The tavern is lovely, is located in a very small village "Penna". My son and I ate on the outside terrace with a very nice view of the valley and Newfoundland.
The waiters are all kind and friendly.
We ate very well, special dishes and well cared for by the chef, the Tuscan tradition slightly revisited, but without transforming the flavors (also appreciated by a boy) and explained by the chef's collaborators in detail.
A truly magical evening.

I had dinner with the family at this restaurant and it was a really nice evening. Pleasant atmosphere, very kind and competent staff, very sought after and excellent quality food. A real cuddle! Prices in line with the quality of food and service.

Room Tip: Discesa un po' impervia da fare con i tacchi, preferire una calzatura un po' più comoda

We stayed here for 1 night on a little getaway from Florence. If I could do it again, I would definitely stay longer.
The dinner was absolutely amazing and easily one of the best top 5 food experiences of my life. Between my husband and I, we tried 8 different dishes and all of them were excellent. The wine that Simone suggested, after hearing our tastes and preferences, was also excellent. The service was not perfect (we were offered the dessert menu before my husband received his main dish, and we had to wait a long time to order, for example), but the most important part (the dinner!) was absolutely excellent (and so was the view!). The breakfast could be a bit more varied (too many sweet foods and not enough savory / something other than bread or pastry).
After living in Florence for a few weeks, this was one of the best nights sleep I got--fresh air, quiet nights, waking up fresh in the morning to the rooter. I enjoyed my first espresso in the cool, quiet early morning (so great that a kitchenette was in our room to make some coffee!)
The pool and the setting was beautiful, the gardens are beautiful, Simone was very friendly, and overall, it was a perfect getaway for our family, baby included.
If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely make sure to get out of Florence and head straight here!

I did not stay in the hotel, but went for dinner with friends. The hostess Simone, daughter of the chefs, was charming and warm. We had their specials for the evening, buratta cheese with fresh figs and proscuitto, ravioli (made in house) stuffed with melanzane and served with a light tomato sauce, fresh bread (made by Simone) and the best, lightest, most fantastic cheesecake in the world! Il migliore cheesecake!
Will definitely go back.

Simona pours her heart and soul into this venue. Simple clean bedrooms with touches of times past. This is not a trendy hip hotel but an authentic Tuscan house. Breathtaking views from the pool area. Simona's food is some of the best we tasted in Tuscany. All the ingredients are sourced either from her garden or from local producers. This hideaway is an ideal retreat place...immersed in nature. I would highly recommend this b&b.

We had no idea what this place was like when we were invited to a destination wedding here. It is idyllic! Stone streets/walkways, old homes converted into charming guest rooms. Helpful staff. Sits high on a hill and can be a challenge to find. Penna Alta isn't really a town, but neither is Penna. Make sure you have good directions because your GPS probably won't find it. Great prices and good food.

Small cottages clustered near each other in a tiny medieval village that was rebuilt stone by stone by Mauro, the owner. A secluded and romantic atmosphere locked away in time.
Our accommodation slept up to 6 people with a small kitchen all in local rustic style. Everything was perfectly proportioned. Very functional bathroom and modern shower. Both the veg garden with swimming pool and the garden restaurant were very accessible.
Excellent sleeping quality and treatment.
A must for Tuscan hill lovers.

This was a sweet setting & the food was good - tasty modern Italian, with a twist on a few classic dishes, vegetarian options available.
Lovely home-made breads, mains on the salty side & smallish portions, but in summer heat that is fine - though fluffily light Tiramisu was massive - 1 portion plenty for 3.
Service was hit & miss, sometimes very attentlve, sometimes felt like we were getting the tourist treatment, not all specials offered & long wait for menu & ordering.
Be sure to request the best terrace in the bushes, but the other terraces are still nice.
