Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We fluked on this amazing place 4 years ago...and have been going back with our kids and grandkids ever since. Friendly, family fun with boat ramp in the camp. Great fishing and swimming and Elvis Day every year - except in the rain. It's clean and happy and a bloody awesome place to develop a second camping family. We love it.

Not worth it at all, horrible people and facilities in terrible condition in the male bathrooms and showers. Male toilets broken by drunk "locals" and shower had urine on the floor. Showers didn't work giving only cold water despite paying correctly and reception staff were very dismissive at all times. The "locals" treat you as an inconvenience and stay up until late making noise. Definitely my worst experience in NZ so far, save your money and don't go here. Wild camping is a much better option than this place.

Stayed here camped (tents) 3 nights with family. Lovely place, had a good spot to see the sunrise and sunset every night on lot #6. Has everything you need a short walk away (bbq , kitchen, washing, toilets, shower). Good fishing right on the doorstep aswell. The little shop is really convenient. Will definitely come back.

We decided to book us a kitchen cabin this time around as we've camped (tenting) stayed in a caravan & now stayed in a cabin. The in-laws stayed in their self contained RV. We had a 2 bedroom cabin with a double bed & 3 single beds as we had a friend with us. Fantastic setup table/chairs fridge/freezer mini stove & cooker. We accessed the communal showers & toilets a stones throw away from our cabin. We always return to Papa Aroha Holiday Park at least twice a year for our fishing get aways as the water is right on our doorstep, we can launch our boat straight off the beach. The mussel farms are within close proximity without having to travel so far out . Top marks as always! Friendly hosts a shop on site + petrol for the boaties. An excellent fish filleting setup. What more could you ask for! If you're planning a weekend away in & around the Coromandel Area I highly recommend Papa Aroha Holiday Park! 10/10 👍

Our very first time camping here and we will definitely be back again. Great place to take your family camping. If you want to watch the sunset, I would recommend to try to get a camp site from 3-6. Helpful staff and a shop with essentials. If you have a boat this place is perfect. Great swimming beach, the beach has pebbles but that didn't bother us. Awesome atmosphere. Thank you very much for the wonderful stay.
