Wonderful start to holiday. Lovely accommodation and fabulous view. Almost able to see the sea from my bed. Plenty of wildlife in the garden and Jo very helpful in identification. Even a pair of binoculars left to see the birds, boats and hills. Very caring hosts. Perfect

Lovely hosts, great breakfast with homemade goodies, quiet location apart from the very tuneful birds, and the most stunning view from room with a fab balcony to enjoy a drink or two on! Didn't want to leave.

I stayed at Te Kouma B&B for 3 nights and I would go back there any time! The apartment is spacious, clean and well equipped - just wonderful to relax there. There is pure nature with singing birds of all colours around you. Unforgettable is the breathtaking view over the bay. Jo and Kurt are lovely hosts. I enjoyed their great company and sense of humour very much. The breakfast was delicious and I liked Kurt’s homemade wholemeal bread and jam very much. I warmly recommend this B&B!

We have just spent 3 fabulous nights with Jo and Kurt and enjoyed delicious breakfasts and great company. The unit was well appointed with great views and plenty of birdsong. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we will be recommending it to everyone.

Having already sent 2 sets of relatives to Te Kouma in recent years I finally visited my self and was not disappointed. Kurt and Jo are wonderful hosts with great local knowledge and sense of humour. The rooms are comfortable and have an amazing view out over the harbour. Low light pollution also allows for good star viewing from the deck

In Dec. 2012 we spent 2 weeks touring New Zealand from Bay of Islands to South Island fiords, staying mainly in B & B's. We Spent 2 nights at Te Kouma, this was a memorable experience. Situated just outside Coromandel Town with a stunning uninterrupted view over the coast. Take a glass of wine on your private balcony and watch the sunset. The spacious private apartment was clean, comfortable and freshly decorated. A large double bed plus a single in the bedroom alcove, space to unpack and be organized. An excellent well furnished living area and well equipped kitchen area. Spacious clean bathroom with shower and basin and a separate toilet.

Kurt & Jo were charming and excellent hosts, serving breakfast personally in their own dining room with a wonderful variety of freshly cooked fare. They had the answers to our many and varied questions, not only regarding the local area but in other places we were planning to visit and made telephone bookings and enquiries on our behalf. Do not be fooled by first impressions, it is unpretentious and entry off the road is very steep. BUT This was the best we found during our 2 week trip..

I booked Te Kouma after reading other Tripadvisor reviews and once again reviewers got it just right. Kurt and Jo are delightful hosts, they make you feel very welcome and their accommodation is superb. We had the apartment which was beautifully refurbished to the highest standard and a lovely decking area on which to admire one of the best views in North Island. The area is filled with the sound of birds and Kurt and Jo helped me identify many of them. Sitting on the decking, listening to the birds, watching the sun go down on the bay with a glass of good wine, you could be forgiven for throwing your passport away and never going home!! Also, the lack of light pollution meant that the night sky at Te Kouma was spectacular. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast each morning and Kurt and Jo gave us useful advice on where to go. I could have stayed much longer than the two nights we were there and hope to go back next year.

My wife, son & I had the pleasure of staying with Jo & Kurt a few weeks back. We wanted to find a bed and breakfast so we could experience Coromandel with locals who know the area, and stay in a quiet non-hotel atmosphere.

I was concerned that Te Kouma B&B would decline, as we were traveling with a two-year old. Not so! Our hosts were very accommodating, making up a small bed for our son to use in an adjacent room, and spending time interacting with him. We felt more like we were visiting relatives than staying in a stranger's home.

The accommodation was terrific, with a kitchenette and oven for our use, and a gorgeous view of the harbour with deck chairs to relax in. Very clean, and a healthy breakfast awaiting us each morning.

Very highly recommended.

We stayed at Te Kouma for a week as we explored Coromandel. Kurt and Jo were wonderful hosts and we enjoyed spending time talking with them and the other guests and breakfast. The apartment met all of our needs: quiet, spacious, clean and well equipped. It has a lovely view, perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

We stayed 2 nights (8 and 9th of Dec) with Jo and Kurt and loved our stay. We would definitively love to come back again, so many things left to see, and we enjoyed meeting and chatting with our hosts.
The house is very quiet in the bush, still very close to Coromandel.
We had the queen room, it has a stunning view on the bay. Very comfortable bed, we slept very well.
Delicious breakfast, Jo makes sirup peaches and pears, they are so good ! Yumi !
Maybe to a next time !
