Saenliefde is an extraordinary B&B situated in Pakhuis Riga, a monumental old warehouse dating from 1680. The warehouse has been fully preserved and now offers all modern comforts. You can enjoy the fantastic location on the Zaan river, the large rooms, the varied breakfast and also relax in the garden. The central location makes Saenliefde a good starting point for exploring Noord-Holland.

There are so many positive aspects of our stay at the Saenliefde B&B: its location by the water in the peaceful village of Wormer offers a perfect relaxation after spending a day in the buzzing Amsterdam (reachable in 20 min by train, in addition to some walking to the train station, but the B&B offers also bike rental for an affordable price, so we reached the station very quickly).
The hosts Ronald and Margreet are very welcoming and pleasant to chat with. Every morning they prepare a fresh and delicious breakfast with some home made ingredients. The atmosphere in the breakfast room is very homey and pleasant. It is obvious that the hosts care a lot about their beautiful historic house in which the B&B is located, since the place is very clean and furnished with a mix of modern and antique design.
We would definitely come back!

Our stay (September 2023) at the B&B Saenliefde was most enjoyable. The location is intriguing; it’s an area with industrial/commercial history, much of it now being developed into attractive waterside accommodation. Saenliefde is a tasteful conversion of a small warehouse on the waterfront. Our room was spacious, clean and well-equipped, with plenty of attention to detail and home comforts. The breakfasts were excellent! We enjoyed a traditional Dutch breakfast, with just the right amount of variety each day. Above all, we found Ronald & Margreet to be very welcoming and friendly hosts. We particularly appreciated the advice about nearby restaurants and attractions, and especially the practical help they offered when we needed it. Thoroughly recommended!

My husband and I enjoyed our 2nd mini break of the year at Saenliefde. We came on our motorbikes in May and this month, October, we came on our electric trikes. We were able to park our trikes overnight in the spacious garage. On both visits we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This B&B was beautifully done from the garden to the decoration in the room. The breakfasts were freshly prepared, well presented and delicious. This is a very neat and tidy B&B and you can see that the owners have put a lot of love and care into making it what it is today. The owners/hosts were very welcoming and friendly and offered advice on what to do in the area. It is located about 20 minutes north of Amsterdam by train and 10 mins from Zaanse Schans, 20 minutes from Edam and Volendam.

Amazing home cooked foods, exceedingly friendly, helpful & polite hosts was very enjoyable. Enjoyed hiring bikes from our hosts & explored the beautiful countryside with lots of wildlife about. Will definitely return.

The Saenliefde is a beautifully renovated and decorated old Zaan-style country house, located directly at the waterside in Wormer. The couple, Ronald and Margreet (apologies, I hope I am spelling your names correctly :-)), are super welcoming and excellent hosts! Rooms are very spacious and everything is sparkly clean. The breakfast is excellent, too! Free parking is available at the property.

A friendly welcome from the start made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. The building has been lovingly restored. The rooms are spacious and include plenty of charging points and other facilities. The breakfast was tasty and ample. The B&B is easy to access by rail, car or even by boat, and has a small car park with room for upto 4 cars. There are EV charging points nearby. A great location for exploring the area and for day trips into Amsterdam. Would definitely stay here again.

The hospitality from the moment we first arrived until the sad time that we said goodbye, was majestic. There was nothing that our hosts hadn't thought of; the exceptional accomodation, the stunning breakfasts each morning, that by the way are completely bespoke to the requirements of every person in your party, the bikes to borrow to visit the windmills, the communal garden to sit and enjoy conversation with family and strangers, if that's your thing.
Honestly, five stars are easily given these days, but in truth, more stars are needed here. Staying at Saenliefde and more importantly the kind and thoughtful nature of our hosts are what made Amsterdam so special. A short cycle to the windmills or a short train ride into the city centre, it's in the perfect spot to go everywhere but be nowhere at the same time.

Very good place to be. We enjoyed our holiday-trip very much!. Ronald and Margreet are helping and giving advice about all kind of trips and talking with love and about the surrounding.
