What a experience which has made the visit to the Coromandel a very enjoyable and memorable and made me full in love with everything here. The eonderful Geneviere the hostess accomodated my boys and me on very short notice and even allowed us to observe Honey extracting, made awesome suggestions and is very knowledgeable of the local amenities and great places to eat out. The 2 bedroom Chalet upstairs had all the amenities, beautiful made beds (ultra cleaned and serviced via Hygienitech) great water pressure, secluded and surrounded by nature, what a beautiful and amazing place. Highly recommend! Will be back for sure. Just have fallen in love.
Thank you so very much Fern Lodge

Stayed for one night in the Garden Suite with my 2 GSDs. It's sooo nice to find somewhere that not only accepts these big dogs but is more than happy to do so. Lovely large room with comfortable bed, nice amenities and accommodating hosts.
Thanks guys. We had a fabulous stay. We'll be back.

Fern Lodge is not your usual motel. The part we stayed in had two bedrooms, balcony overlooking bush, and all the usual facilities which were nicely presented. A small thing, but also a great thing, was the fact that the fridge is in the kitchen and separate from the bedroom. Therefore there was no annoying sound to be heard through the night. If we were in Coromandel again we would definitely stay there. We decided to stay a second night.

This is the Coromandel and so one expects to encounter native bush, eco-friendly houses and equally friendly craftspeople such as potters or artists. Fern Lodge meets all these expectations, on the northern edge of Coromandel town, down a bush-fringed driveway. The studio we occupied was well-equipped and had some eco-friendly touches -- among them: no nasty chemical cleaning smells, soap that benefits the Forest and Bird Society and a receptacle for food scraps for compost. The studio was clean, light and pleasant with a balcony looking out into the fruit trees. I had only one quibble -- uncomfortable armchairs that are probably just fine for the young and agile but not so easy otherwise. The owners are charming and most obliging.

While I probably wouldn’t book The Cabin again for our next visit I would stay at Celadon again, just a personal choice but for the young and in love wanting privacy above everything else (and maybe some not so young) and those who just really want to be away from everything else in their own small space The Cabin is a perfect choice with lovely views. Also (as my Hubby has just pointed out) The Cabin might be a good choice for someone travelling on business who simply wants an “I’m away from the world now” kind of place to go chill at the end of a busy working day… it has that kind of ambiance.
Celadon is a lovely property with character, not so much a typical motel, something difficult to describe. If you want pristinely identical units… don’t go there. If you want something that the owner is offering with real feeling then you are probably going to the right place. We asked, and were shown through prior to leaving, both the Studio Unit and the Fern Lodge… both lovely. Maybe not to everyone’s tastes, I know a lot of people want up to date, latest, flashest etc. but we really liked both units and would feel very comfortable staying in either of them, both units have their own ’vibe’, which would be hard to come by from ‘identikits’ type places.
The Fern Lodge has the views, the Studio is set in lovely garden grounds (no views out over the water but really pleasant).
There is also The Chalet which would be incredibly good value for a largish number of people wanting to stay together.
Overall this is a nice place to stay with good personal input. Wishing you all the best Ray and hope to see you again at some, not too distant point, in the future.

Gen was very hospitable and so are her dogs and goat! We stayed in the garden suite with our 2 little dogs and the space was more than enough for us! When we arrived, the suite was spotless and the beds are so comfy! I really loved the fact that it was a pet friendly accommodation.

We stayed in the garden studio and it hugely exceeded expectations. The place is beautiful with very good facilities, and is extremely spacious. The electric blanket was great, as we had cool damp weather. Would have liked to stay longer, but so much to see and do!

This was our third stay here over the past ten years—we always return to Coromandel Town because of the charm and location of these cottages. Slightly rustic in appearance but modern in every other way, our cottage was comfortable, clean, affordable, peaceful, and surrounded by an abundance of plant life. Evenings on the deck with a glass of wine were memorable,

I have been to Fern lodge for a number of years but this time it had been upgraded in the range of facilities offered. It felt more like a hotel than motel but with rustic charm still. Our room was comfortable and clean but deep in the garden so we felt we were away from it all.We came back relaxed.
