We stayed at the Elite Sun Beach for 6 nights in Sept 2011. it is split into 2 blocks, Sunbeach 1 & 2. It is a beautiful complex with friendly & helpful staff. The rooms were very spacious and tastefully decorated with fridge freezer, hob, microwave 7 toaster in the kitchenette area (not that we used them as we ate out). There was no maid service and we only had 3 towels between us for the week which I had to swill through & dry on the balcony, so it would be a good idea to take spare towels with you. The hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk from the town centre and a 20 minute walk to the beach which didn't bother us as there was only the 2 of us but I would not have liked the walk had I had children with me. A lot of guests at the hotel had cars so it wasn't too much of a problem. There is a beautiful pool area with a children's section and there is a lifeguard on duty until the last guest leaves the pool. There is also a bar area by the pool and a small children's play area. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely consider going back.

We have just returned from a week's stay here. We booked it as a last minute holiday just the day before flying out so we didnt really look into the hotel and area before going. In the hotel description it stated that there was a kids club but on arrival we were told that it was shut down. It turned out that there was also a restaurant and a spa & fitness centre (these werent in the description) but they were also shut down. The pool is not huge but was fine for us because the place was so quiet - some days we were the only ones in there! There were also plenty of sunbeds and parasols. The pool closed 3pm - 4pm everyday which was annoying - it was obviously for the lifeguard to have his lunch break and so not sure if they would have done this if it had been busier. The apartments are a few years old now but we were very pleased with ours - very clean and modern, and plenty of space for the three of us (we have a four year old). It was a self-catering apartment and so would have expected a few more plates/glasses and pans & there was no kettle so take your own if you need one! There was meant to be free wi-fi in the reception area but I only managed to get online on two days out of the seven days we were there. When I asked the man on reception (who we assumed to be the manager) for help with the wi-fi he wasnt helpful at all - he said his internet was working so didnt know why mine wasnt!! The bar outside by the pool was always very quiet. Would not recommend eating there though because we tried it one day - we asked for hotdogs and were given cold frankfurters in a hotdog bread roll (when I asked for it to be heated up the bartender looked at me funny, then stuck it in the oven to warm up - still came out barely warm & so we gave up at that point!).
The surrounding area is quite disappointing - the hotel is located quite close to the motorway although we werent bothered by this as it was far enough away not to be disturbed by any noise. There are other apartment blocks nearby, but also several shells of apartments - there was no building work going on and it just looked like they had been started then abandoned when their money ran out!
There is a supermarket just 5 mins down the road which is very good and had everything that we needed. It is about 10-15 mins walk into the town and 25-30 mins walk to the beach (through the town) - we did this several times and although my partner doesnt like walking he was fine with it! We took a taxi down to the beach one day and it cost €6. The beach is lovely - you can hire two sun loungers and a parasol for €10/day which is expensive but as we only went a couple of times it was fine. There are plenty of cafe's and restaurants along the front serving a variety of food.

Overall we enjoyed our holiday and would definitely like to return to Guardamar. We would return to the Sunbeach if all facilities were available and the price was right!

On arrival we were treated very civilly by the receptionist who booked us in quickly and directed us to our apartment.
The apartment was much better than we had expected, very modern, clean and had everything required for a self-catering holiday.
The apartments were in two blocks, making a total of 280 rooms. The pool area was pleasant but only if you managed to get one of the 34 sunbeds or one of the 12 shades and the pool itself was needing some attention paid to missing tiles. Local people seemed to wander in and out during our time there and spend 4 or 5 hours by the pool which meant that guests had even less chance of a sunbed.
I never saw a cleaner for the week we were there but knew that we had to do our own. We were informed however that towels would be replaced every 2 days and sheets after 5. On the fourth day and on the sixth, I had to go to reception and ask for them myself and we never got the clean sheets. No mention anywhere that we had to go and ask.
There appears to have been a restaurant here at some time but alas it was closed. There was a cafe which was open all day till late but it was never very busy. It did have a menu which seemed to offer a good selection but as it was all in Spanish, unfortunately we couldn`t order and they couldn`t tell us what the translation would be.
The apartments are situated on a large roundabout which could get quite noisy but the main problem with this is that it makes access difficult to find. We knew that it was to be the fourth exit off the roundabout but the entrance was hidden by high walls until you were right at it.
This place could be much better than it was. The right ingredients were there but were not being utilised.

We arrived and our room wasn't ready. They don't check in new guests until after 3 pm, so after 3 pm, there is a huge line to check in. This can take upwards of 2 hours. You essentially lose your first day. The beach is not really walking distance (especially in the summer heat), so there is no advantage there. The staff messed up our reservation. We were to have a two bedroom apartment, but we only received a one bedroom. We were told that a two bedroom would be available on the 4th night of our 5 night stay and the clerk assured us that he would personally take care of this. He never did. This meant 5 nights of bad sleep. We ordered extra pillows so we could turn the futon into a bed. The 1st request came at 5 pm; the 2nd at 10:30 pm; the 3rd at 11:00 pm (when everyone was ready for bed); the pillow arrived just after midnight. The restaurant was adequate, but the waiters seem to forget us. Often, our plates were served to customers who arrived after us (as they had a more competent waiter). Our food would come cold. The quality of the food was adequate, though there was very little selection and everything came with fries. Unfortunately, any decent restaurant was quite far from the resort and that would mean taxi if we wanted to have a few drinks. The pool was nice, though there was a shortage of sun loungers. If you want to watch tv, it's a 20 euro deposit for the remote. The elevators are not coordinated, so you often waited forever for one (housekeeping often monopolised the other), and when you did get on, you would invariably stop at every floor as people would have pushed the call button, then deserted out of frustration. The showers flooded that bathrooms. I really wouldn't recommend this place unless you were desperate to stay in the same town as a beach.

We had only booked in this apartment for two night's, however, we were so pleased with the
apartment we decided to stay for five night's, the room's were of a very good size, the balcony was extremely large, very clean, and well furnished, on the whole, we were very impressed,
will book here again for sure.

We have just returned from a short break at this hotel. It was better than we expected. It has just changed ownership and the new owners are in the process of putting their stamp on it. We didn't find it straight away as there was no hotel name sign up yet! However, it is well located off the N332 and is fairly close to the beach at Guardamar, which we found to be excellent. Our room was clean and spacious, with a good-sized balcony. The kitchen facilities were basic, with no kettle, but we were given one when we asked at reception. The buffet breakfast was very pleasant - not a great choice but all freshly prepared. The breakfast area was very light and airy. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The pool was clean and seemed to be supervised at all times. We would visit again and would recommend to others.

Lovely clean apartments. Could be better equipped in the kitchen department. Great location for Guardamar town and beach. Lovely clean pool, always life guarded. Friendly, helpful staff. Just been taken over so the Spa, gym and restaurant have not been open which is a shame. But otherwise we have had a fantastic two weeks here with our 2 year old.

Hotel looks great in the brochures.
No cleaners
You have to take your towels and bedding to reception to exchange for fresh ones
No restaurant
Not enough sun loungers
Pool opens at 11am each day but the locals who stop here monopolise the pool and loungers from about 9am - hotel staff do not care
The fully equipped kitchen does not have a kettle or toaster
The air con is not cold - seems like it is ducted air from outside
It is no where near the beach ( as advertised)
The beds are very uncomfortable
Would not stop here again

This hotel was not a hotel there was no restaurant,no maid service.you had to take your towels and bedding to reception to get it changed you also had to do your own cleaning of the apartment
We stayed for 2 weeks while we were house hunting in the area and when we got back at the end of the day all we wanted to do was have something to eat and a couple of drinks the drinks were ok because there is a bar, but no food and to find a restaurant it was either a very long walk or a drive or a taxi as there is nothing at all around this hotel.
But having said all that all the staff at this Motel !! were all very nice and very helpful
Would we stay here again no we would not.
