Detailed Reviews
We enjoyed the large room, newly-renovated bathroom, proximity to the beach and the main street, and the quiet. The beds are good too. And we could have our dog with us while in the room for an extra charge. The wifi was also good. The breakast buffet was all we could wish for, but they could add another coffee machine to shorten the wait.

Room Tip: No 18 on the ground has no view but is quiet. Plenty to see right out the front door.

We booked the hotel via Booking.Com and had clicked the pets button when selecting a room. The system did not accommodate our wish and when we arrived they did not have a room available for the six nights we had booked on line where our dog could stay as well. We would have to change hotels after 4 nights. But a while later they came up with a solution, upgrading us to an apartment for the same cost. What a great hotel.
It is located directly behind the sand dune with the sea on the other side and the town centre is immediately behind the hotel. The road is not heavily trafficked so the room is quiet.
We are on our third day and we are thoroughly enjoying the quiet time in this lovely seaside town.

Travelled solo as my son was in the International Children's Games being held in Alkmaar...Egmond is only 20 mins by bus from Alkmaar. Good regular bus service runs into
Alkmaar every 30 mins during the week. Great hotel location, staff helpful - room basic, but has all you need.
Nice square with places to eat, shops run next to the hotel. Clean sandy beach just a walk across the road. Location would be great for a family holiday

This hotel should be avoided at all costs. Rather than a hotel, this is actually a block of outdated apartments.
During my stay, the staff at the hotel locked one of the doors inside my apartment such that I couldn't get into the bedroom. I found this out upon my return from a dinner just after midnight and there was nobody at reception. I had to walk to another hotel in egmond to try and sort it out. It took 2 hours to get into the bedroom in the apartment - no apology from the staff or anything - they said "we are 3 star what do you expect?".
Atrocious. Avoid.

Hotel De Boei was a wonderful hotel!
The check in and check out was smooth and professional. The rooms were clean and spacious with a lovely view over the ocean. Restaurant downstairs served an ample breakfast but could have had more options for cooked food such as omelettes etc.
the lcation is right next to the main shopping precinct which has many lively little shoos.
Overall a top stay will stay again!!!!

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is at the beach - you can just go barefoot. There are good restaurants nearby. The standard rooms could really use a touch up. The carpets had sooo many stains and the bathroom was quite tired as well.
If you're looking for something close to the beach and are on a tight budget, then this is a good choice.

It is a nice hotel direct on the beach. The hotel has a seperated entrance from the restaurant. When we where there( a weekend in November) the reception was not always occupied. The appearance of the hotel is quite OK and the rooms were clean. The wall are made of wood and it can be quite noisy. The beds were much to soft so I wake up with a small back problems. In general it was OK but I would not recommend to stay there for a longer period. The rooms are quite small and the problems of the bed I already described. For us it was a good place to have long walks on the beach and have some nice dinners. Outside the hotel there are a lot of restaurants with nice terraces available.

The hotel is plain, but comfortable enough for a pleasant stay. Good breakfast in cosy place nextdoor. No restaurant, but there are plenty in the street and even on the beach. Location great on just footsteps away from the nice beach. Egmond aan Zee is a pretty, quiet, family oriented holiday town. Parking opposite in the street, Obligatory parking permit available for reasonable fee.

Hotel is situated in front of the beach and next to the lighthouse. We had a balcony with a view on the lighthouse and it was charming. Rooms are clean, modern, but I didn´t like shower in the bathroom and fan wasn´t working at all. Breakfast was allright and staff was very friendly.

Poor hotel, value for money does not do well. On the expensive side for what you get.
The location of the hotel is fantastic, even if you have difficulty walking. However, in the hotel itself are many stairs. So indicate this during books.
Room is fine for sleeping and showering, do not expect luxury. Room on small side.
Bathroom is nice and clean.
Hygiene okay, enough. However, dirty curtains. And carpeting in a hotel is always a shame considering the hygiene.
Facilities in the room top like hair dryer and even a fan! Also spacious wardrobe. Just miss a small fridge.
Breakfast buffet is okay, small scale but that's okay. Had better but basically fine, you are not short of anything.
All in all great location if you expect no more than sleeping and showering on location itself.
