Podere il Doccio was one of the best holiday locations we have ever been to.
Everything was well taken care of in our apartments (we rented both bottom floor apartments) and throughout our stay. At such an idyllic location, finding it can prove to be a little bit tricky, but Francesco or Marina will be more than glad to show you the way. The apartments are great for young and old. The swimming pool is a fantastic way to cool down on a hot day, and for those colder nights there is a wonderful jacuzzi right next to the pool. Only 45 minutes away from the beautiful city of Florence, and close to all the other fantastic locations in Tuscany, Podere il Doccio is an amazing place to stay when in Tuscany.

We stayed at the Doccio from August 5th to Sept 2. We were in the 3 bedroom villa, which was beautiful, well decorated and furnished.

Irene and Eduordo were the best hosts ever, friendly, happy to help, responsive to any requests.

Our villa had 2 air conditioning units, and considering that the average temp was around 35C to 44c, this was a life saver. One unit could keep the whole place cool while we were away, touring, wine tasting, etc. The pool also helped take the edge off of the heat.

The balcony just off the kitchen was perfect for dining ( breakfasts, dinners, etc ).

The Doccio is quite isolated, so a car is a must, but we were minutes away from food, restaurants, etc.

The villa was perfect for us, as there were two bedrooms and bathroom on the top floor, the master bedroom and shower as well as another full bathroom, living room, downstairs.

We would definitively go back, it not in peak heat season again....

Highly recommend as a place to stay and easy driving to the Chianti region, Montalcino ( Brunello ) etc.

Podere Il Doccio was such a fantastic property! We stayed in Villa Terra- and really enjoyed the huge terrace, lovely bedrooms and very handy kitchen! The location was fantastic although a little hard to find! It was a great base for driving around Tuscany- although we loved the villa so much that we didn't really want to go out! The property owners, Marina and Francesco were really great. We loved our cooking class with them- and having dinner with, and meeting the family. We will definitely be back!

First, we were very excited to end our vacation here! The thought of spending 4 days in a Tuscan Villa was something we were looking forward to. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner, she was very kind and showed us around the place. The location is great and very peaceful. The rooms are a little older but it's to be expected. As we settled in we left out some pastries that we bought in Florence and then I took a nap for I wasn't feeling well. When I woke, our villa experience was over. We found a large frog, the size of my fist in the kitchen. We were able to get it out but then we found swarms of ants going for the pastries we had left out! We spent the rest of the night killing ants and trying to clean them away. The next morning we found a scorpion in the bathroom. We decided at this point to just leave and realized that this was not for us. We were later told that this is normal in these parts and that the scorpions are not poisonous. Regardless of the fact, had we known, we would have stayed in the city. We did not enjoy this villa and we will not try another

don't be blinded by the "reasonable" rates: there are MANDARORY hidden fees:

on some booking channels they just "forgot" to mention, in others it's obvious on their own website (where are the higest rates but they don't pay provisons) it's in hidden in "general terms and conditions" for each room. Rentals are obliged to pay 50€-100€ mandatory cleaning fee even you'd stay only 2 nights (I bet they pay their cleaning ladies only 5€/hour). They will charge you for pool towels (redicously 2€/pc), for heating (0,8€/hour!!) and most likely other "small fees" for any kind of service and extras.

Also notice that their cancelation terms on their own website seem to be inherited the those times we used to rent apartments in Switzerland or Austria: 1975 or so it was usual that 30% payment on booking was a non-refundable part (!!).They will charge 100% if you decide 30days before arrival to cancel....

The property can be a beautiful as it is but the above policies make me worried: what kind of understanding of business do they really have?

Remember before booking this place!

What an amazing place this is, my family and I (11) of us have stayed here for the past 2 weeks and I can't praise it enough! Irene and Eduardo are so lovely and helpful, nothing is too much trouble at all. The accommodation is so clean and you have everything you could possibly need, the pool and pool area is fab and again impeccably clean. Irene and Eduardo cooked for us with the gents helping out and the meal was delicious. I would urge anyone visiting Italy to book a stay here. You will not be disappointed 😄 you would need a car as its a 10 min drive to the town... Absolutely amazing 🙌🏻 thank you Irene and Eduardo xx

We wanted a typical Tuscan villa to relax and taste the real countryside of Tyscany, Italy. We certainly got this with hosts Irene and Edwardo and not to forget Felix the dog. They went out of their way to make our stay memorable. With a visit to a winery, the best gelato in Italy which overlooked the most beautiful view of the country. Even a visit to the rose garden with thousands of roses. The rooms were what I think of as a typical Tuscany villa. What an amazing relaxing place to stay. We were there 12 months ago and still talk about our stay there. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful stay.
