We were very lucky to have been able to stay at Karamata Homestead for a night in December.
Ann-Marie and Ash are brilliant generous hosts and we benefited from a delicious dinner and excellent breakfast in the elegant dining room.
Aah took us on a gold panning adventure and we were instantly rewarded with real gold in the pan! What excitement.
The room was furnished with antiques in keeping with the age of the property and it was a privilege to be able experience staying in such an historic and interesting place.
We cycled here on our ebikes and there is a secure place for the bikes under cover.
We had an excellent stay and hope to return one day.

Extraordinary Homestead, extraordinary period room, extraordinary breakfast, extraordinary ambience. This is a little gem from the moment we were greeted by Ann-Marie, we knew we would have a very special stay and that proved to be the case. This homestead was built in 1872 and everything inside reflects this old world charm. The home cooked breakfast was divine and the presentation so beautiful, with simply beautiful crockery, cutlery and other adornments. Only 1 minute drive from the centre of Coromandel township, this truly is a gem. Thank you for helping make our stay in Coromandel so special

Stayed for 2n in the self-catering Stables cottage and it was absolutely charming, with its history going back more than 150 years.
Ann-Marie met us on arrival and showed us around, giving us tips for restaurants which proved to be top picks.
We booked a town walking tour with Ash and experienced 2 hours of information, history and humour...what he doesn't know, nobody would!
Thank you both for a lovely stay!

We absolutely loved staying at Karamana Homestead. The property offers unique accommodation with lots of interesting touches from Coromandel’s past, as well as all modern conveniences. Beds were super comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and the location was great. We received a very warm welcome and our hosts were absolutely lovely. Can’t wait to come back!

We stayed here for two nights and it was a fantastic property, heaped in history with all sorts of old artefacts dotted around the property. When we arrived we were welcomed and shown round. The rooms are very comfortable with very good facilities in each room (en suites/tea coffee etc). there is a nice garden that you can relax in, but also you are within walking distance of the town (maybe half a mile), but far enough away to have total tranquillity. The breakfast was excellent with a great choice beautifully laid out. We would definitely recommend this B&B.

This was our first stop in NZ and what a warm welcome it was. Anne-Marie and Ash have created a wonderful environment at Karamana where we felt totally at ease and well cared for. It was a great base to explore Coromandal Peninsula and a great place to come back to for bbqs in the garden in the evening. If and when we are back in NZ, we will be sure to visit again. Thank you, it was great!

Karamana Homestead took you back to the early days of NZ. Ash had great stories! Hosts could not have been nicer or more helpful. The home from 1872 has been restored with lots of the antique pieces to make you feel that you were there in the old mining days. A very pleasant stay for sure!

You guys were our favorite Kiwis from the trip. The place is stunning and comfortable, breakfast was delicious, Ash and Anne Marie were above and beyond hosts and we so enjoyed their friendliness and expertise on all things New Zealand. We loved Coromandel Town and the nearby hikes and beaches. It was such a fantastic experience that we will cherish always! Thanks so much!

The hosts are so polite and extremely helpful. We had the best stay here over the long weekend. A warm house with the perfect touches. Such detail has gone into the pictures, murals etc for the age of the house. The bathroom is spotless and clean in all areas. Delightful breakfast and snacks by the fire in the afternoon. We will be back for another stay.

What a lovely place to stay. We were in the cottage so no option on the breakfast, but the facilities were fine anyway. Ash met us and showed us around, very friendly, and after that we didn't see either of the hosts as we were "out and about" but Ann-Marie managed to catch up with us as we were leaving. Short walk into town, so excellent location, very happy
