A- mazing. Family friendly, pet friendly and all round friendly, friendly. We visited for the first time over the busy anniversary weekend. While it was busy, it wasn't crowded. The staff did an amazing job of diligently and frequently cleaning all the amenities and even while mopping floors or sorting compost out of recycling bins, they kept a smile on their face and a 'no stress' attitude.
The activities are outstanding. My kids thought we'd landed in heaven. Particularly popular with us was the water slide, river raft, tractor / trailer rides, confidence course and giant swing. Prices are super reasonable- once you're in, everything but the go-karts is included. Day trippers can also visit for a small $8 (ish) admission. I loved that there were braziers to borrow and a blatant disregard for most things for excessive OSH restrictions. It felt like our kids could experience childhood as it was waaaay back in my day. Swing high, jump far, stay up late, wander freely, make friends, fall down scrape a knee, get up, repeat...

Kitchen facilities were basic but clean. Loads of wood bbq's on site and you can buy firewood for $4 an armload if you don't bring your own.

We stayed 2 nights. Could easily stay a week.

We had the best 5 nights here at the end of the school holidays. Kids (and us adults) loved the water slide, river slide, flying fox and all the other amazing entertainment that is here. All the facilities were spotless the entire time and loved seeing staff there regularly to check everything. Reception staff were super friendly and helpful.
We have been recommending this place to everyone and we will definitely be back!!!

We love this place. The kids can cycle and there's so much to do. A very family orientated place so it feels safe, all about kids and parents having fun and relaxing. The braziers are fanatic and kept us warm on a few cool nights. It's very clean. I had my own camp cooker etc which gave us more freedom as amenity block can be crowded but you can space out your meal times. Highly recommend.

We love camping at Quinney's Bush because of the spacious options amongst the trees for shade and shelter, the many activities. Lots of people in and out. Friendly staff and people. Kids playing freely. The staff are so friendly and very much enjoyed chatting around the boiler waiting for space to wash up or when bathroom was being cleaned. The dedication to keeping facilities clean and tidy is awesome.

We stayed a night after a recommendation from someone at another campsite as we made our way north in a campervan. Incredible place for kids, both young and young at heart! Our kids were unimpressed when we left. Very welcoming hosts, impeccably clean facilities and I really liked the way rubbish is handled with provisions for recycling and food waste. This spot was a highlight of our trip and we wish we'd known about it sooner. Will definitely be back.

This has always been our No1 Favourite Spot for camping for many years.

Super Clean facilities as always..

The Quinney Family are amazing people along with their wonderful staff members and this stands out on your arrival until you depart. We love camping in this phenomenal location where you hear the sound of the birds throughout the day and our young family member enjoying the activities that Quinney's Bush has to offer - nature, the water hole, the waterslide, the amazing playground, flying fox and much much more. Our family member really enjoys the time meeting new friends who have now become great friends all from camping at Quinney's Bush.

One fantastic item they now offer is a selection of the very best in hot drinks and those sensational ice cold coffee's....they have the best barista you can get...!

We love this spot and highly recommend it. Thanks team for a truly amazing time once again! We are definitely locked in for another outstanding camping holiday and will be always recommending you to our friends.

Thanks a million Mark & Marama.

Had heard great things but was still blown away by what a great place this was for families to visit. The range of activities was huge and suitable for all ages, from our three year olds to adults we could have fun together. The rules are very well policed but this meant that we had a safe environment that we could let our kids have freedom in, and parents could relax. The first time we have ever had a relaxing holiday with kids! We will definitely be back!!
Just a note for those with littlies, the swimming hole is quite deep right to the edges, so floaties etc are needed.

Thank you for your review and great to hear that you felt your kids were safe to explore the camp. There are different areas of the river that are safe for younger kids as guests build small pools there but Quinneys Lake is definitely deep in places!

My partner came here when he was young and we finally made it with our children this year. Stayed 6 nights, wish we had booked for longer. Staff were so friendly, especially Neil and Barbara. Facilities clean and warm. Lots of fridges and freezers. So much for the kids to do, great flying fox (my eldest managed 50 rides while we were there 😆) and water slide and trailer rides. We appreciated all the effort put in to digging Quinney's Lake out 3 times and loved cooling off there. Looking forward to bringing our dog next year as lots of shady sites. Our girls loved the independence they got and the new friends made. We had more fun here and connected better as a family than our recent holiday to Oz and it was a 10th of the price! Looking forward already to next January and coming back for longer. Thank you for a great holiday 😊

We've been going every summer for 10 years, the kids and dog love it.
A couple of off notes this year:
1) I tried to discuss with Mark why I felt charging $5 for a litre of milk was over the top, Marks comments were "go to Tapawere if you want it cheaper" and "there's plenty of other camping grounds if you don't like this one". Way to alienate your customer, Mark.
2) there's a sign at the "lake" which says it's in sub-standard condition because there's been floods and it's cost $14000 to dig it out twice this summer. Well, without context of how $14k compares to Quinney's Bush finances, this comment simply comes across as "we chose to put money ahead of our customer's experience". Note, I just think a better-worded sign could go a long way here.

OK, this reviewer has missed one or two important details! He objected to our price for milk, calling it "scalping" and seemed to disbelieve the fact that it costs us $4 per litre to be delivered here. The conversation went a bit pear shaped after that so I suggested he drive to Tapawera to buy his milk or try another camp that may have milk at the price he is happy with? If this reviewer has indeed been camping here for ten years, then he would be very aware of the issues we have had with Quinneys Lake. Does he really think we are going to publicize our finances??? The sum of $14,000 is a huge amount for any camp to lose in one year; perhaps this reviewer does need to find another camp to make some comparisons. The sign at Quinneys Lake actually reads as follows: SO WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH QUINNEY’S LAKE??? • This summer it has been dug out twice and two floods have filled it back in again! • Each dig out costs around $7000 so we have literally seen $14000 go down the drain… • …and still we have no Quinneys Lake! • This represents a very significant loss for us which we cannot sustain each year • Several years back we engaged a surveyor to design an inland pool fed by river water • To build a pool like this will need a resource consent and significant ($$$s) design work • However, it would seem to be the best and most cost effective solution • The contractor has been contacted to see when it could be dug out yet again but… • …it won’t be to the same high standard as the two previous dig outs due to $$$s WE DO APOLOGISE FOR THIS INCONVENIENCE BUT HERE WE HAVE FIRST HAND EVIDENCE THAT CLIMATE CHANGE IS A REALITY EVEN AT QUINNEYS BUSH! PLEASE CAMPERS, DO YOUR PART AND RE-USE, REDUCE AND RECYCLE!!!

Went for new years with daughter and family 3 kid's under 11 we all had a wonderful camping experience plenty for the kid's to do playground water slides flying fox and much more, facilities we're always clean, kitchen was a bit on the small size but we did our cooking on site, powered site's we're a good size we had a tent a gazebo and room to park our van. A 2 minute walk up the road we're you can get a real fruit ice cream. The camp has it's own shop for essentials. We rated our holiday 10 out of 10. Looking forward to going back this year.
