comfortable: the rooms and apartments are decorated in a most classic Tuscan style.

We stayed two nights in September, Thursday-Saturday. The apartment was spacious and the surroundings were absolutely beautiful. Right outside our bedroom window were olive branches and the olive trees were everywhere.

The swimming pool was kept in excellent condition.

Dear SwedishTenor, many thanks for your words! We are really happy that you enjoyed your stay here during September. In this period our vineyards and olives grooves are full of fruits and the countryside is preparing for the harvest. With our olives we produce an excellent Extra Virgin Olive Oil, in our oil mill, with stone mills! Hope to see you again! Best regards, Chiara and all the Staff of Antico Borgo Poggitazzi

Dear Grzegorz, thank you so much for your words! We are really happy that you enjoyed your stay by us! Yes, the main cities of Tuscany are easily reachable from our position: we are sourraunded by nature but only 15 minutes far from highway! And Florence, Arezzo, Siena, Chianti's Hills are less than 1 hour by car far from us. All around our estate there are vineyards and olive groves and you can walk around and live the rural life. A real escape from stress! Thank you again, hoping to see you again soon! Chiara and all of us of Agriturismo Antico Borgo Poggitazzi

We wanted to stay at a winery during our honeymoon and found this spot on the Internet. It was a highlight of our trip. Our room had a beautiful view (just don't leave the windows open overnight in the fall - we had giant bugs try to take over our room). Breakfast was simple, but filling. Be ready for a winding road that leads to this winery, but with beautiful scenery.
We did the wine and oil tour while there and the staff is very knowledgeable and gave great history about the place. While they struggle with English sometimes, we seemed to manage and it was a wonderful few days.
We easily drove into Florence for the day from this winery, and also had a great time exploring the nearby towns.

The location is extraordinary, providing a very nice experience of the nature of Tuscany. Rooms are nicely and traditionally decorated. The pool gives extra points to this agroturismo.
Finally, the people operating the agroturismo are very nice and kind to help.
Strongly recommended for a genuine and relaxing experience in Tuscany.

We just got married at Poggitazzi and it was truly amazing. We had 50 guests and were looking for an agriturismo to host everyone for the weekend. A friend recommended Poggitazzi and it truly was perfect. The owners Concetta and Cosimo know how to put on a wedding - everything was meticulously executed. The food & wine was amazing (traditional sit down Italian food for both nights, appetizers including hand-cut prosciutto and sausages -- they make their own Chianti and Olive Oil production), the service was ridiculously good (I loved the waiters) and the rooms were very clean and it actually was the most comfortable bed we slept in (and we stayed at a lot of high-end hotels for our honeymoon).

Everyone loved Poggitazzi and said it was the best wedding they have ever been to. I know we will return to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Stunning is an understatement. We have literally just returned home from Poggitazzi and it is one of the most beautiful places we have every stayed in. The views are breathtaking, the farmhouse beautiful and grounds impressive. The staff were so lovely and helpful and couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We stayed in a one bed self catering apartment and it was very clean, comfortable and more then adequate for our stay with stunning views across the valley and down to the pool. Breakfast was a simple yet satisfying spread with something for everyone. With tours of their olive oil factory and wine tasting, very young children may find a trip like this a little boring as other then the pool, slide and swings there is not much to entertain them, however my son who is 2 had a great time simply running around the grounds and every effort was made to accommodate him during our stay. If you are looking for bars and night life then this trip is not for you… Poggitazzi is an idyllic retreat for a quiet, relaxing getaway with plenty of countryside to explore, wine to drink and nearby restaurants to dine in. A car is essential in order to get around and explore comfortably. To sum up , we are so happy that we are already organising dates to return. Thank you to Valentina and team for making our stay so pleasurable.
