This camp has older buildings some that need a bit of TLC but the facilities are clean. Great location next to the river and within walking distance of the CBD. Very well priced cabins were some of the cheapest we have found. Would be happy to come and stay again.

I had a good experience of this camp and stayed 4 nights on a powered site. The camp is right near town and very handy to walkways, past the river to town and the shops. Great for e bikes or walking. The service was excellent and they were very helpful. Even though a little older in shower block, the water was very hot and great pressure. Very clean and tidy and regularly serviced facilities. Tv room and kitchen very well appointed as was the outdoor covered bbq area. Very reasonable nightly rate too and it was fairly full at this time.

Only booked at 2pm, arrived at 10pm. Booking process was a breeze. They left the key in a lockbox with a map and unit key. Once we got to the self contained unit 'Miro' we thought it was lovely. Not bad for a place to rest our heads after a big drive. But after settling in we realised the toilet hadn't been cleaned. There were splatters all through the toilet. No way if someone was cleaning it they could have missed that. Felt like we were in a dirty public toilet. Bed was so used when we hopped in we both rolled into the middle which made for an uncomfortable sleep. Cutlery wasn't clean. Kitchen cupboards had fingerprints. Just not clean. So unfortunate as the staff member was so so lovely! Could be so much better!

A 2 day stopover after traveling highway 35 from gisborne. We have stayed here before some time ago, still a great place showers toilets super clean, laundry well unless you really really need too. I’d go to the local laundromat. Other than that super close to town and there’s always something going on in Whakatane.
